  • MEC India appoints Mukti Kumaran as West Head

    MEC India has announced the appointment of Mukti Kumaran as West Head. Prior to joining MEC, she was heading the Mumbai branch at IPG Mediabrands firm BPN. Based out of Mumbai, Mukti will report to T Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India.

     

    Speaking on the appointment, T Gangadhar, said, “We are delighted to have Mukti on board our leadership team. She is a progressive communications professional and brings with her a wealth of experience. I have no doubt she will be a real asset to MEC”.

     

    On her appointment, Ms Kumaran said, “My focus will be to ensure that we are pushing our understanding of consumers and evolving smarter and newer ways to engage our brands with them.”

     

  • Premnath Unnikrishnan appointed South Head – Digital at MEC

    MEC India has announced the appointment of Premnath Unnikrishnan as South Head – Digital. Prior to joining MEC, he was with Interactive Avenues, a leading full-service digital marketing company. Based out of Bangalore, Premnath will report to Vishal Chinchankar, Digital Leader – India.

     

    Vishal Chinchankar added, “It is great to have Prem a part of the MEC’ Digital team. He is a seasoned professional and come with a plethora of skills and expertise. He has a proven ability to create strategic simplicity, drive innovation, ensure systematic execution, and deliver results. We wish him the very best in his new role”.

     

    Premnath, a thorough digital professional with over 10 years of experience, comes with in-depth knowledge of performance based campaigns. At Interactive Avenues, Premnath has managed prestigious accounts like Wipro, TTK, ING Vysya Bank, World Vision amongst others.

  • Dish TV opts for MEC India as its media partner

    Dish TV has announced a new partner for its media duties – MEC India.  The relationship will be managed by the agency’s Gurgaon office.

     

    With digitalization phase 3 & 4 on the anvil, the brand is planning for significant growth acquisition volumes as well as, retention initiatives. The brand portfolio is now armored with multiple products and offerings especially, for technology savvy users (like) recorders in SD/ HD, a strong HD content basket, dish-online for streaming on mobile devices and so on. The coming months will witness action and challenges both in terms of festivals and events and sporting actions.

     

    Dish TV has decided to consolidate its ATL and digital business for a more uniform and seamless experience for its consumers, across media. Owing to MEC India’s vast experience in the domain, both the ATL and Digital business have been handed over to them.

  • MEC India wins at 2013 Effective Mobile Marketing Awards

    MEC India has bagged an award for the ‘Most Effective Location-based Service/Campaign’ at the recently concluded 2013 Effective Mobile Marketing Awards ceremony held in London. MEC India received the award for one of its campaign designed for Colgate at Kumbh Mela. The firm has now become the only Indian agency to win this prestigious award.

     

    Centered around the Maha Kumbh Mela held in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, the campaign was aimed at connecting with audiences at thef estival, that is one of the world’s largest religious gatheringswitnessing over 80 million people in attendance this year. MEC India partnered Red Fuse Communications, WPP’s full-service integrated global agency working on Colgate-Palmolive brands globally.

    Speaking on the occasion, Shubha George, CEO, Red Fuse Communications said, “We feel honoured to be recognised on a renowned global platform like the 2013 Effective Mobile Marketing Awards.     The mobile phone was selected as the medium to connect with the large audiences at the Maha Kumbh Mela. “This was the very first time in India that a brand had used location-based voice communication to convey the desired message and generate direct response from the audience,” said Ms George.

     

  • MEC appoints Tanushree Radhakrishnan as Digital Head – North

    MEC has announced the appointment of Tanushree Radhakrishnan as Digital Head -North India. She will report to Vishal Chinchankar – Digital Leader at MEC. Prior to MEC, Ms Radhakrishnan has worked agencies like Webchutney and Zed Digital/Performics (Publicis Groupe).

     

    Speaking about the appointment, Roopam Garg, All India Head-New Business Development and General Manager, MEC North said: “I welcome Tanushree into the MEC family. Her expertise in the digital space will certainly give us an edge in building our organic and inorganic business.”

  • Mindshare’s Ajit Gurnani to head west @ MEC India

    MEC India has announced the appointment of Ajit Gurnani as Head of MEC West. He was earlier with MindShare as Principal Partner – Client Leadership on the Aditya Birla Group AOR. Mr Gurnani will report to T Gangadhar, Managing   Director, MEC India.

     

    Speaking about the appointment, Mr Gangadhar, said, “Mumbai is our biggest office by far and I am    pleased that we have found a quality leader like Ajit to head our operations here. Given his rich vein of experience, I have no doubt that Ajit will make valuable contributions – to clients and staff alike”.

     

    A postgraduate from the Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, Mr Gurnani has over 16 years of experience in the field of media and marketing. He was part of the Internet task force at HTA and was involved with the exciting early years of the Internet in India. His Internet experience continued with stints at www.jagran.com and Starcom Digital where he was an Internet business solution specialist. His brand management and marketing exposure has been with Marico as Brand Manager and as Head – Marketing with IFFCO, the UAE-based food giant.

  • MEC appoints Roopam Garg to head biz dev and north

    Leading media agency MEC India announced the appointment of Roopam Garg as All India Head-New Business Development and General Manager, MEC North. In this newly created management position, Mr Garg will report to T Gangadhar, Managing Director, MEC India. Prior to this, he was Chief Operating Officer, at Zenithoptimedia India and head of Performics (ZO’s digital arm).

  • MEC India wins Dixcy Scott media duties

    MEC India has been awarded the media duties for innerwear brand Dixcy Scott. The company markets premium innerwear under the brand names Dixcy and Dixcy Scott. Bollywood A-lister Salman Khan endorses Dixcy Scott.

     

    MEC won the account after a closely contested multi-agency pitch. The agency’s Bengaluru office will handle the account.

     

    Speaking on the development, Raghul Sikka, Director of Dixcy said, “We have very aggressive plans for the coming year and we wanted a like-minded partner on board. It was a tough fight between equally competent agencies. We believe we have found that partner in MEC. We look forward to working with MEC.”

    MEC India has been awarded the media duties for BlueStone.com, the online store for fine jewellery and accessories. The relationship begins with immediate effect.

     

    Founded by Gaurav Singh Kushwaha, BlueStone.com is funded by blue-chip investors, Accel Partners.

     

    Speaking on the development, Mr Kushwaha said, “We are excited about taking BlueStone across a much wider canvas and are delighted to partner with MEC in this regard.   • MEC India appoints Ritesh Singh as head of Digital

    MEC India, a leading media agency, has announced the appointment of Ritesh Singh as their new digital leader. Prior to this, Mr Singh was with Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) as the Business Head - India, SMG Digital.

     

    Mr Singh joins as National Director, MEC Interaction and will report to T Gangadhar, Managing Director India and Tushar Vyas, Managing Partner, GroupM Interactions -South Asia.
