  • Sony acquires rights for Hero Asian hockey

    Sony Sports Network has acquired the media rights to live broadcast the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2024, set to take place in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, People’s Republic of China, from September 8 to 17, 2024.

  • Sony Sports secures rights for CCL Season 10

    Sony Sports Network has secured television broadcast rights for the 10th season of Celebrity Cricket League (CCL).

    It will feature some of the biggest names from India’s film industry, including Salman Khan, Kichcha Sudeepa, Sohail Khan, Akhil Akkineni, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sonu Sood, Manoj Tiwari, Aarya, Jisshu Sengupta, Riteish Deshmukh, and more. The tournament will be held at various venues, including Sharjah (UAE), as well as multiple cities in India, such as Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Trivandrum and Vizag, which will also host the playoffs and finals.

  • Australian Open on Sony Sports

    Sony Sports Network is telecasting live the Australian Open 2024 which started yesterday, January 14. Sony Sports’ English and Hindi will be on till the end of the tournament, that’s January 28, 2024.

     

    Leading up to the tournament, the network launched its ‘#SlamOfTheGreats’ campaign paying tribute to some of the greatest tennis moments in the history of the game, and also featuring Sania Mirza announcing her arrival to world tennis with her first Grand Slam win in 2009.

  • Sony Sports to broadcast WTA250 Chennai Open 2022

    Sony Sports Network is all set to broadcast the WTA250 Chennai Open 2022, the international women’s tennis championship,  that will be played for the first time since 2008. The tournament will be aired live on Sony Ten 2 channels and will be available to Livestream on their premium OTT platform SonyLIV.

     

    Notes a communique: “After a 14-year hiatus, India will finally witness an event organized by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). The competition is expected to get more intense as the tournament will see participation from top seeded players like world number 29, Alison Riske-Amritraj, world number 60, Varvara Gracheva, world number 70, Magda Linette, world number 87 Rebecca Peterson and more. The event will also witness wild card entries in the form of Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard and India’s number one, Ankita Raina.”

     

    The coverage will be on Sony Ten 2 channels between September 12 and 18, 2022.

  • Sony to air French Open in 4 languages

    Sony Sports Network (SSN) is going multi-lingual in the live airing of the French Open (aka Roland-Garros) which started yesreday. This is the first year that SSN will be showing the Grand Slam event and the broadcaster is going all out with the live coverage of the event in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
