Speaking on the launch of the campaign, Asha Kharga, CMO, Axis Bank said, “Experience Axis” is a single unified idea that ties all the value offerings on cards across shopping, dining and travel. It elevates the brand imagery by focusing on experiences rather than just deals. The monochromatic treatment coupled with Deepika’s playful charm also makes the films a clutter-breaking visual delight.”

The campaign, conceptualised by Lowe Lintas Mumbai, showcases Deepika Padukone, the brand ambassador of Axis Bank in candid moments. She is seen experiencing shopping and dining privileges that Axis Bank cards uniquely have to offer.

Said Arun Iyer, Chairman & Chief Creative Officer – Lowe Lintas: “The brief was to differentiate ourselves within the category. Our starting point was based on an observation that young working Indians, are more open to spending on what they desire than what they need. While cards are the enablers of this behavior, when we delved deeper to understand their point-of-view we realized that they don’t see this as ‘spending money’ but more as ‘gathering experiences’ – something they value much more than ‘material possessions’ Hence our approach was to position the range of Axis Credit n Debit Cards as the window to the world of experiences called ‘Experience Axis’ We felt Deepika would be ideal to bring this alive given that she is also a young working professional and therefore the connect would be seamless.”

  • Deepika plays to the festive tune for Coca Cola’s latest campaign

    By A Correspondent

It’s that time of the year again, when festivities, celebrations and joyful togetherness fill the air. And it’s also that time  of the year when the soft drink giants come up with new advertising campaigns to leapfrog consumption. Coca-Cola has unveiled a new campaign promoting its ‘Taste the Feeling’ credo.

The campaign sees Deepika as a young confident girl who along with her brother end up at a wrong house. Blissfully unaware of this fact, both are welcomed warmly by the hostess, portrayed by Renuka Shahane, however the brother soon realises the mistake. Before they can make a quick exit, the sight of the bubbly Coca-Cola being poured for them captivates Deepika, rendering her unable to take her eyes off the drink.

Talking about the new campaign, Debabrata Mukherjee, VP – Marketing & Commercial, Coca-Cola India, said: “Making every moment special is our core belief and this year’s social occasions campaign reiterates how Coca-Cola is the perfect companion for the both friends and strangers alike. It not only helps bring people together but also provides a great uplifting refreshing beverage experience. Standing strong as the preferred choice of beverage for guests, this campaign is a testimonial to how Coca-Cola brings about the feeling of celebrations and makes everyone feel right at home.”

Commenting on the campaign, Prasoon Joshi, Executive Chairperson and Creative Director, President, McCann Asia Pacific added: “We as Indians take pride in guesting or mehmaan-Nawaazi. The new TVC takes a different spin on guesting. We have looked at it purely from a guest’s point of view & accentuated the desirability for Coca-Cola, in a fun way. The ability of Coca-Cola to bring people together and make moments special remains at the centre, like when Deepika says in the ad ‘aise hi chalejaate toh Coke buramaan jaata!’”.

  • Britannia Good Day urges Indians to smile more

    By A Correspondent

Britannia Good Day has launched a new campaign with the proposition: Smile More for a Good Day. Through this campaign, the brand attempts to bring back the smiles and encourages Indians to smile more. Aligned to the brand’s philosophy “It’s a Smile that makes a Good day”, the campaign captures the everyday smiles that helps cut across barriers, brings people closer and spreads happiness.

The campaign kicked-off with a TVC featuring Deepika Padukone with a narrative exemplifying – discover your own smile, then multiply it by sharing it with the world. The TVC narrates the story of the girl next door going about her daily life with a smile for everyone spreading joy to all – from the busy neighbour glued to her phone to the newspaper vendor and when Deepika needs it, a little girl helps her find her smile. The background track Ek Smile De Zara Muskura underscores the message of Smile More, adding to the overall appeal of the film.

Apart from the TVC, Britannia Good Day took to social media to spread the Smile More message. “A smile is one of the simplest gestures known to mankind, an expression that denotes sociability and happiness. And yet why do we Indians smile so less? From that question arose the brand purpose of Good Day, which is to make people smile more. We believe it’s a powerful idea, one that a large brand like Good Day which embodies Smiles right from product to logo, is well positioned to propagate,” says Ali Harris Shere, VP – Marketing, Britannia Industries Limited.

Speaking on the campaign, Subramani Ramachandran, Executive Creative Director- Asia Pacific, McCann Erickson who has scripted the new TVC said: “The brief was to appropriate smile to the brand. So we relied on cultural truths. Culturally in India we are taught not to unnecessarily smile or talk to strangers. In fact, the usual narrative is ‘am I mad to smile at people I don’t know’ ‎but in the west people always greet you and never blankly stare at you. We wanted to ‎change that here hence if you see the film we have used real life situations that we have either gone through or seen sometimes in life. It’s a film that’s very close to my heart as it’s not just product selling but a statement a brand is making. And no other brand except Good Day can do it”.
