    By Our Staff

Cadbury 5 Star launches its first digital currency called ‘NothingCoin’, that gets mined while you do nothing. The brand has partnered with Paytm and Reliance JioMart for customers to redeem their earned ‘NothingCoins’.

Speaking about the campaign, Anil Viswanathan, Senior Director – Marketing, Mondelez India, said: “Gen Z today is in a constant hustle mode list – right from balancing their studies, finding a job, having an active social life to worrying about their investment plans. We truly feel they deserve some downtime and perhaps a much-needed digital detox. As a brand that has been at the heart of our country’s youth culture through innovative campaigns and quirky narratives, the introduction of NothingCoin is our attempt to inspire them to take a break in the most engaging and rewarding manner. This campaign reiterates Cadbury 5 Star’s brand persona of being witty and speaking in a language that excites the youth.”

Added Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer, Ogilvy India: “NothingCoin is an innovative engagement idea that’s witty, catchy and fun, just how a 5 Star idea should be. For the always-on generation, 5 Star’s NothingCoin is a smarter way to take a much-needed digital break, do nothing and yet get rewarded. And what made the idea zanier was opening an actual bank which encouraged people to mine NothingCoins by simply doing nothing.”

    By Our Staff

British Airways has released a new campaign ‘The Best Gift’ aimed at last-minute flyers to make the most of this year’s festive season. British Airways has always told human stories, and it’s been our pleasure to write the next chapter.”

Added Ritu Sharda, CCO, Ogilvy India (North): “Every Diwali, we find great joy in gifting something to our loved ones! On the other hand, we also find it most exasperating, trying to figure out the perfect gift for each of them. Our new film addresses both these insights with a beautiful message – that the best gift that you can give this Diwali is you.”

  • Ogilvy campaigns for Philips Airfryer

    By Our Staff

Philips Airfryer has launched a consumer-focused campaign #Perfect360Review. The TVC features chef Ranveer Brar.

Commenting on the campaign, Gulbahar Taurani, Managing Director, Philips Domestic Appliances said: “We were the first ones to introduce airfryers to the Indian market and have built the category from scratch.  Being the category pioneers, it was not only important to drive category education, but imperative to help consumers in making an informed choice. While the consumers are increasingly becoming health conscious, properly cooked tasty food is non-negotiable. And our Airfryer just ensures that! Through the #Perfect360Review campaign, we wanted to showcase how healthy and tasty food should be an easy choice along with highlighting the supremacy of Philips Airfryer range, equipped with cutting-edge technology. Thanks to the convenience and variety it has to offer, the product fits in seamlessly with today’s busy lifestyle and is a perfect gadget for the modern kitchen and household.”

Added Ritu Sharda, CCO, Ogilvy India (North): “It’s always a joy to create work for a product that has something unique about it. This brief was so much fun yet challenging. The task was simple that we need to showcase how Philips Airfryer is different and better than the competition. This gave us the idea of basing the campaign on the product’s USP of 360-degree even frying, something which is unique only to Philips Airfryers. We took this product centric brief and gave it a relatable human story. Something that anyone who loves cooking or simply cooks for their loved ones will identify with. So, what we have is a campaign that shows the Philips Airfryer acing the 360-degree review of a hard-to-please character. Such as a celebrity chef, for instance. We had fun developing this concept and hope that the audience will relate to it and find it enjoyable at the same time.”

  • Ogilvy’s mental health campaign for Bournvita

    By Our Staff

Cadbury Bournvita has rolled out ‘Get The Message’, a digital-first campaign aimed at raising awareness around kids’ mental and emotional well-being and partner with parents in this journey. The campaign was conceptualized and brought to life in partnership with Ogilvy India and mental health organisation, The Minds Foundation.

