  • Zenith honoured with Honor mandate

    Pardon the forced play on words in the headline but perhaps that was the only way to differentiate ourselves from the 20-other publications that you’ve read the same news.

     

    So here’s the juice: Zenith has won the media mandate of smartphone brand Honor. This includes the mainline media and digital duties of the brand. The business was won after a tightly contested multi-agency pitch.

     

    Speaking of the appointment, Winston Li, CMO, Honor India said: “It was a comprehensive pitch process and among other agencies, we were impressed with Zenith’s approach to drive business results. As a TechChic brand, we were looking for innovative ideas and fresh thinking that matches our style of working, brand and product proposition. We look forward to work with them.”

  • Jeep & Publicis Media partner for show on AXN, Max…

    Jeep India and Publicis Media have announced the launch of a television show Jeep Bollywood Trails, which will be aired on AXN, Max HD and will stream on Sony Liv starting January 25.

    Jeep Bollywood Trails is a travelogue, redefining India through Bollywood lens covering popular locations and landscapes. The show features prominent Bollywood directors who narrate their stories through these locations & elaborate on what makes these spots iconic. The show is powered up by Publicis Media’s Content Practice which executed the project end-to-end.

  • Publicis Commerce forays into India; appoints key leadership

    Publicis Commerce has announced its expansion into India and the appointment of two new leaders in the market. Kartik G Iyer joins as Publicis Commerce Lead and Krishna Mothey joins him as Head Of Media for the Practice.

     

    In addition to India, both Iyer and Mothey will also oversee the Commerce capability within Publicis Media’s Global Distributed Delivery (GDD) offering – a centre of expertise based out of India that delivers robust capability to clients around the globe.

  • Publicis Media appoints Anil Pandit as Programmatic Head

    Publicis Media India appointed Anil Pandit as Head of its Programmatic Practice.

    Pandit is tasked with accelerating the growth of Publicis Media’s programmatic capability across the agencies. He will oversee the central programmatic team – providing agency teams access to expert data, technology capabilities and solutions – that will deliver superior client value through greater effectiveness and media efficiency. He will also work with the global team to bring in the full Precision capabilities to India.

  • Publicis Media hires Sunish Jose from Accenture as Global Distributed Delivery Lead

    Publicis Media India announced a senior-level appointment for overseeing its Global Distributed Delivery set-up – a centre of expertise catering to international markets on a full spectrum of digital, data and tech services. It houses over 300 specialists across Mumbai and Gurgaon and supports a host of Publicis operations across US, Europe and Asia and their multinational clients on Search, Programmatic, Data engineering, Data sciences, Ecommerce, Consulting and Development.

     

    Jose comes with about 18 years of experience and is a Six Sigma Black belt professional with extensive experience in managing Digital Operations business across Programmatic Solutions, Search, Social, Display & Mobile, Analytics and Business Process Management. Some of the global clients he has had experience on include P&G, Sprint, Reckitt Benckiser, Nestle, Kraft, PepsiCo, Verizon, Toyota, Honda. With a proficiency in managing Service Delivery, defining SLA’s, contracts, His last role was with Accenture UK & Ireland where he was based in Dublin and managed key businesses for Accenture EMEA, as the EMEA delivery leader with a 500+ member team based across Dublin, Lisbon and Krakow.

  • Publicis Media aligns Convonix & Resultrix under Performics. Tanmay Mohanty to take on additional role

    Publicis Media India today announced the alignment of Convonix and Resultrix under the Performics brand. This, notes a communique, firmly establishes Performics as the largest performance marketing offering in the country by far and is in line with Publicis Media’s market-leading presence and ambitions in the areas of digital marketing, data, tech and analytics.

     

    Pallav Jain and Sarfaraz Khimani will serve as Co-CEOs of Performics India and will report into the Publicis Media India CEO Anupriya Acharya.

    Meanwhile, Publicis Media has also announced a new Head of Global Partnerships role for India. Tanmay Mohanty will take over this new role in addition to his current role of Zenith India Group CEO. In this role, Mohanty will bring in a “more strategic and holistic approach to global partnerships in India and ensure greater Groupe and client connectivity with partners such as Google, Facebook, Adobe and Microsoft amongst others”.

  • Ashish Bhasin elected President of AAAI

    Ashish Bhasin, Chairman and CEO South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network Media India Pvt Ltd has been elected as the President of Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) for the year 2018-2019 at its Annual General Body Meeting held yesterday.

     

    Anupriya Acharya, CEO, Publicis Media India, was elected Vice-President of the Association.

     

    Other members of the Executive Committee are CVL Srinivas, Group M; Kalyan Sarkar, Standard Publicity Pvt Ltd; Kunal Lalani, Crayons Advertising Ltd; Pranav Premnarayen, Prem Associates Advertising & Marketing. Immediate Past President, Nakul Chopra will be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI Executive Committee.

  • Publicis Media acquires Ecosys OOH

    Publicis Media has announced its acquisition of digital Out-of-Home agency Ecosys OOH. Notes a communique: “the agency comes power-packed with robust data and analytics capabilities and is the only agency in the country to provide measurable ROI in the out of home and ambient media space”. We haven’t verified this claim.

     

    The deal will enable Publicis Media take a significant into the OOH segment that is expected to grow steadily as per various adspend forecasts. OOH is expected to grow from INR 37.1 billion  in 2018 to INR 42.5 billion in 2021. The out of home business is likely to see exponential growth given the impetus on infrastructure projects, smart cities and growth in tier 3 & 4 cities in India

    Starcom has appointed Rathi Gangappa as Chief Executive Officer in India. Gangappa comes with over 20 years experience in media and brand communications. She was until recently COO at MediaCom, where she was in charge of day-to-day operations and managing key client relationships across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Her past stints also include Vodafone, Onmobile Global Ltd, Maxus and Lowe Lintas.

  • Starcom bids adieu to Mallikarjun Das

    Starcom CEO Mallikarjun Das (Malli) has decided to move on from the organisation.  Malli, as he is known in the fraternity, joined Starcom India as CEO in 2011.   Said Malli:“Working at Starcom over the last seven years has been a peak experience – it has left an indelible impression on me and shaped me as a professional and individual. Wisdom of hindsight is a dangerous thing, but I count myself lucky to have had large, complex business challenges come my way in this stint. I have had the full support of my team, Anupriya and my previous bosses in facing up to these challenges. Our results speak for themselves – Starcom India has grown four times the last four years; our India operations ended 2017 as Starcom’s Global Office of the year. I wish everyone at Starcom and Publicis Media all the best for the future.”
