Q. If a political party offers a huge sum of money to a newspaper or channel to air positive news in the run up to the elections, would you say it’s fair for the news company to strike a deal?
A. I can’t answer speculative questions. Besides, no channel worth its salt would execute such an arrangement as it would affect its long-term interest and credibility. Viewers are not gullible or unintelligent. In the ultimate analysis, loyal viewership is the real asset to any channel and their interest are never compromised for short-term perspective.
