  • IAA India presents Olive Crown awards

    Minister Piyush Goyal was Chief Guest along with Yes Bank CEO and MD Rana Kapoor and actor John Abraham who were Guests of Honour at the fifth annual Olive Crown Awards hosted by the India Chapter of International Advertising Association on Friday, March 27 in Mumbai.

     

    While the ‘Green Crusader of the Year Award’ went to activist Sumaira Abdulali of the Awaaz Foundation, the Piramal Foundation and Apar Ltd were awarded the ‘Corporate Social Crusader of the Year’ awards. The Young Green Art Director of the Year award was bagged by Aditi Chaddha for Lipton Green Tea. The agencies which bagged awards for prizewinning work were: RK Swamy BBDO, Stark Commumications Pvt Ltd, Trivandrum, MediaCom, Rawshark Films, GAME (Greening Advertising Media Entertainment), Ogilvy, Grey and Visual Communications.

     

    The event also saw IAA and Yes Foundation sign a partnership agreement where both parties commit to jointly harness the power of media for social change.

     

     

  • Stage set for Olive Crown Awards in Mumbai on March 27

    The fifth edition of the Olive Crown Awards from the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) will be hosted at the Palladium Hotel Mumbai on 27th March at 7pm.

     

    Shri Piyush Goyal Minister of State (IC) Coal, Power, New and Renewable Energy will be the Chief Guest while actor John Abraham, and Shri Rana Kapoor, MD, YES Bank Ltd. will be the Guests of Honor. Srinivasan Swamy, President – IAA said that this award had grown from strength to strength over the years. He reiterated that this was one of IAA’s ways of supporting good causes like the environment.

    Neeraj Roy, Chairman Olive Crown awards committee said that along with the guests of honor, leaders of industry will present the Olive Crown awards. There will be also entertainment segments by well-known artistes. He added that the Olive Crown Green Crusader award would be presented to a personality who was distinguished in the field of environment and the Olive Crown Corporate Social Crusader Award would be presented to a corporate which has excelled in Corporate Social Responsibility.

     

  • Entry deadline for Olive Crown Awards extended to Feb 15th

    The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) has announced deadline extension of the Olive Crown Awards that salute excellence in communicating sustainability.

     

    Neeraj Roy, Chairman, Olive Crown Awards Committee said, “The response to the Call for Entries has been good but many agencies have requested an extension of the deadline, and so we have extended the last date to receive entries to February 15th 2015.”

    IAA President Srinivasan Swamy said, “The Olive Crown awards are our contribution to Planet Earth. They are run as a cause and we do not charge any entry fee. The awards ceremony is also an exclusive “invite-only” show. Last year Sri Amitabh Bachchan was the Chief Guest and Smt Maneka Gandhi received the Green Crusader Award. Further, Hindustan Unilever and Mathrubhumi Group of Newspapers shared the Corporate Social Crusader Award and McCann World Group bagged the Agency of the year award.”

     

  • IAA calls for entries to Olive Crown Awards

    The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) has issued a call for creative entries for the fourth edition of the IAA Olive Crown Awards. The Olive Crown Awards which are India’s first and only awards for creative excellence in communicating sustainability have been growing in size and stature over the years. The entry form can be downloaded from iaaindiachapter.org. The last date for entries is January 31, 2014.

     

    Last year, the awards were endorsed by the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) and went on to become the first ever pan-Asian event of its kind. AFAA will continue to endorse it this year. Said Srinivasan K Swamy, Chairman, R K SWAMY BBDO and President, India Chapter and VP-Development Asia Pacific, IAA: “These awards have acquired the hue of a ‘cause’ and this is one of the reasons for their universal acceptance.” Ramesh Narayan, Founder Canco Advertising and M G Parameswaran, Executive Director and CEO Draft FCB Ulka, are Co-Chairmen of the IAA Olive Crown Awards.  Mr Parameswaran said, “We cannot put a price on our commitment to Brand Earth and that is why there is no entry fee for this one-of-a-kind award. The quality of entries was very high last year and we are expecting an even better standard this time”.

     

    The awards will be presented in Mumbai in March 2014.  For the third time in succession, leading music channel 9XM will be presenting sponsor of these awards. Hungama and the Patrika Group are the Green partners.

