  • News9 launches U-14 football talent hunt

    TV9 Network’s English news brand News9 has announced the launch of ‘Indian Tigers & Tigresses’, billed as the largest-ever football talent hunt aimed at girls and boys below 14 years of age.

    The occasion witnessed the participation of stalwarts of German football including Kay Dammholz, Head of International Media at the German Football Association (DFB), Peter Leible from Bundesliga, Gerhard Riedl, CEO of Riespo in Austria, Julia Farr of Borussia Dortmund in Asia, Anselm Küchle from the International Football Institute in Germany, Philip Klöckl, CEO of Strykerlabs in Austria, and Valentina Putz, also from Strykerlabs.

    Commenting on the initiative, Barun Das, MD and CEO of TV9 Network said: “The News9 ‘Indian Tigers & Tigresses’ initiative is a matter of great pride for us, as it takes football in a whole new direction in India. We envision a future where Indian footballers are given opportunities to be in the global spotlight akin to any of the major footballing nations in the West. This is also one of the pillars that need to be leveraged in India’s ascendancy in the global head table. That starts by giving these players a level playing field, by making football a serious career option for these talented youngsters, and training them to be world-class players from a young age. This is not just about finding out what you are good at – it is about opening doors and lighting up thousands of dreams”.

    The talent hunt will run April through July and will be amplified across TV9 Network platforms reaching an approximate audience of over 220 crore viewers nationwide. Moreover, TV9 Digital, which has over 100 million unique users, will promote the initiative across all its multi-lingual platforms including its YouTube channels.

    Registration for the talent hunt will begin shortly, with European football scouts set to evaluate the entries. Selected candidates will undergo scouting at various venues across India by the end of June.

    Grand EMVIE Thirty-five agencies participated to submit 1892 entries, of which 471 entries were shortlisted. Other than one Grand Emvie, 44 Gold and 68 Silver trophies were presented in addition to 88 Bronze prizes.

    Wavemaker India also bagged the Grand Emvie for Mondelēz India’s Cadbury Celebrations. Mindshare with 460 points stood second and EssenceMediacom with 325 points stood third. It was indeed a GroupM show at the top of the agency roster.

    The Emvie for Diversity Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) was awarded to Mindshare for Dove’s Stop The Beauty Test. The Young Emvie of The Year was awarded to Mindshare’s Rowena Rodrigues for Dove – Crafting Cannes-worthy Brilliance!

    World Oral Health Day falls on March 20 (that’s tomorrow) and TV9 Network and Sensodyne have joined hands to spread awareness to the people on following their “funda-dental” duties and being sensitive to oral health.

  • Money9 Mega tables Annual Personal Finance Pulse Survey

    Money9 Mega Annual Personal Finance Pulse survey shed light on the financial landscape of India. More than 22% of Indians have been forced to deplete their lifetime savings due to unexpected medical emergencies. Despite signs of economic recovery, a daunting 56% of Indian households live in constant fear of job loss.

     

    However, amidst these challenges, India continues to dream. The survey indicates that 3% of families plan to purchase a two-wheeler or car in the next six months, while over 10% have their sights set on acquiring a smartphone within the same period.

     

    This survey was conducted in collaboration with Research Triangle Institute (RTI) International. RTI International has a proven track record of conducting research studies for various clients, including esteemed organizations such as the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, and the World Health Organization.

     

    This data comes from Money9’s annual Personal Finance Pulse survey, the most extensive and comprehensive examination of Indian households’ income, expenditures, standard of living, savings, investments, and future aspirations. Money9, India’s first multi-media and multi-language Personal Finance platform, is also the fastest-growing super app, and it is part of the TV9 Network, India’s premier news network.

     

    The 2023 edition of the survey has covered more than 35,000 households across 20 states, spanning 1,170 locations and 115 districts in India. It represents a diverse cross-section of age groups, income levels, and geographical locations, encompassing both urban and rural populations. Special attention has been given to urban and suburban households.

  • TV9 Network to host Financial Freedom Summit today (Mar 15)

    Money9, India’s first and only multimedia multilingual personal finance platform, promoted by TV9 Network, will host a day long Financial Freedom Summit (FFS) in Mumbai today.

     

    The Financial Freedom Summit (FFS) comes in the backdrop of India’s first independent country wide personal finance survey conducted by Money9 late last year.

     

    While India has made significant strides in its financial inclusion agenda during the last decade, the Money9 Personal Finance Survey found out that we were yet far away from achieving our true goal of financial freedom for 1.4 billion citizens of the country.
