  • Dainik Bhaskar hosts financial seminar in Mumbai

    DB Corp Limited (DBCL) announced the successful conclusion of its event last week that saw a representation of over 70 professionals from the financial services industry including top merchant bankers, analysts from reputed broking houses as well as leading media and advertising agencies.

     

    The event with theme “India’s growing equity culture” Joint Secretary – DIPAM, Ministry of Finance Dr Dheeraj Bhatnagar as Chief Guest who also delivered the keynote address. Bhatnagar reiterated the government’s efforts and commitment to reforms that have paved the way for stronger economic growth. Dr Bhaskar Das, Executive President, DB Corp presented the current capital market environment and how equity has been delivering breakthrough performance as an asset class triggering more allocation towards financial savings, primarily driven post demonetisation.   • BD joins DB today, as Exec President

    Pardon the licence we’ve taken to play with the initials of two institutions in India’s media and entertainment and sector. An all-new journey in the lives of the two Bhaskars of medialand begins today. Veteran mediaperson Dr Bhaskar Das has joined the Dainik Bhaskar group today (Nov 2) as Executive President. Das has spent over three decades with The Times of India group and the last five-odd years with the Zee group.

    As reported by MxMIndia on September 11, Das’ contract expired with the Zee group in late October.

    This is a group-level position, and we are told by sources that Das will report to Bhaskar group director Girish Agarwaal and will work along with Satyajit Sengupta, chief of corporate sales and marketing, who incidentally also worked with The Times of India group before he joined DB.

  • Harrish Bhatia to move as President – Print at Dainik Bhaskar

    Harrish M Bhatia, CEO  of M​y​ FM,  is being elevated and brought back to DB group core business of print media  as President. In the new role, all state COOs of DB group, will report to him. This move will be effective starting November​ 2, ​2017.

     

    Bhatia joined M​y​ FM in Oct​ ’2001 and spent 16 years of his career with ​the group. Prior to moving to the ​r​adio division of the group​,​ he spent around ​six​ years in print  where he was head of the Rajasthan Unit. Subsequently, he laid the foundation of Divya Bhaskar in Gujarat and also led the Corp​orate​ Sales & Marketing vertical of the ​p​rint ​b​usiness.  Then in the year 2007, he took charge of ​the ​radio ​b​usiness and established M​y​ FM.

     

    ​Speaking​ on the ​development, Sudhir Agarwal, Managing Director, DB Corp Ltd​ said:, “Harrish is an old hand in the system, with his vast exposure across brands and categories and deep understanding of the various functions in the Print business, he will be able to take the business to new heights. I wish him all the very best in the new role.”

     

    Rahul Namjoshi, who was earlier the Corporate Sales Head, has been elevated as Business Head, MY FM keeping in view Bhatia’s movement into print business. In his new role​,​ ​Namjoshi will report to Pawan Agarwal, Deputy Managing Director. ​Namjoshi joined the organi​s​ation in March​ 20​07 and held the role of Regional Head Gujarat and Cluster Head – NCR till 2012. In 2012 he moved into the role of National Corporate Sales Head and has been also handling the client solutions team and the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat.

     

    ​Added Pawan Agarwal​: “Rahul has been with us since 2007, his strong understanding of the radio business both at the retail and corporate level made him the obvious choice for us, I am sure M​y​ FM will achieve new heights under his leadership.”

  • Dainik Bhaskar launches Surat edition

    DB Corp Limited (DBCL) announced the launch of Dainik Bhaskar’s new edition from Surat in Gujarat. With this launch, DB Corp Ltd now publishes seven newspapers with 63 editions across 14 states across India.

  • Dainik Bhaskar bags 2 platinums for ‘Zidd Karo, Duniya Badlo’

    DB Corp has bagged two platinum awards from the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) for its campaign ‘ZiddKaro, DuniyaBadlo’.

     

    The awards were conferred for Dainik Bhaskar Group’s Annual Report FY 16 and for the Corporate Calendar 2017 at LACP Spotlight Awards 2016/17 organised by LACP. The Annual Report and calendar themed ‘Zidd’ were ranked at 4th and 5th positions respectively in the overall top 25 global list. The DainikBhaskar Group is the only Indian company to feature in the Top 25 Winners Gallery.