     

  • Olive Crown awards call for entries from across Asia

    In its third year, the Olive Crown Awards from the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) is on its way to becoming a global award for creative excellence in communicating sustainability. The added feature this year is that the Olive Crown will invite entries from across Asia.

     

    The Olive Crown Awards were launched by IAA at the Goafest 2011 two years ago. It blossomed into a large well-attended stand-alone event in Mumbai last year. With the entries expected to be received from many countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia etc in Asia this time, winning an Olive Crown is likely to be even more prestigious.

     

    Srinivasan Swamy, Chairman, R K Swamy BBDO and President IAA, stated, “These awards which salute creativity in green advertising really serve to bring sustainability to the top of the strategic agenda. Marketers have been realizing that sustainability is a key differentiator these days and this has helped make these awards popular.”

     

    MG Parameswaran, Executive Director DraftFCB Ulka and Chairman Olive Crown Awards Committee, added, “The Olive Crowns have found universal acceptance amongst the creative community and this year too, we would be having a jury consisting of some of the finest and most respected names in the creative fraternity. Keeping in mind that these awards are treated almost as a cause, we do not charge any fee for the entries. We are glad we have a mature sponsor in the form of 9X Media.”

     

    The Call for Entries form can be downloaded from http://www.iaaindiachapter.org and the last date for entries is 31-1-2013. The presentation ceremony will be in the first half of March in Mumbai.

     

  • 9XM to sponsor 3rd Olive Crown Awards

    The third Olive Crown Awards would be presented in March 2013 in Mumbai with 9X Media as principal sponsor. Announcing this, recently elected President of the India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Srinivasan Swamy said that the Awards, which were launched at the Goa Fest in 2011, had been scaled up and held in Mumbai in March 2012. “There has been widespread acceptance for these awards,” he said adding “corporates see the green message as a key differentiator in a competitive environment”.

     

    Mr Swamy further added, “I am pleased to confirm that 9X Media would be our principal sponsor once again. This is a measure of the success of this award and the commitment of the sponsor”.

     

    Mr Pradeep Guha, CEO, 9X Media said “the Olive Crown awards are not just a salute to creativity in the green space, they are a measure of the advertising industry’s seriousness to get the green message on top of the strategic agenda. We are happy with the way the awards were conducted last year, and our association with Olive Crown mirrors our own commitment to the social space.”

     

    The Olive Crown Awards are for creative excellence in communicating sustainability – communication that projected advertisers’ activities in any area that saved energy, contributed to a cleaner environment or positioned them as custodians of Brand Earth. Advertising appearing in the calendar year 2012 would be eligible to enter. The Call for Entries would go out on the January 1, 2013. There would be no entry fee.

    The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) presented the Olive Crown awards for excellence in Green advertising on March 3 at a glittering function held at the Taj Lands End in Mumbai.

     

    The Olive Crown Awards are the first and only awards in the country that celebrate excellence in communicating sustainability.

     

    The event, witnessed a heady mix of creativity, entertainment, a touch of seriousness, a dash of Bollywood and some of the biggest names in the advertising, marketing and media industry walking the “green carpet”.

     

    Singer Sona Mahapatra entertained guests with BollyJazz – Bollywood songs presented with a touch of Jazz. Funny man Vikram Sathye with his rib-tickling performance ensured that the guest had a great time The Guests of Honour at the function were Ms Nita Ambani, Chairperson Reliance Foundation and Member of ParliamentMs Priya Dutt.

     

    A special Green Crusader was presented to Dr. Rajendra Pachauri who won the Nobel Prize as Chairman IPCC.

     

    Olive Crowns were presented to winners in 14 categories and were judged by a panel of judges that included some of the most respected creative names in the business. Music Channel 9XM was the title partner for the event.

    The India Chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) will present the Olive Crown awards for excellence in Green advertising on March 3 at a glittering function to be held at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

    The Guests of Honor at the function will be Kajol and Nita Ambani, chairperson Reliance Foundation.

    A special Green Crusader award will be presented to Dr. Rajendra Pachauri who won the Nobel Prize as Chairman IPCC.

     

    “The response from the industry has really warmed my heart” said Kaushik Roy, President IAA. “Everyone seems to have adopted these awards as their own cause and have been spontaneous in consenting to be with us at the function. In just its second year, the Olive Crowns will be the most happening and meaningful event in our industry.”
