    Sony Sports Network has acquired the media rights to live broadcast the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2024, set to take place in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, People’s Republic of China, from September 8 to 17, 2024.

  • Sony to air French Open in 4 languages

    Sony Sports Network (SSN) is going multi-lingual in the live airing of the French Open (aka Roland-Garros) which started yesreday. This is the first year that SSN will be showing the Grand Slam event and the broadcaster is going all out with the live coverage of the event in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

  • SPN bags India-Denmark Davis Cup rights

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive media rights to broadcast Davis Cup tie between India and Denmark. As part of the deal signed with the All India Tennis Association, SPN will broadcast the tournament on Sony TEN 2 channels across India and the subcontinent, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka as well as live-stream the tournament on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

     

    The Davis Cup matches are scheduled to start from Friday, March 4, with a 15-minute opening ceremony, followed by the final day of the Indian Leg on Saturday, March 5.

  • SPN bags exclusive rights to broadcast Asian Games

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive media rights for 2022 Asian Games. This association will give SPN exclusive rights to broadcast the 19th edition of the Asian Games on its sports channels across India and the subcontinent including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Afghanistan, Bhutan and Maldives and will also be available on their premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

  • SPN acquires rights for Legends League Cricket

    Legends League Cricket (LLC) has announced its partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) to live telecast all the matches of the league to be played in January 2022, on Sony Ten 1 and Sony Ten 3 channels as well as livestream the matches in India on SPN’s premium OTT platform, SonyLIV.

As a host Oman has presented itself a very promising destination for cricket after successfully hosting the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup matches recently.

     

  • Sony Pictures acquires rights for Lanka league

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has returned as a broadcast partner for the second edition of Lanka Premier League (LPL). The network has signed an agreement with the official franchise and broadcast holder of LPL – the IPG Group. The agreement between Sony Pictures Networks India and the IPG Group includes the television and digital transmission of the LPL, which is set to be played between December 5, 2021 to December 23, 2021.

  • Sony enters 2-yr deal with Bundesliga

    Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, has agreed to a two-year deal with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) for exclusive media rights to broadcast the Bundesliga in India and the Indian Subcontinent. The agreement includes India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Pakistan.

  • Sony Sport to be official broadcaster Abu Dhabi T10

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has returned as the official broadcast partner for the second edition of Abu Dhabi T10. The tournament is slated to take place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium from January 28 to February 6, 2021.

     

    All 29 Abu Dhabi T10 matches will be telecast live on Sony Six in English and 27 matches on Sony Ten 3 in Hindi and will be livestreamed on its on-demand OTT platform SonyLIV which will allow viewers to watch the tournament on their mobile phones, bumping potential viewership numbers for the event.

     

    This year’s Abu Dhabi T10 will feature eight teams: Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers, Delhi Bulls, Northern Warriors, Deccan Gladiators, Qalandars, Team Abu Dhabi and Pune Devils that will face each other in 29 action-packed matches across 10 days.

     

    In addition to its massive subscriber base, Sony Pictures Networks India brings broadcast expertise and strong credentials to its part of the deal. The network is the premier destination for cricket in India, with rights to four international cricket boards – England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, Sri Lanka Cricket and Cricket Ireland. The broadcaster is also the official broadcaster of the ongoing India tour of Australia and the Big Bash League.

  • Sony Pictures acquires rights for Lanka Premier League 2020

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive pay television and IPTV broadcast rights for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan & Maldives and non-exclusive FTA rights for the same countries excluding Sri Lanka. The tournament will take place from November 26 to December 16. 2020.

  • Sony Pictures wins global rights to Sri Lanka Cricket

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the exclusive global media rights for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), with the exception of terrestrial, digital and radio rights for the territory of Sri Lanka which has been retained by SLC, for a period of three years starting July 1, 2020.

     

    The agreement provides SPN exclusive TV and digital rights to air all 92 days of LIVE cricket comprising 10 Test Matches, 24 ODIs and 18 T20Is sanctioned by the ICC and conducted by SLC between the senior men’s national cricket team of Sri Lanka and visiting ICC member national cricket teams along with access to Sri Lanka Cricket’s archival content. The deal also include rights to broadcast India touring Sri Lanka to play 6 T20Is and 3 ODIs with one of the series scheduled for July 2021 that will feature 3 T20Is while the date for the other series is yet to be announced.

  • Sony Sports brings 3 UFC LIVE events to India

    Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) is set to return to broadcasting live UFC events this weekend with UFC 249. The event will take place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Florida and will be aired live in the Indian subcontinent on May 10, 2020 on Sony Ten 2 and Sony Ten 3 channels from 7.30 am IST. This will be followed by two more UFC LIVE events, UFC Fight Night: Smith vs Teixeira on May 14, 2020 and UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Harris on May 17, 2020.
