  • ITV Network appoints R K Arora as Group CFO

    R K Arora has joined iTV Network as Group CFO. He has previously held various senior executive positions with various media houses like ZMCL, News Nation, India News, News 24 and India TV. He has also worked with the ITV Network in the past.

     

    Arora is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has fair experience in Finance, Distribution, overall operations and formulating strategies for the organization. He will report to the network’s board.  Said Arora: “It is a nice moment to come back to iTV network. With so much change and disruption unfolding in the news industry, this is an opportune time to work with increased focus on growth and innovation.”

     

    Speaking on Arora’s new role with iTV Network, Kartikeya Sharma, Founder, iTV Network, added: “We believe that the market is evolving rapidly, throwing up unique opportunities.   • Former Zee Media CEO R K Arora launches Hindi news channel JK 24X7 News

    Former Zee Media CEO and Executive Director RK Arora has jointly launched a new national Hindi news channel – JK 24X7 News – under the banner of JK Media Network with Subash Chowdhary and Tapinder Kumar alias Bhanu. The network also runs a channel in regional space ‘Gulistan News’ which caters to viewers of Jammu & Kashmir and.

     

    Inspired with the thought, ‘Aao Badlen Hum’, spurring change and emboldening the voice of the changing India, is the brand positioning for JK 24X7 News. To achieve this, JK 24X7 News has a mix of programmes that will help it make a positive impact in the lives of its viewers, notes a communiqué.

     

    The network has plans for expansion of their bouquet of channels in different genres in near future.

     

    A Chartered Accountant by profession, Arora has over 25 years of experience. Prior to Zee Media, he has worked with News Nation, India News, News 24 and India TV.

     

  • Zee News goes FTA

    Zee News is going free to air with effect from today (June 8).

    Former iTV Network Group CEO R K Arora has joined the News Nation network as Chief Executive Officer. Credited with building and consolidating many news broadcast brands, Meanwhile, it is rumoured that some more senior iTV group executives may also join Mr Arora at News Nation. It may be recalled that many top IBN business executives had joined NewsX in the recent past at senior positions.

     

    In his new role, Mr Arora will spearhead overall responsibility of strategic and operational management of the News Nation Network and will oversee the group’s portfolio of assets spanning news broadcasting.

     

    Mr Arora has an experience of 24 years and brings with him industry expertise and as Group CEO of the iTV Network which he joined in 2012, he managed the group’s six news channels -NewsX, India News and four regional news channels in the Hindi heartland and was instrumental. in the company’s transformation and its unprecedented growth within a short span of 2 years. Prior to ITV, he was CEO with BAG Network (News 24, E24 and Darshan 24). He was also associated with India TV since its inception.

    ITV Network has announced the appointment of Sanjay Dua as the Chief Executive Officer NewsX and Chief Revenue Officer ITV Network. Sanjay, an industry veteran with exhaustive market experience, brings with him formidable credentials and a wealth of knowledge. He will report to R K Arora – Group CEO, ITV Network

     

    In his new role, Sanjay’s responsibilities will include providing strategic direction, creating new opportunities in the market, paving the roadmap for the overall businesses of NewsX, while also being responsible for Revenue Management and pursuing innovative revenue models for ITV Network as part of the Network’s growth strategy.

  • Gautam Bhanot joins NewsX as National Revenue Head

    ITV Network has roped in GautamBhanot as National Revenue Head for NewsX. Gautam will be responsible for the overall sales and revenue generation of the channel. He will focus on growing the top line for the company, while also creating new revenue streams and opportunities, and in turn significantly contributing to the overall growth of the ITV Network.

     

    Gautam is a seasoned media professional with more than 16 years of experience across leading media companies in revenue maximization, inventory management and market development. He comes with a proven track record of leading his team in achieving sales targets consistently. He joins NewsX from Network18 after a fruitful innings of 9 years, his last position being National Sales Head for CNN-IBN. Prior to this, he was Vice President – Sales, heading revenue generation for CNN-IBN, CNBC-TV18 and CNBC-AWAAZ, for the North region. Gautam’s has had successful stints at The Times of India & Economic Times and the TejBandhu Group.

    R K Arora has been elevated to Group CEO, ITV Network where he will continue to lead and drive the organization and take it to the next level.  In this role, he will assume overall responsibility of strategic and operational management of the ITV Network and will oversee the group’s diverse portfolio of assets spanning news broadcasting.

     

    A chartered accountant by profession, Mr Arora joined the ITV Network in 2012 as CEO Broadcasting. Mr Arora has extensive experience spanning over 20 years in the field of distribution, finance and profitability of companies. Prior to ITV Network, he was the Chief Executive Officer with BAG Network (News 24, E24 and Darshan 24). He was also associated with Independent News Service Pvt. Ltd. (India TV) since its inception.

  • Vir Sanghvi stars in NewsX’s new line-up and channel packaging

    After having made a quantum leap after being acquired by Kartikeya Sharma’s iTV Network, NewsX has unveiled a new look. Youthful colors (blue and red) and new fonts adorn the channel as it gears up for the general elections.

     

    “The new look is in line with the channel’s profile, which caters to the young, affluent and urban viewers within the SEC AB category in the 25-44 age group,” notes a communiqué.

     

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sharma, Managing Director of the iTV Network, said: “Over the last few months, NewsX has become the home of breaking news, in-depth coverage, analysis and hardcore news reporting from the ground and this is a significant new phase to build our growth story.”
