MullenLowe Lintas Group has elevated Naveen Gaur to Group COO – Growth and Innovation. This is wef September 1.

The mandate will be to strengthen the areas of marketing services that agencies within the group offer – such as PR, digital, content creation and production, experiential, design, analytics and martech. In addition to this, he will also lead the marketing, reputation and the strategic growth initiatives for the group. He was until recently Deputy CEO of Lowe Lintas.

    Amer Jaleel

Said Amer Jaleel – Group CCO and Chairman, MullenLowe Lintas Group: “I’ve worked with Naveen as a partner for over 10 eventful years. He stands firmly proud of owning the intersection on brand and business. And would be fearless in pointing out the lack of either in a piece of work he would be judging. And that shows his innate understanding of both. Naveen remains oddly unserious despite having seen through hundreds of crises. He switches seamlessly and this quality is what Lintas wants to capitalise on to ride into its most transformative phase ever. Naveen will help broaden the scope of what it means to be a brand in the new age.”

  • Mullen Lintas and Indian Newspaper Society create campaign ‘Rupaiyyah Hai Pahiya’ to jumpstart economic activity

    By A Correspondent

Given the ongoing downturn in the economy, Mullen Lintas has launched a campaign with the Indian Newspaper Society (INS), to “encourage consumers to start spending and to create liquidity in the market, and help boost the country’s economy”. The message will be amplified via INS-affiliated newspapers.

Commenting on the initiative, Amer Jaleel, Group CCO & Chairman, MullenLowe Lintas Group said: “There’s a training inside Lintas to think scale and to think mass. We involve ourselves with brands yes, with marketing yes, but beyond that our embrace is towards our culture and our economy. Lintas cannot ignore what’s happening to demand and to consumerism as a fallout of the Covid Lockdown. Too much of our work depends on consumer sentiment and to reigniting consumer sentiment becomes not just necessary to our work and survival but it’s a calling, it’s a duty. Very early we recognised that this turn of the cycle will not revive on its own and the wheel of the country’s economy will need everyone to push. Spending with confidence is probably the only people-linked initiative that can bring about this momentum, and so we stuck our shoulder to the task and hope that the country gives it a heave too.”

IPG Mediabrands forged this collaboration with Indian Newspaper Society to provide the necessary reach. Added Shashi Sinha, CEO, IPG Mediabrands: “This pandemic has proved that if we can survive together, we can revive together. It is this collective that can help in crafting the ‘India Revival’ story. The series of unlockdowns announced by the government via print media is playing its part to spread the word. Consumers are closely linked to print media and the campaign message amplification is best suited for a message such as this. The campaign by Mullen Lintas, with a massive reach supported by INS, is a call to spend in order to save.”

Said Shailesh Gupta, President, Indian Newspaper Society: “Newspapers are the lifeline of the people and have been responsible to bring about national upheavals. Even though a lot of people migrated to online versions, the readership remained like a rock. It plays a strong connection with the people joining them with the mainstream and bringing them upto speed. A reach such as this can be harnessed for a national initiative like Rupaiyyah Hai Pahiya and help to turn the wheels of the economy. INS proudly supports this campaign.”

Speaking about the idea for the campaign, Azazul Haque and Garima Khandelwal, Chief Creative Officers, Mullen Lintas added: “We’re happy and proud to have been able to do this campaign for the Nation. Since consumer confidence and discretionary spending is down, our attempt has been to humbly nudge the consumer to not hold back and that Every Rupee Spent is a Rupee Earned for the Nation. That’s how the idea “Rupaiah Hai Pahiya’ was born to encourage consumers to keep the wheels of the economy turning.”

  • #LetsGetIndiaTicking – says Titan to bolster consumer sentiment

    By A Correspondent

Titan Company Limited has launched an industry collective titled #LetsGetIndiaTicking to kickstart the wheels of the economy.

