    Havas Media Group India has announced it is relaunching Havas Sports & Entertainment, the sports and sponsorship vertical of the agency. To begin with, Havas Sports & Entertainment India has facilitated a two-year deal between Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Swiggy Instamart, as the official on-ground partner for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 & 2023.

  • ABP Network to host first-ever summit

  • Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 to be held in metaverse

    Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2021 is all set to be held in the metaverse. This association has been conceptualised and crafted by Wavemaker India for Perfetti Van Melle India in partnership with Viacom18.

     

    The awards show will come to life in a screening at Decentraland, the place of the first ever Metaverse concert. The screening will allow users to create virtual avatars and experience the slime fountains, ride on the blimp and play fun games while being virtually immersed at the event (on March 27).

  • PVR & INOX announce merger

    The Board of Directors of PVR Limited (PVR) and the Board of Directors of Inox Leisure Limited ( have approved an all stock amalgamation of INOX with PVR. Upon obtaining all approvals, when the merger becomes effective, Inox will merge with PVR. Shareholders of INOX will receive shares of PVR in exchange of shares in Inox at the approved share exchange (“swap”) ratio.

     

    The combined entity will be named as PVR Inox Limited with branding of existing screens to continue as PVR and Inox respectively. New cinemas opened post the merger will be branded as PVR Inox.

     

    PVR’s Ajay Bijli would be appointed as the Managing Director and Sanjeev Kumar would be appointed as the Executive Director. Pavan Kumar Jain will be Non- Executive Chairman of the Board. Siddharth Jain would be appointed as Non-Executive Non-Independent Director in the combined entity.

     

    Commenting on the announcement, Ajay Bijli, Chairman and Managing Director of PVR said: “This is a momentous occasion that brings together two companies with significantly complementary strengths. The partnership of these two brands will put consumer at the centre of its vision and deliver an unparalleled movie going experience to them.     1. Fantastic! Right person for the job

    2. He’s had a glorious career thus far. Why is he inviting trouble!

    3. Mainu ki… how does it bother me!. It doesn’t make a difference who is Chairman of BARC

     

    A. When the question has built-in answer, it becomes an easy task: my answer is number 1 option. There is no doubt that the job demands a very high level of competence and expertise and Mr Sinha has plenty of them. He is definitely most suited for the assignment.

     

  • Shashi Sinha appointed as new BARC India Chairman

    Shashi Sinha, Chief Executive Officer at IPG Mediabrands India, has been unanimously elected as new Chairman of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC India) by the Board following its meeting held on March 25, 2022.

     

    Sinha, who also represents the Advertising Agencies Association of India as its Board member, has played a key role in the formation of BARC. He takes over from Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., who served as Chairman for the last three years.

     

    Sinha is also actively involved in various industry bodies such as the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI, Past Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), Past President of The Ad Club, Current Chairman of Media Research Users Council (MRUC) and till very recently, before becoming a Board member, was the first Chairman of the Technical Committee of BARC India. He is also a member of the Facebook India Client Council.

     

    Speaking on the appointment, Sinha said: “I am excited to be given this opportunity as the Chairman of BARC at a time when the industry is undergoing many changes and the measurement body continues to grow. Over the last decade, BARC has evolved to become a robust currency and developed into a strong base for decision making for all stakeholders. I look forward to continue working with the team at BARC and I am confident that together we will be able to add and bring in more value to the broadcast ecosystem.”