  • 11th edition of Khumaar takes place in Mumbai

    The eleventh edition of Adveritising Club Chief Operating Officer Bipin R Pandit’s Khumaar took place on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Indian Education Soceity’s Manik Sabhagriha in Mumbai. The musical extravaganza sponsored by Colors, was powered by Dainik Bhaskar, in association with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited and was attended by 650 music enthusiasts and several professionals from A&M.

     

    The theme this year was ‘Valentine Special – Only Romantic Songs’. A fine blend of old and new songs were rendered by nine singers of repute who are hugely experienced and sing professionally for their living. Khumaar unearths talent and gives scope to a budding artist under the segment ‘Khumaar Ki Khoj’, said Bipin Pandi. “The pleasure of giving a platform to a talented person gives immense satisfaction that is beyond description in words,” he added.

  • Dainik Bhaskar emerges second largest digital media group in India

    DB Corp Limited (DBCL) announced that according to ComScoreratings of November 2016, DB Digital is now the second largest digital media group in India. Bhaskar Group sites at the second place, dominates the position with 1.02 billion page views which stands with a wide lead of around three times to the media house at the third place.

     

    Across all digital properties demonstrating steady growth, unique visitors has risen by 124 per cent YOY to 33.4 million in November 2016 from 14.9 million in November 2015 and page views grew by 228per centYOY to 1.02 billion for the month of November 2016 from 312 million in November 2015. DB Digital’s improving operational performance driven by various advertising monetisation efforts, hyper-local news and content coverage and exciting audience activation are also translating into better revenue growth for the business.

  • Dainik Bhaskar is largest circulated daily, as per RNI report

    DB Corp Limited (DBCL), publishers of Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar, have announced that Dainik Bhaskar it is the largest circulated multi-edition daily in India. This was shared by Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India while releasing the Press In India Report 2015-16 prepared by Registrar of Newspapers of India (RNI).

     

    This year Dainik Bhaskar was ranked world’s fourth largest circulated daily by WAN-IFRA in its World Press Trends 2016 report, notes a communiqué, adding: “Audit Bureau of Circulation, in its latest audit report of Jan-Jun 2016, has also ranked Dainik Bhaskar as India’s largest circulated daily.”

  • Pradeep Dwivedi quits Dainik Bhaskar, may join Sakal

    It’s been doing the rounds for a few weeks, but now it’s confirmed. Pradeep Dwivedi, Chief Corporate Sales and Marketing Officer of the Dainik Bhaskar group, is moving on. He has confirmed his exit to MxMIndia, though has indicated that he will indicate his next assignment in a week. According to rumours, he is likely to join the Sakal Media Group as Chief Executive Officer.

     

    Dwivedi, an active member of industry associations like Advertising Club and the International Advertising Association (India Chapter), joined Bhaskar a little over four years back from a career outside of the media.  Then, he had had an eight-year run at Tata Teleservices, and left at the position of Regional Chief Operating Officer & SVP- Enterprise Business.  Earlier he has worked with American Express Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, GE Capital and Eicher Motors.

     

    Meanwhile, the Pune-headquartered Sakal group has been without a CEO since a year. Dwivedi is likely to replace the vacancy caused by Jwalant Swaroop’s exit from the top job with effect from November 1, 2015.

     

  • Dainik Bhaskar’s ‘Zidd Karo…’ wins Gold at Montreux Swiss Festival

    Dainik Bhaskar Group won the Gold Award for ‘Zidd Karo, Duniya Badlo’ on girl child literacy under the category ‘Corporate Film’ at the Golden Award of Montreux, 2016.

     

    The Golden Award is the first international advertising, multimedia, event and corporate film competition in Europe awarding creative excellence.

     

    The jury 2016 consisted of personalities from 19 countries, among them CEOs of advertising agencies, Creative Directors, Global Marketing and Communication Managers of international clients, Media Designers, Professors of Communications & Directors.

     

    The ad campaign had a high decibel launch recently across TV, print, social, digital and outdoor (in unmetro markets). The campaign handle #achchi zidd has been trending on Twitter while the film has registered more than 3 million video views on Facebook in 6 days.

    Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar and Divya Marathi announced the launch of Dainik Bhaskar’s new edition from Bhagalpur in Bihar.
