Republic of India, is a country in South

India, officially the Republic of India, is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area; the most populous country since 2023; and, since its independence in 1947, the world’s most populous democracy.

    Foreign relations of India

India, officially the Republic of India, maintains full diplomatic relations with 201 countries, including Palestine, the Holy See, and Niue. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) manages India’s foreign relations. With the world’s third-largest military expenditure, the second-largest armed forces, the fourth-largest economy by nominal GDP, and the third-largest economy by purchasing power parity, India is a significant regional power and a potential superpower. According to the MEA, Indian diplomacy focuses on protecting national interests, establishing friendly relations with other states, and providing consular services. In recent years, India has adopted a comprehensive foreign policy, including a neighborhood-first policy through SAARC and a Look East policy to build strong economic and strategic ties with East and Southeast Asian countries. It has also pursued strategic ambiguity, including a “no-first use” nuclear policy and a neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war.

Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 11 am on July 23 after major ruckus ensued in the Parliament over the Bihar voter list revision issue. Opposition MPs raised slogans against the Centre, and demanded a discussion regarding the issue.

The opposition RJD in Bihar on Tuesday claimed that the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was a conspiracy hatched by the BJP, aimed at “shunting” Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ahead of the assembly polls.

However, the claim was summarily dismissed by state minister Shravan Kumar, a close aide of the state’s longest-serving CM who has been declared as the “face of the NDA” for the upcoming elections.

“For long, the BJP has been wanting to get rid of Nitish Kumar and have its own chief minister. They have grown desperate ahead of the assembly polls, in which the NDA’s loss is certain,” claimed RJD’s chief whip in the assembly, Akhtarul Islam Shahin.

Talking to PTI video, he claimed, “For long, senior BJP leaders have been speaking in favour of shunting Nitish Kumar. Former Union minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey once went to the extent of advocating that Nitish Kumar be made the deputy prime minister. So, it would not be wrong to conclude that Dhankhar’s resignation is a conspiracy by the BJP, aimed at shunting Nitish Kumar by giving him a politically insignificant post like that of the vice president.” (PTI)Both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm amid continued uproar by Opposition parties.

This comes after Rajya Sabha informed about Home Ministry’s notification (dated Jul 22) regarding resignation of VP Jagdeep Dhankhar with immediate effect. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha resumed proceedings at 12 pm amid ruckus. Opposition MPs raised slogans in both houses as Question Hour and Zero Hour started, respectively.A meeting was held on Tuesday morning of INDIA bloc floor leaders, where it was decided that the Opposition will press for President Murmu”>Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “presence in the House to answer questions on pressing issues”. The meeting, held in Parliament complex, was attended by Leaders of Opposition in both Houses – Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi – Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav, Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Sanjay Raut, and other Opposition leaders.

Congress general secretary in charge (organization) KC Venugopal informed that the opposition has decided to press for the PM’s presence in the House to answer questions on pressing issues.

The issues included the Pahalgam terrorist attacks, Operation Sindoor and US President Donald Trump’s statement on the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the Bihar SIR exercise, delimitation, atrocities against Dalits, Adivasis, Backward classes and women.

The other issues included the Ahmedabad Air India plane crash and volatile situation in Manipur.Opposition MPs protest outside the Parliament over Bihar voter list revisions.

Before adjournment, the Rajya Sabha chair announced, “The occurrence of vacancy in the office of Honourable Vice President is envisaged in the Constitution as and when communication in respect of further constitutional process is received, the same shall be shared.”
INDIA bloc MPs from both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha conducted a meeting ahead of the House proceedings. Both Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were seen attending the meeting. This meeting comes just a day after Jagdeep Dhankhar stepped down as the Vice President of India.
The government has been taking a multi-pronged approach to sustain economic growth amid global uncertainties, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said on Monday.

“The estimate of fiscal deficit for the year 2025-26, as presented in the Union Budget 2025-26, is at 4.4 per cent. There is no requirement felt for revision of fiscal deficit target at this stage, and neither is it considered appropriate,” he said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha. (PTI)The Ministry of Education is in the process of drafting a bill for establishing a higher education commission of India (HECI), proposed as a unified higher education regulatory body, the Lok Sabha was informed on Monday.

  • “Tribals Not Hindus”: Madhya Pradesh Congress Leader Triggers Controversy

How many Asia Cups has India won?1

India beat Pakistan by five wickets in a tense final to retain the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

It was the third meeting between the rivals at the tournament and success for India earned them a ninth title.

Both sides again refused to shake hands – as they had in the two earlier fractious encounters.

The India players did not reappear for the trophy presentation and Indian cricket board (BCCI) secretary Devajit Saikia later said the players refused to accept the winner’s trophy from Asian Cricket Council president Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav said: “It’s one thing that I have never seen in my career, that a champion team is denied its trophy.

“We took the call on the ground about not taking the trophy.”

In the absence of the trophy presentation, India’s players instead celebrated retaining their crown by mimicking holding a trophy.

“I think what has happened in this tournament is very disappointing,” Pakistan captain Salman Agha said.

“If they think they disrespected us by not shaking hands, then I say they disrespected cricket.

  • ‘I thought it was a heart attack’ – how collapse changed Kirby’s life1

Fran Kirby felt for a while that something wasn’t right – the fatigue, the nausea, the persistent brain fog. But it wasn’t until she collapsed in her hallway that the symptoms became impossible to ignore.

She regained consciousness thanks to a slap across the face and was told paramedics were on their way.

“I just got really, really extreme chest pain. Like something that I’ve never, ever experienced before,” Kirby told BBC Sport.

“I didn’t know what was going on. My head started to get really dizzy and I remember just saying that I’ve got to go and sit down.

“I got up, walked across the kitchen and then basically just completely collapsed in the hallway, like passed out completely.

“I thought I was having a heart attack.”

The next day she was diagnosed with pericarditis – an inflammation of the fluid-filled sac around the heart. The condition typically causes chest pain and fever.

Kirby’s collapse came in November 2019 and she was sidelined for 10 long months.

A full recovery and comeback followed, and the five years since her return have been fruitful for one of the most gifted players to represent the Lionesses in recent times.

She added eight trophies to her collection with Chelsea, lifted the Euros trophy with the Lionesses, and then signed for Brighton. Five months ago – shortly before England retained their European title in Switzerland – she retired from international football for good.

Having considered ending her career early because of her heart condition, the return to action has delivered more than she could have ever imagined.

“There’s been times where I feel I’m not going to do this any more,” Kirby said of her career.

“I’m not going to do this to my family any more, I’m not going to put them through it, I’m not going to put myself through it.

“That was tough. But now that I’ve gone through
