Q. It’s a year since the Covid-19 pandemic-led Lockdown was declared last year. If you had been asked by the government to take charge of the pandemic, what’s the one thing that you would’ve done differently?
A. Pontification is an easy exercise but to plan and execute a life and livelihood challenge flawlessly is not a child’s play. Having said that, as an Indian, may I articulate the collective wish:
1. strengthen the health care system so that it gets inclusive, preventive and affordable,
2. Government investment in infrastructure and impetus to develop self-reliance in every business sector gets accelerated so that jobs are created. These steps would spur consumer demand and would bring the economy back on the rails,
3. Finally, peace and stability (inspite of VUCA in the global operating environment) are important preconditions for sustained development with social responsibility.
