  • Stage set for the 6th edition of Radio City Freedom Awards

    Radio City will look out for the top independent music talent with the launch of the sixth edition of ‘Radio City Freedom Awards’ (RCFA 6.0) with six gigs across seven cities and one grand finale. The month-long indie movement, will kick start on 13th February in Pune and will move to five other cities and culminating with a grand finale in Mumbai.

     

    Commenting on the launch, Rachna Kanwar, COO, Digital Media-Jagran Prakashan Limited said: “Over the years, Radio City Freedom Awards has become synonymous with independent music in India.   • Radio City launched Bhojpuri web radio

    Radio City launchec its 52nd web radio station , Radio City Love Guru Bhojpuri, a dedicated web radio station doling out love advice in Bhojpuri. Yes, we got the number right: 52nd web radion station. It was by Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan.

     

    Talking about the launch of Love Guru Bhojpuri, Ravi Kishan said: “I have been listening to Love Guru for years now and it is amazing that Radio City is launching a web radio station exclusively for Bhojpuri audience with Love Guru Bhojpuri.   • Radio City acquires ABP’s Friends FM

    Music Broadcast Limited (MBL) has announced that its board has approved the acquisition of the radio division of Ananda Offset Private Limited by way of slump sale. The transaction allows MBL to enter into the Kolkata market and partner Friends FM which has been in the market for over a decade.

     

    Under the terms of the agreement MBL will acquire 100 per cent ownership of the radio division of AOPL, subject to MIB approval. The transaction is by way of slump sale on a going concern basis.(Slump sale means transfer of one or more undertakings as a result of the sale for a lump sum consideration, without values being assigned to the individual assets and liabilities: caindia.com)

     

    Commenting on the announcement, Apurva Purohit, Director, MBL said:“We are happy to announce that the board today approved the acquisition of the radio division of Ananda Offset Private Limited (AOPL).  This acquisition gives us access in the Kolkata market which is considered as one of the Top 5 markets in the country which was earlier not present in our bouquet.  I am very confident that the coming together of strong and established brand like ‘Friends FM’, the high quality local team it has and our national footprint across all key cities in India will give us several opportunities to create EPS accretive synergies.”

     

     

  • Radio City launches Radiocity.in in Hindi

     

     

    Radio City has announced the launch of its web platform radiocity.in Hindi, becoming the first and only radio network in India to offer an exclusive Hindi website. Radio City was the first radio network In India to take the digital route with the launch of radiocity.in.

     

    Said Abraham ‘Abe’ Thomas, CEO, Radio City: “Regional language internet users have been growing at a much faster pace than English with 38 per cent of the total Indian internet user base expected to comprise of Hindi users by 2021. Organic engagement for local content is comparatively higher and we want to tap into this potential while providing our regional users the ease and accessibility to content in Hindi.”

     

    Commenting on the launch of the regional platform, Rachna Kanwar, COO, Digital, Jagran New Media said: “As we expand into more cities and genres this year, the first logical extension online will be to make our content available to listeners in their preferred language. As a large chunk of our audio content is in Hindi, it only follows that we make this option available to listeners who consume content in Hindi.     Radio City 91.1FM has tied up with Apple Music offer thematic playlists to the latter’s users. Radio City will curate playlists that reflect six distinct themes, giving music fans an opportunity to enjoy music that resonates with their personal tastes.

With eleven more markets targeted this year, the contest will reach listeners in 39 cities across the country. The event will provide promising singers the perfect platform to showcase their talent to the rest of the country.

  • Radio City 91.9 FM launched in Madurai

    Radio City has launched Radio City 91.9 FM in Madurai. With this launch, Radio City now becomes a 37 network station nationally and expands its footprint in the south by adding six stations to its roster.

     

    Radio City Madurai 91.9 FM presents entertaining, innovative and creative content that resonates with the pulse of the city. Keeping in mind the stations brand ideology “Rag Rag mein Daude City” the RJs will share 1000 facts about Madurai city thereby invoking the feeling of city pride – Naadi nerambellam Madurai city.

  • Radio City launches eleventh Maharashtra station in Kolhapur

     

     

    Radio City has launched its eleventh station in Maharashtra with Radio City 95 FM in Kolhapur. With this launch, notes a communique, Radio City becomes the leading radio network with respect to footprint in Maharashtra with stations in Pune, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Sangli, Nanded, Jalgaon, Akola, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur and of course Mumbai.

  • Radio City expands base in Rajasthan

    Radio City strengthens its presence in the state of Rajasthan by launching four more stations in Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner. Close on the heels of the launch of its sixth station in UP; Radio City now expands its reach to five stations in Rajasthan. Fortifying its footprint, Radio City launched Radio City Ajmer 104.8 FM on 10th December 2016 and now announced the launch of Radio City 91.9FM in Udaipur and Radio City 91.1FM in Kota followed by an upcoming station in Bikaner.

    Leading FM radio network Radio City 91.1FM has launched a new campaign “Rag Rag Mein Daude City” with 20 different city-specific tunes. With this new campaign, the brand focuses on being identified with local culture, sights and sounds.

     

    The anthem Rag Rag Mein Daude City has Sukhwinder Singh, Keerthi Sagathia and Karthik lending their voice.