Speaking about the campaign, Inderpreet Singh, Associate Director – Marketing (Beverages, Meals, Candies & Gums), Mondelez India, said: “The pandemic and the subsequent lockdown brought forth a new parenting challenge. The physical restrictions of social isolation, schools being shut, being constantly cooped up at home has impacted children mentally. The signs of children struggling with their mental and emotional health are often very subtle and sometimes not picked up or tend to be misread by parents. As a trusted brand that has always highlighted the need for progressive and holistic parenting, #GetTheMessage campaign is an attempt to help parents identify these signs and provide them with the right resources to ensure their children’s mental and emotional wellbeing. The idea leverages technology in a smart way to provide resources to parents and break the taboo around this topic.”

Added Dr Raghu Appasani, CEO, Minds Foundation: “Mental health is something we all have and therefore it is important to be able to understand it in oneself and in others. Through this incredible partnership with Cadbury Bournvita, we have been able to curate our years of evidence-backed mental health research and expertise into easy to understand, interactive and accessible resources for parents and make it available across the country. As you explore the chatbot and the website, you will come across educational materials on how to engage with children struggling with their mental health, have difficult conversations, equip them with tools for resilience, and develop stronger relationships. Additionally, we have been able to provide access to a toll-free 24/7 helpline for parents to reach out. This is just the beginning of our partnership with Cadbury Bournvita and we are very excited to continue our journey and mission to provide further resources.”

Said Akshay Seth, Group Creative Director & Chinmay Raut, Senior Creative Director, Ogilvy India: “The signs of mental health struggles are there for one to see as well as miss. We wanted to mirror this reality in a very organic way through the films by showing the point of view of both, the parent, and the child. For parents the sign can be easy to miss but children seek a shoulder, and we wanted the audience to be that shoulder. By getting the viewer to have a conversation with the affected kid on WhatsApp via a bot, we are breaking the wall and making the viewer understand the condition a little better. We are also empowering parents to reach out for further help via counsellors so that MannKiTayyari no longer gets overlooked.”

  • Refreshing role reversal. Ogilvy redoes iconic Cadbury Dairy Milk TVC

    By Our Staff

It needed a brave client in 1993 for the original film, it needed an even braver client now, says Piyush Pandey, Chairman of Global Creative & Executive Chairman, India. Indeed.

In its 10 years, MxM hasn’t done a ‘big story’ based on a communique of a new TVC. But this one deserved it.

Reason: Cadbury Dairy Milk has released a refreshed version of its iconic 1990s campaign. The film conceptualised by Ogilvy India, for Mondelez India, shows a young woman cricketer scoring a winning run and her male friend running towards the field dancing with an unabashed glee, celebrating her smashing performance, as the crowd cheers on. The film ends with the powerful message of #GoodLuckGirls in recognition of today’s equal world where women are breaking barriers and pursuing all their dreams.

Said Piyush Pandey, Chairman of Global Creative & Executive Chairman, India, said, “It needed a brave client back in 1993 to go ahead with the original Cadbury cricket film that became so popular. It needed an even braver client to attempt something with an iconic film and make magic out of it. I am delighted that the team at Mondelez India and at Ogilvy India has done this magic, made it relevant, exciting, and so Cadbury, in its bold and front foot fashion.”

Commenting on the ad, Anil Viswanathan, Senior Director –  Marketing, Mondelez India, said: “From acing in the corporate world to winning Olympic medals, women are at the forefront of creating new milestones, every single day and our film is an ode to each one of them. As a brand that has always promoted gender inclusivity, contemporising an iconic campaign is our way of recognising the changing times and extending support to all the women trailblazers. An extension of our ongoing generosity narrative, the film also lands the message of how taking small yet significant steps to acknowledge the achievements of women would make the world a better place to live in. We hope this film brings back a gush of nostalgia and are confident that this refreshed version will find as much love as the original one”.

