  • Cheil India hires creative talent, ups bar for ‘Ideas that Move’

    Cheil Worldwide SW Asia (Cheil India) has announced an expansion to its team in India. This announcement comes close on the heels of Cheil’s celebration of its 40th anniversary where it unveiled a new corporate identity – ‘Ideas that move’ – that reflects its vision.

     

    The agency has brought in Anupama Ramaswamy and Simran Sahni as Group Creative Directors. The much-awarded duo has moved from JWT where both were working as Senior Creative Directors.

     

    Recently, Navin Theeng and Somenath Chakraborty moved from Contract Advertising to join the Cheil creative team as Group Creative Director and Sr. Creative Director, respectively. On the digital front, Shveta Singh moved from Euro RSCG, to join as Senior Planning Director and Siddhartha Deshaprabhu from Fashos.com, a direct-2-consumer ecommerce footwear e-tailing brand, joined as General Manager -Digital Advertising & Media. The creative teams report into Nima Namchu, while the digital teams report into Rajesh Bhatia.

  • Cheil bags Walt Disney Co, L’Oreal’s Casting Creme Gloss

    Cheil Worldwide SW Asia is charting a new course with new business wins – The Walt Disney Company and L’Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss.

     

    Cheil’s Shopper Marketing and Digital capability clearly demonstrated next level thinking required for consumer engagement for both these brands. For L’Oreal Paris Casting Creme Gloss, Cheil will be creating unique Social + Shopper experiences around the L’Oreal My Girls Go Glam with Sonam campaign. As regards The Walt Disney Company, Cheil will be working across Disney brands including Disney Marvel, Disney Fashion Stations/Stores, Planes and the Disney Princess Academy.

  • Cheil Worldwide SW Asia appoints Hari Krishnan as COO

    Cheil Worldwide SW Asia has announced the appointment of Hari Krishnan as its Chief Operating Officer who will start in his role from January 2013. He joins from WPP where he was Head, Global Team Ford- a consortium of JWT, Mindshare and Wunderman. Mr Krishnan will lead Cheil Worldwide SW Asia’s growth agenda.

     

    At WPP Global Team Ford, Mr Krishnan set up the first co-located office of three different specialist agencies for WPP in the Asia-Pacific Region. Krishnan is a well-known advertising and communication figure with a career spanning over two decades where he has held senior leadership roles with JWT India, Grey Worldwide and Bates India, among others.

He has a proven track record in developing corporate strategy while managing on-going operations. His strength in building teams and people development is a perfect fit for Cheil.     In a career span of 20 years in advertising, Mr Krishnan has worked with organisations such as WPP Global Team Ford, JWT India, Grey Worldwide, Bates India, Ogilvy & Mather, Clarion and Anthem. Prior to establishing WPP Global Team Ford India, Mr Krishnan was at JWT India as Executive Business Director, PepsiCo Beverages. At Grey, he led the agency as General Manager and Branch head – New Delhi. Prior to that whilst he was at Bates India, he played a pivotal role in consolidating the teams after the Bates takeover of Clarion. Preceding this, he has worked at Ogilvy & Mather and Anthem (now TBWA).
