  • SPN unveils #KoiKasarNahi campaign for 18th Asian Games

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has announced its marketing and digital initiatives for the just-started 18th Asian Games 2018. The Games are currently being held in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang and on till Septmeber 2.

     

    As part of the campaign, SPN will be hosting a Fan Flame on its microsite. Inspired by the Asian Games torch that burns in the cauldron for the duration of the Games, the virtual Fan Flame will burn brighter with every message of support that goes out to the athletes. To show support, all fans have to do is use the hashtag #KoiKasarNahi on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and post their inspirational and supportive messages to the athletes. Each post will appear on the digital fan flame and will be sent to our athletes.

  • Sony Pictures promotes CWG 2018 via ‘Rang De Tiranga’ campaign

    With just a little over a month to go for the Commonwealth Games 2018, Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) has launched a promotional campaign titled ‘Rang De Tiranga’. The games will be shown live on SPSN from April 4, 2018.

     

    The campaign revolves around one of Indian cricket’s biggest fan – Sudhir Kumar Chaudhary. He is shown as the face of SPSN’s rallying cry ‘Rang De Tiranga’ that asks fans to show their support for the tricolour and the Indian athletes.   • NBA to now be broadcast in Hindi

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) and the NBA announced that beginning the 2017-18 NBA season, NBA games will be broadcast with Hindi commentary every weekend on Sony Ten 3 and Sony Ten 3 HD, a package of close to 100 NBA games including the regular season and playoffs. The games will continue to be simulcast with English commentary on Sony Six and Sony Six HD.

  • SPN unveils coverage plans of FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 India

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has announced its programming initiative for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017. The sports network is set to telecast the 22-day tournament in three language feeds  English, Hindi and Bengali.

     

    SPN will also air a studio show called Football Extraaa with host Seema Jaswal and several international and India former and current playing stars.

  • LOC and Sony Pictures Networks launch the official song for FIFA U-17 World Cup

     

     

    With exactly a month to go for the tournament, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) formally launched Kar Ke Dikhla De Goal, the official song of the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.

     

    Written by lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Pritam, the song features a host of well-known music artists that include Sunidhi Chauhan, Neeti Mohan, Babul Supriyo, Shaan, Papon, Mika along with a rap performance by actor Abhishek Bachchan. The composition showcases the vibrancy and uniqueness of India while resonating with a global audience simultaneously. The music video for the song celebrates diversity, showcases how the nation is waiting in anticipation for FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017, and features stars like Bhaichung Bhutia, Ngangom Bala Devi, Shaan, Papon and even Sachin Tendulkar amongst others. The music video of the song will be broadcasted on SPN’s on-air and digital platforms across genres.

  • Sony Pictures rebrands sports bouquet with Sachin Tendulkar as brand ambassador

    In a country where cricket rules more than any other sport, Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) announced Sachin Tendulkar as its Ambassador for Sports, as it grouped its sports brands together under the business vertical – Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN).

     

    With the addition of two new HD channels, SONY TEN 2 HD and SONY TEN 3 HD, the network now has 11 channels in its fold.

     

    Interestingly, the contract for the tournament that got the the broadcast network into the big league in sports a decade back is now up for renewal.

    The concept behind the ‘Better Save Your Seat Man’ campaign is to highlight how cricket is relished and played in West Indies.

This series is the commencement of premier cricketing action in the second half of the year.   • Wah, wah! NBA Games ab Hindi mein

    Beginning with the 2017 NBA Conference Finals, viewers will be able to watch NBA games with Hindi in-game commentary on Ten 1, part of the sports cluster of Sony Pictures Networks India. The games will be simulcast in English on Sony Six and Sony Six HD.

     

    “Together with our longstanding partner Sony Six, we are excited to offer Hindi commentary in the upcoming NBA Conference Finals and NBA Finals,” said NBA India’s Managing Director Yannick Colaco. “We are committed to bring more localised offerings to our fans in India, and the inclusion of in-game Hindi commentary allows us to further engage with our Hindi-speaking supporters as we enter into the final stretch of the NBA season.”

  • Sony Pictures acquires onair and digital broadcast rights of Super Fight League

    India’s first mixed martial arts promotion, the Super Fight League –which is promoted by British business magnate and sports enthusiast Bill Dosanjh and British professional boxing sensation and two-time world champion Amir Khan announced Sony Pictures Network India (SPN) as the official broadcast partner for the first ever MMA league to be hosted in India January 20 to February 25, 2017.

     

    The franchisee based league that will feature eight teams, being organised in association with the All India Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA). SPN also has the broadcast rights for the league across Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Maldives.

  • SPN acquires broadcast & digital rights for Bangladesh Premier League 2016

     

     

    Sony Pictures Networks (SPN) announces the acquisition of the broadcast and digital rights of the fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League 2016. The tournament which is said to be the biggest cricket extravaganza in Bangladesh, commenced on November 4 and will be telecast on Sony Six and Sony SIix HD as well as streamed live on SonyLIV app and website. The on-air broadcastrights include the telecast of 43 live matches of the tournament in the Indian sub-continent. Along with streaming, SonyLIV will also be providing fans with a lot of exclusive Video-On-Demand (VOD) content like highlights, best sixes, best catches, fielding and more.

  • Sony Pictures Networks realigns key portfolios

    Sony Pictures Networks (SPN) has announced a re-alignment of key management portfolios. In the re-aligned organizational structure SPN’s International business gets consolidated within the network’s sales and syndication business, and also its sports business gets more closely aligned to the distribution business.

     

    Consequently, Rohit Gupta’s role gets expanded to President, Network Sales & International Business, Sony Pictures Networks while Neeraj Arora, Business Head for SPN’s International business will now report to Rohit Gupta. Other elevations include, Rajesh Kaul whose role has been expanded to President, Distribution and Sports, Sony Pictures Networks and Prasana Krishnan, Business Head for SPN Sports business will now report into Rajesh Kaul.

     

    NP Singh, CEO, Sony Pictures Networks commented: “This realignment is configured to further our global business ambitions. It allows us to maximize complimentary synergies existing within the network and augment SPN’s consideration as a partner-of-choice by brands and businesses, alike.”
