  • Radio City expands digital offering in India

    Radio City has announced a strategic expansion of its digital presence with radiocity.in. As a part of its digital strategy, listeners will be able to enjoy select terrestrial shows, along with exclusive digital content on Radio City’s web avatar. RadioCity.in will see best of terrestrial and web radio shows and will serve as the e-face of Radio City’s 39 stations.

     

    Said Rachna Kanwar, COO, Digital, Jagran New Media (Radio City is part of the Jagran group): “radiocity.in will be an integral part of our mobile-first approach. It will allow our listeners to listen to their favourite terrestrial content, in addition to the 43 web-exclusive stations, right on their digital devices, wherever they want, whenever they want.   • Radio City 91.9 FM launched in Madurai

    Radio City has launched Radio City 91.9 FM in Madurai. With this launch, Radio City now becomes a 37 network station nationally and expands its footprint in the south by adding six stations to its roster.

     

    Radio City Madurai 91.9 FM presents entertaining, innovative and creative content that resonates with the pulse of the city. Keeping in mind the stations brand ideology “Rag Rag mein Daude City” the RJs will share 1000 facts about Madurai city thereby invoking the feeling of city pride – Naadi nerambellam Madurai city.

    Music Broadcast Limited currently has 39 stations, including 11 newly acquired stations in Phase III auctions. Radio City in its third phase of expansion has recently launched Kanpur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur, Patiala, Nashik, Jamshedpur, Kolhapur and Madurai and will be launching Patna, Bikaner soon. Radio City also operates a web radio on planetradiocity.com which has 40 stations as of date.​

     

  • Radio City launches eleventh Maharashtra station in Kolhapur

     

     

    Radio City has launched its eleventh station in Maharashtra with Radio City 95 FM in Kolhapur. With this launch, notes a communique, Radio City becomes the leading radio network with respect to footprint in Maharashtra with stations in Pune, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Sangli, Nanded, Jalgaon, Akola, Nagpur, Nashik, Kolhapur and of course Mumbai.

  • Radio City expands base in Rajasthan

    Radio City strengthens its presence in the state of Rajasthan by launching four more stations in Ajmer, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner. Close on the heels of the launch of its sixth station in UP; Radio City now expands its reach to five stations in Rajasthan. Fortifying its footprint, Radio City launched Radio City Ajmer 104.8 FM on 10th December 2016 and now announced the launch of Radio City 91.9FM in Udaipur and Radio City 91.1FM in Kota followed by an upcoming station in Bikaner.

  • Radio City adopts new brand anthem

     

     

    Leading FM radio network Radio City 91.1FM has launched a new campaign “Rag Rag Mein Daude City” with 20 different city-specific tunes. With this new campaign, the brand focuses on being identified with local culture, sights and sounds.

     

    The anthem Rag Rag Mein Daude City has Sukhwinder Singh, Keerthi Sagathia and Karthik lending their voice.

     

    “City is not just in our name, it runs through our veins and that is the thought behind this campaign. The passion a person feels for his city and the pride associated with the spirit of the city is something that runs deep through the DNA of Radio City.   • Radio City launches ‘Super Singer Season 8’

    Radio City 91.1FM, announced the launch of the singing talent hunt-Radio City Super Singer Season 8. This year the contest has been extended to eight more cities. It invites all aspiring singers to showcase their talent.

     

    Speaking about the launch, Kartik Kalla, EVP and National Head – Programming, Marketing, AudaCITY, Radio City said, “The journey of seven seasons of Radio City Super Singer has been an endeavor in itself. It has undoubtedly carved its mark and given some great talent to the industry. We are certain that Season 8 will also be a phenomenal success across the country.”

     

    The theme this year of ‘Jinki Rag Rag Mein Hai Singing’ takes forward the brand proposition of ‘Rag Rag mein Daude City’. Abe is an experienced leader with a proven track record of running large media businesses, having demonstrated the ability to work with high performance teams to build & scale businesses within a competitive environment. He has deep knowledge across various media platforms such as print, broadcasting (TV & Radio), online & mobile, backed with over 20 years of hands-on leadership experience across organizations such as Red FM, MTV,  Sony and Indian Express.

    In his new role, he will report into Apurva Purohit, who was recently elevated to become President of the Jagran Group post its acquisition of Radio City earlier in the year.

  • Radio City retains ‘Best Place to Work’ tag

    Standing a cut above the rest for the fifth time in a row, Radio City 91.1 FM was ranked high amongst the top 25 ‘Great Place to Work’ in the country. Radio City stayed right on top having been awarded as the ‘Best Company’ in the Media & Entertainment space consequently for the second year.

     

    Radio City also improved its overall ranking to 18 amongst India’s Best Company to Work For 2015.

     

    In all, Radio City bagged several esteemed titles- India’s Best Company to work For 2015 – Rank 18; India’s Best Company to work For 2015 – Rank 1 in Media; India’s Best Company for Employee Participation and Involvement – Rank 3; India’s Best Company for Fairness in Performance Management Systems – Rank 1;   India’s Best Company for Hiring & Welcoming – Rank 2.

  • Radio City 91.1FM is now part of a Jagran Prakashan

    Radio City 91.1FM is now officially a part of Jagran Prakashan Pvt. Ltd. The deal was signed off by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday (May 28).

    While being a part of Jagran family will enable Radio City to offer a more comprehensive bouquet of services to the advertisers, the radio network will continue to operate under the management control of its current leadership.

    Talking about the development, Apurva Purohit, CEO, Radio City 91.1FM said “This is great news for both Jagran and Radio City and more importantly, signals a desire amongst all stakeholders to see that the FM industry flourishes and grows. I am glad that the approval is in place now.  With this, the pioneer and leader in FM gets to be a part of one of the largest media houses in India. We now look forward to expanding aggressively in the upcoming Phase III and cross leveraging on strengths”

  • Malishka stars in Red FM’s collaborative music video with WR

    Red FM has joined hands with Western Railway to create a music video with RJ Malishka, aimed at deepening the connection between Mumbaikars and the Western Railway. The music video is titled ‘Lay Bhaari’. The move is interesting as the RJ has been known to taken on Mumbai civic infrastructure (essentially the roads) every monsoon. And since the tune is catchy, the video has gone viral several times over, embarrassing the governments of the day.

    Commenting on the collaboration, Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, said: “The ‘Lay Bhaari’ song sung by RJ Malishka appeals in her ‘bindaas’ Mumbai lingo to follow rules and regulations for a happy and safe train journey. The song gives several social messages like, security at stations, special provisions for ladies and Divyangjan passengers, Not Boarding/Alighting a moving train, Not traveling on the footboard of the train, etc.

  • Kuku FM introduces new campaign

    Kuku FM, the platform for audiobooks and shows, has launched a new ad film titled ‘Koi Baat Nahi’, conceptualised and executed by The Ensemble.

    Speaking about their collaboration with The Ensemble, Kunj Sanghvi, Head of Content at KuKu FM, said: “Making ads for a content offering is a doubly challenging task as the ads also become a proof of the quality of the actual offering, which is audiobooks and shows in our case.   • Spotify launches inhouse creative agency

    Audio streaming and media service provider Spotify has launched its new in-house creative agency – Creative Lab.

    As part of this, the local Creative Lab teams in the markets will provide “more local and nuanced insights, and work closely with brands and agencies to build campaigns through workshops, inspiration sessions, and collaborative ideation and concepting”. Brands such as The Coca-Cola Company and Royal Enfield, among others, are already using Creative Lab to strengthen their brand storytelling in India.
