An interdepartmental cricket match was held every year between the Marketing Department and Engineering Department of one company.

The day of the game, as hard as the marketers tried, the engineers whipped them thoroughly.

In their best tradition, the Marketing Department decided to find the best spin they could on the dismal result. Their notice on the bulletin board the next day read:

“The Marketing Department is pleased to announce that for the recently-completed cricket season, we came in 2nd place, having lost just one game all year. The Engineering Department, however, had a rather dismal season, as they won only one game all year.”
