  • Vinod Moorthy appointed Director of Rediffusion/Edelman

    Edelman India announced the appointment of Vinod Moorthy as Director of Rediffusion/Edelman, effective immediately. Moorthy takes over from Jimmy Mogal who moves into a senior advisory role at Edelman India. Based in Mumbai, Moorthy will take charge of the Tata business reporting to Rakesh Thukral, managing director of Edelman India.

     

    “With Vinod’s appointment, we are further strengthening our leadership team at Rediffusion/Edelman,” said Thukral. “Vinod brings years of knowledge and experience in driving corporate reputation campaigns for major companies which will further elevate our offerings. Jimmy has played a key role over the last year in spearheading the team and will continue to play a strategic role at Edelman India.”

     

    Diwan Arun Nanda, CMD of Rediffusion Y&R, said, “We welcome Vinod’s addition to the team handling our Tata mandate. I am confident that with his multifaceted experience he will add substantial value to our offering to the client.”

     

    Moorthy joins Rediffusion/Edelman from H+K Strategies where he was the North India SVP and APAC Corporate practice lead. Prior to this, he served at Ketchum Sampark, Good Relations India Limited (GRI) and a stint heading GCI, the PR Division of Grey Worldwide as its general manager.

     

    With over 20 years of communications experience, Moorthy has counseled clients across a broad spectrum of industries including financial services, aviation, telecom and technology, biotechnology and manufacturing. Some of his former clients include Tata SIA Airlines, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, The Blackstone Group, Citibank, Vodafone, Hindustan Unilever, Sony Entertainment Television, Hyundai, LG and Hyatt.

     

  • New leadership structure at Hill+Knowlton Strategies

    Hill+Knowlton Strategies announced a new leadership structure in India that eliminates regional divisions, and gives clients a high-powered ‘One India’ solution.

     

    Radhika Shapoorjee, President South Asia will now be supported by Deepa Jayaraman as Chief Operating Officer; Carolina Bajaj as Chief Strategy Officer; and Sunil Raman as Managing Director, Public Affairs. All of the above bring unique individual skills that add up to give clients strategic thinking and execution capabilities unmatched in the industry.

    Deepa Jayaraman has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. She will now be responsible for the day-to-day management of client business across all Hill+Knowlton offices in India. She will focus to drive best practices in client servicing, help teams innovate to provide value for clients and will strive to create an organization that’s constantly learning, with a culture of high performance, and a deep commitment to quality. Deepa will be based in Bengaluru.

     

    As Chief Strategy Officer, Carolina Bajaj will be primarily responsible for leading the strategic change in the firm’s approach towards client servicing initiatives and new services as well as integration with practices. Carolina will be based in Mumbai.

     

    Sunil Raman will lead public policy. He is a highly experienced political journalist who has worked with BBC World Service and The Economic Times, and closely tracked and interpreted Indian Politics for 24 years. Today, more than ever clients are seeking counsel on the changing legislative process and policy making which impact their organisations. Sunil will be based in Gurgaon.

  • IPAN H+K Strategies announces new leadership

    Hill+Knowlton Strategies has announced changes to the leadership in two of its offices in India, reflecting a period of sustained and robust growth across its largest operations. Vinod Moorthy, a member of the H+K Strategies team since 2007, has been appointed as Senior Vice President, North India and APAC regional Corporate Practice Leader. Vinod will be based in the H+K Strategies Gurgaon office and takes on this new role after a successful tenure as Senior Vice President, West. While Devasis Chattopadhay, who joined H+K Strategies in early 2013, has been promoted to VP, West India with responsibility for the Mumbai operations and the continued growth of the finance practice across India. He most recently served as Senior Client Services Director in Mumbai.

    Devasis brings nearly three decades of senior experience in the corporate and financial communications sector to H+K Strategies. His special expertise is in identifying and resolving the highest priority communication challenges of diversified corporate entities and organizations operating across sectors. Before joining H+K Strategies he held senior positions in companies in the finance and various industrial sectors.
