  • Shemaroo Entertainment expands DCB Services

    Shemaroo Entertainment is expanding in the global telco, ISP (Internet Service Provider), and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) landscape by collaborating with four international telecom operators to extend its OTT platform, ShemarooMe. In this strategic move, it has effected partnerships with Zain, STC, and Mobily in Saudi Arabia, along with Vodafone in Qatar, facilitated by DCB (Direct Carrier Billing) partners, 3A net and one97 communications.

  • Shemaroo & Seven Network collaborate

    Shemaroo Entertainment Limited has joined with the Seven Network, one of Australia’s media companies to launch Shemaroo Bollywood, the first-ever Bollywood F.A.S.T. (free ad-supported streaming TV) channel in Australia. This strategic collaboration marks Shemaroo’s first venture with a major broadcaster in the region and sets the stage for an immersive Indian entertainment experience for Australian viewers. Shemaroo Bollywood will be available for free on Seven Network’s streaming platform, 7plus+, providing seamless access to a vast library of iconic Indian/Bollywood movies.

  • Hiren ‘Shemaroo’ Gada is Prez of Entertainment Content Owners Association

    The Entertainment Content Owners Association of India (ECOA) has elected Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo Entertainment as its new President. This was announced at the recently held 58th Annual General Meeting of the association. The other officebearers of the association who were elected includes RK Duggal, Vice President, Ashok Jain – Hon. Secretary and Narendra Hirawat – Treasurer.

  • Shemaroo Entertainment onboards Arghya Chakravarty as COO

    Shemaroo Entertainment has appointed Arghya Chakravarty as Chief Operating Officer (COO). He will be spearheading the overall business operations of Shemaroo and will work with Hiren Gada, CEO, and the senior management team to implement the strategic vision and values of the firm.

     

    Chakravarty was until recently with Disney Star India where he was Executive Vice President – Ad Sales, Entertainment Business. In a career spanning close to three decades, AC has held various leadership positions in different sectors across a gamut of reputed organisations like Times Innovative Media, PepsiCo, and Asian Paints.

     

    Meanwhile, Kranti Gada will now pass on the baton to Chakravarty. Kranti Gada will now be the President, New Business Opportunities focusing on her passion and strengths to identify and build new business opportunities for the organisation.

  • Sandeep Gupta to head Shemaroo’s broadcast biz

    Last week, Shemaroo Entertainment announced the appointment of Sandeep Gupta as COO – Broadcasting Business. This announcement comes at a time as the company announced its strategic entry into broadcast business with two channel launches – Hindi GEC Shemaroo TV and Marathi movie channel “Shemaroo MarathiBana”, launch.  With this move, Shemaroo will consolidate its entire broadcast offerings under Gupta.

     

    Subhash Somani, Deputy Vice President, who has spearheaded Shemaroo DTH VAS will now take additional charge of Shemaroo TV. Somani will oversee the entire business for Shemaroo TV – Content Production & Planning and Channel Distribution among others. Meanwhile, Vivek Koka, Assistant Vice President, who heads the Bollywood category, will now be given additional responsibility of leading the Marathi Movie channel ‘Shemaroo MarathiBana’

     

    In addition, Rakesh Jain, Programming Head, will be responsible for the programming and creative development of the Hindi GEC, Shemaroo TV and will work closely with the team to strengthen the channel’s position. Also, Yojana Bahalkar Bhave, Deputy General Manager, will lead programming for Marathi movie channel, Shemaroo MarathiBana.
