    ABP Studios shines at Marathi film awards

    The ABP Studios co-produced Marathi film, Karkhanisanchi Waari (Ashes on a Road Trip), has won the Marathi Filmfare Award for Best Picture. Mangesh Joshi received the Best Director Award, and Geetanjali Kulkarni received the Best Supporting Actor Female Award for the film.

     

    Commenting on the film’s success, Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP Network, said: “This is no doubt a huge accomplishment, but I also believe this is just the beginning for our ABP Studios’ team.     ABP Network conducted a two-day event titled Ideas of India last weekend (March 25 and 26), which saw discussions on wide-ranging ideas over 25 sessions and 20-plus hours.

     

    The speakers at the event included Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari (who came in after the swearing in ceremony in Uttar Pradesh), Maharashtra Minister Aditya Thackeray (who was as always very candid), Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar in discussion (Dhankhar in Mamata B, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Aditya Birla Education Trust Founder & Chairperson Neerja Birla, Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy, upGrad co-founder Phalgun Kompalli, innovator Sonam Wangchuk, actors Aamir Khan, Vidya Balan and Taapsee Pannu, singer Usha Uthup, film directors Ramesh Sippy, Karan Johar and Kabir Khan, lawyers Indira Jaising and Harish Salve, motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das, renowned journalist Fareed Zakaria, and Super 30 founder Anand Kumar.

    ABP goes the golf route. First Hindi & regional network to patronise elite sport

    ABP Network has entered a first of its kind partnership with Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) to be the digital media partner for its various golf tournaments to be held in 2021. It has become the first Hindi news network to cover a golf tour in the country and broadcast it live on its digital platform – ABP Live, and its associated social media platforms.

    At the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA) Board Meeting held on Monday, Rajat Sharma has been elected as its President. The Board also elected Avinash Pandey, Chief Executive Officer – ABP Network Pvt. Ltd., Vice President and MK Anand, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer – Times Network – Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, Honorary Treasurer of the NBDA for the year 2021-2022.

The NBDA Board and BARC have had several rounds of discussions to ensure that reliable credible, tamper free data is made available to the news broadcasters. NBDA has stated that the corrupt, compromised, irrationally fluctuating data will not be acceptable as the false narrative puts pressure to take editorial calls that run counter to the principles and ethics of journalism. NBDA believes in editorial standards of ensuring objectivity, neutrality, fairness and accuracy in reporting.”

    As the Pro Kabaddi League is all set to make its return (and the UP elections draw closer), ABP News has signed a deal to become the principal sponsor of the UP Yoddha team for the 2021-22 season. As a part of this deal, the ABP News’ logo will feature prominently on the UP Yoddha players’ jerseys, allowing the news channel to build brand recognition amongst younger audiences and sports aficionados across the country.

The Bengaluru office of 82.5 will be managing the business.

    ABP Network has announced multiple promotions within its sales team.  Amitosh Pal has been elevated to National Sales Head – ABP Ananda. Alongside driving sales for the Bengali channel, he will continue to assume the role of Regional Director, East Zone. Parul Kamra has been elevated to National Sales Head – ABP Ganga. From here onwards, she will continue to assume the role of Regional Director, North Zone, whilst driving sales for ABP Ganga. Rakesh Kumar has been elevated to National Sales Head – Government. In his new role, he will be responsible for all government-related business across Broadcast and Digital. Amit Kumar Singh, who currently handles Digital Sales – Government will directly report to him.

    All three members within the sales leadership team will continue to report to Munish Atrey, who will further report to Mona Jain, Chief Revenue Officer, ABP Network.
