  • Zee South Cluster contributes to daily wage workers

    In the fight against the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, Zee Entertainment has offered financial relief to the daily wage workers in the television industry.  As a part of this, the Zee South Cluster has cumulatively donated a large sum of Rs. 1.35 crore to support over 1000 daily wage workers across the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala. The aid has been directly sent to their bank accounts, thus avoiding delays.

  • Zee celebrates spirit of #ExtraordinaryFamilies

    Zee Entertainment has partnered with Lowe Lintas to drive home a message of positivity with a #FilmFromHome on the occasion of Family Day. In continuation with its earlier campaign of #HumAndarCoronaBahar where Zee used shoes as a metaphor for different family members, this film too utilises different household elements to represent family members. With the film and content production being suspended and with the new norm of working from home, the film was shot on a DSLR inside a house and all the post-production work of editing, grading, music and voice over was executed by various artists working from home.

  • Zee unveils new anthem in collaboration with SBI Life

    Zee Entertainment has joined hands with SBI Life Insurance and Mindshare to produce the ‘We Can, We Will!’ anthem, which involves 27 TV artists singing the anthem in their local languages to invigorate the nation to fight against Covid-19.

     

    Expressing his views on the collaboration, Ashish Sehgal – Chief Growth Officer, Advertisement Revenue, Zee Entertainment Enterprises said: “As a network, Zee has always believed in ‘Customer First’ and this venture of creating an anthem of collective unity for SBI Life with Zee is truly one such classic example from our Content & Partnership team. Similarly, SBI Life with the thought of the anthem to inspire the collective willpower of the nation, hit a synergy with Zee when they during difficult times thought of creating this anthem to rally our nation’s battle against the corona outbreak. The anthem has been executed with 27 powerful influencers of Zee in nine languages from their homes and edited remotely to take it live across the network through a roadblock, truly exemplifying Zee’s philosophy of Extraordinary Together through an extraordinary feat.”

  • Zee intensifies drive for Covid-19 relief, offers financial relief to 5k+ daily wage-earners

    Media and Entertainment conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zee) has announced a financial relief to over 5000 daily wage-earners, working directly or indirectly for the company in its overall production ecosystem.

     

    In order to further support Prime Ministers’ Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM Cares Fund), ZEEL will leverage the strength of its global media network across encouraging people to contribute. Over and above this step, Zee has also provided an opportunity to all of its 3500 employees to offer voluntary contributions towards the PM Cares Fund through an intranet portal. The Company will match the corpus collected from the employee contribution and the collective amount will be donated to PM Cares Fund.

     

    Speaking on this announcement, Punit Goenka, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Zee Entertainment said: “We stand committed to financially support all the daily wage earners working in our production ecosystem. We firmly believe in the extraordinary power of coming together and fighting against a situation.     Earlier, Zee had implemented an initiative titled #BreakTheCoronaOutbreak where content across 40+ channels was paused for a 30-second break throughout the day, encouraging viewers to wash their hands. In line with the decision undertaken by Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF), television channel Zee Anmol has also been available free-of-cost to all viewers across all DTH platforms and cable TV networks for a period of two months.

     

    On the company’s digital side, Zee5 ensured that the internet bandwidth across the country was optimized by replacing High Definition (HD) content to Standard Definition (SD) content. Zee5 also ensured that the viewers remained calm and composed during the lockdown phase with its #BeCalmBeEntertained initiative.

  • Zee to launch Kannada movie channel ‘Zee Picchar’

    Zee Entertainment is set to further its presence in Karnataka with the launch of Kannada movie channel, Zee Picchar. To be launched on March 1, Zee Picchar boasts of a wide spectrum of films across genres and generations from the industry’s finest stars. With a robust library of 350+ films, the channel will provide wholesome entertainment to movie fans.

     

    Notes a communique: “The first look of Zee Picchar was unveiled on-air on Zee Kannada on February 9 with a promotional video, introducing it as the ultimate destination for fans of Sandalwood movies.”

     

     

  • ABP News appoints Mona Jain as Chief Revenue Officer

Jain will be responsible for the organisation’s revenue efforts across ANN channels, live events and digital platforms. Jain has spent nearly 30 years in media, marketing and promotions, the last six years have been in Zee Entertainment as Executive Vice President, AD Sales.

  • Star India, Zee & Viacom18 announce festive pricing

    In keeping with the festive spirit, Star India, Zee and Viacom have announced special pricing for it’s a la carte channels.

     

    Said Sanjay Gupta, Country Manager, Star and Disney India Star on its ‘Tyohar ka Upahar’ promotional offer for its 16 a-la-carte channels: “The Star network is known to offer best-in-class content inspiring a billion imaginations, making us a household name today. With this promotional offer for the festive season, we hope to spread even more cheer and get more families to experience and engage with our varied entertainment offerings.”

     

    As for Zee, the festive offer sees the a la carte price of Zee TV, Zee Marathi, Zee Bangla, Zee Telugu, Zee Kannada and Zee Sarthak been reduced from the present Rs 19 to Rs 12 per month.

In line with this special festive price, Viacom18 is launching a consumer awareness campaign ‘Har Din Diwali’ encouraging viewers to now subscribe to these channels at its new price point.  As part of this offer, the a-la-carte price of COLORS and COLORS Kannada has been reduced from the present price of 19 to 12 per month each.

  • IAA re-elects Punit Goenka as its President

    The International Advertising Association (IAA) has re-elected Zee Entertainment MD and CEO Punit Goenka as its President. Megha Tata (MD Discovery South Asia) was elected Vice President. The other office bearers are Jaideep Gandhi (Secretary), Pradeep Dwivedi (Treasurer) and Ramesh Narayan Immediate Past President.

     

    The members elected to the Managing Committee are: Anant Goenka (Indian Express Group) Abhishek Karnani (Free Press Journal) Janak Sarda (Deshdoot) MV Shreyams Kumar (Mathrubhumi Group) and I. Venkat (Eenadu Group)

  • Publicis Capital bags creative mandate of Zee5 India

    Publicis Capital has bagged the creative mandate of Zee5 India, OTT platform from Zee Entertainment. The agency will manage the creative duties for the leading OTT brand across its AVOD, SVOD, Regional SVOD and Trade (B2B) verticals. The account will be serviced out of Mumbai.