Commenting on the campaign, Suparna Mitra, Chief Executive Officer, Watches and Wearables Division, at Titan Company Limited said: “Many economists have spoken of the need to revive the demand side of the economy. This is where we felt our vast repertoire of experience in brand communications can serve a larger purpose. The thought that struck us was – can we do something to encourage each and every individual to do their bit to get the economy out of its slumber. #LetsGetIndiaTicking is the germination of that seed of an idea, which we hope transpires into a movement and a clarion call to revive livelihoods and the economy.”

Lowe Lintas Bangalore has orchestrated the film. Commenting on the campaign, Virat Tandon, Group CEO, MullenLowe Lintas Group, said: “The intricate connections between moving parts make for an extremely evocative symbolism between the country’s top watch brand and the economy. Our Bangalore team was quick to both discover this link and weave it delightfully in with Titan’s iconic signature music, to create what can only be described as a symphony of idea and inspiration. As the nationwide #Unlockdown initiated by the government rekindles economic activity, the campaign comes as a beacon of hope and positivity for all.”

  • Lowe Lintas launches Kaam Wapasi

    By A Correspondent

Lowe Lintas has announced the launch of Kaam Wapasi, a tech platform built to help migrant workers get back to work and at the same time assist employers with access to a pool of readily available workers. Companies like Zee Network, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, Radiocity and Razorpod have put their weight behind the initiative, that complements the government’s initiative to fuel the Indian economy.

    Prateek Bhardwaj

Commenting on the idea, Prateek Bhardwaj, CCO at Lowe Lintas, said: “After all that they’ve been through, migrant workers aren’t ready to return to cities without a sense of clarity and control. They need active projects to return to. Unfinished projects, on the other hand, need workers to restart. Kaam Wapasi is a creative tech intervention to help resolve this stalemate. By connecting migrant blue-collar workers with projects in various cities, we hope to accelerate the unlocking of the Indian economy”.

    Virat Tandon

Talking about bringing the idea to life, Virat Tandon, Group CEO at MullenLowe Lintas Group, added: “Creating the technology is just one part of the puzzle for us. We also intend to activate it at scale, and it’s heartening to see so many big brands collaborating with us to deliver that scale. Kaam Wapasi will be accessible to workers across the spectrum and as it grows, we hope that more companies join us in this endeavour”.

  • Mullen Lintas unveils hyper-local campaign for Tata Tea Premium

    By A Correspondent

Tata Tea Premium has recently launched region-specific ads created by Mullen Lintas.

Puneet Das, Vice President Marketing, India, Tata Global Beverages talking about the campaign said, “Tata Tea Premium has broken new ground where thoughts, new propositions are concerned. The strategy on Tata Tea Premium is to go hyperlocal and shift the needle from not just celebrating ‘India Pride’ but to also evoking regional pride. While most national brands only talk about ‘connecting at a local level’, we have taken a truly hyperlocal approach across all our marketing mix elements – whether it’s packaging, communication or the choice of communication medium. To complement the regional taste expertise, which has been the DNA of the brand, Tata Tea Premium has launched a new & distinct packaging for key regions (like UP and Delhi) which captures the elements of pride for each region. We have developed a State wise communication based on local/regional-level insight; and used hyper local media choices to effectively target the region.”

Commenting on the latest campaign, Amer Jaleel, Group CCO and Chairman, MullenLowe Lintas Group added: “To pay tribute to the widespread love for Premium, Tata Tea took a slightly different route than what most big brands would have chosen. Instead of doing a one-size-fits-all brand campaign, Premium is going local, identifying the local insights of its markets and paying rich compliments to the character and personality of the locals. This work also cleverly uses the existing strength of Premium, which is understanding regional consumer preferences and curating blends to cater to those preferences. The creative is nuanced to deliver how the people of the region are stereotyped and then gently pries away the layer of that lens and sees the people for who they are. After all a brand that’s loved by people should know them deeply, right? Know both their idiosyncrasies and their most lovable traits. I think while attempting this we have also ended up with one of the most unique hyper-local campaign this country has ever seen, and it’s still early days!”