Added Sukesh Nayak, Harshad Rajadhyaksha and Kainaz Karmakar, Chief Creative Officers, Ogilvy India: “The excitement and the stress in our heads were competing with each other. To recreate such a big hit is like setting yourself up for a million opinions. The only reason we went ahead was it felt right, and it felt awesome. We loved the idea from our gut. Luckily, so did the client. Hats off to the all girls’ team who thought of it and hats off to Bob from Good Morning Films for making it so well.”

    A L Sharada
    A L Sharada

Here’s what Dr AL Sharada, Director, Population First said on the ad: “There are some ads which are iconic. The Cadbury ad was one such. The gay abandon of the young woman rushing on to the pitch dancing, the embarrassed shy smile of the man, the helpless police man and the response of the audience- one could never forget the ad. Such beautiful execution. Even today the ad does not fail to bring a smile on our faces when we remember it. What happens if the roles are reversed? A roar of appreciation and celebration. The ad touches on nostalgia and yet is so contemporary. With women cricketers doing so well and changing gender norms, the ad looks so plausible and is absolutely mind blowing.” Dr Sharada puts advertisements under the scanner for their gender sensitivity for Campaign India.

    And here’s the original ad.

  • Ogilvy films for special Raksha Bandhan packs from Cadbury

    By Our Staff

Cadbury Celebrations has launched of a special campaign for this year’s Raksha Bandhan – #MyFirstRakhi. The campaign has been created by Ogilvy India.

Commenting on the campaign, Anil Viswanathan, Senior Director – Marketing, Mondelez India, said: “For years now, Mondelez India has been an innate part of festivals and occasions like Raksha Bandhan, and has redefined the joy of gifting and shared moments with Cadbury Celebrations. Through #MyFirstRakhi, we wanted to make a meaningful difference to the lives of these kids who don’t get to experience festivals like we do. To celebrate Rakhi you need to feel the touch of its threads and hence we provided a solution to give them a sense of touch. With the focus on spreading happiness and banking on the proposition of ‘Kuch Achha Ho Jaaye, Kuch Meetha Ho Jaaye’, the campaign promises a new start for children who have missed experiencing the joy of celebrating this festival in its truest sense.”

Commenting on the campaign, Sukesh Nayak, Chief Creative Officer – Ogilvy India, added: “Raksha Bandhan is a very special festival celebrated across the country. With #MyFirstRakhi we are helping ensure that every brother who has so far missed experiencing the joy of celebrating this festival, can now feel the bonds of this beautiful relationship on his hand.”

  • Cadbury targets cyber-bullying in campaign

    By Our Staff

Cadbury Dairy Milk has rolled out the next phase of its #HeartTheHate Campaign. Initiated in 2019, the campaign confronts the issue of cyber-bullying and encourages its audiences to express generosity.

Commenting on the launch of the second edition of the campaign, Anil Viswanathan, Senior Director – Marketing, Mondelez India, said: “Cadbury Dairy Milk as a brand, believes that a little bit of generosity can go a long way and often it’s the smallest things that have the biggest impact. Cyber-bullying is something which affects everyone especially today’s youngsters. Apart from the direct impact of bullying, the apathy of the silent bystander impacts the victims in a big way. While we were pleased to see the impact created online through #HeartTheHate which leveraged this insight, in 2019, we knew there was a lot of work still left to do. Through the next phase of the campaign, we hope to further reiterate Purple Heart as an emoticon that helps express solidarity with the bullied. This campaign leverages technology in a smart way to make consumers understand how breaking their silence and standing up for the victims can make a huge difference in their lives.”

Commenting on the campaign, Neville Shah, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy India, added: “The idea makes you see the effect of cyberbullying. Something we as silent bystanders, ignore. Because while the bullying or trolling maybe just words online, they have an impact in the real world. We shouldn’t ignore it. And we shouldn’t ask the victims to ignore it. So, a little push, a gentle nudge, a soft reminder to ask us bystanders to stand up and simply share a Purple Heart. Make the person smile. Let them know it’s NOT just trolls out there.”
