  • Akshay Kumar in new Dollar Bigboss TVC

    Dollar Bigboss, the men’s innerwear, has launched a new commercial to further boost the brand popularity. It features actor Akshay Kumar and has the tagline “Dollar Upar Gaya”. The film is set against the backdrop of a stock market.

     

    Said Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries Limited: “With our decade long association with Akshay Kumar, our brand has witnessed a 5x times growth. The concept of the commercial clearly speaks how Dollar has lived upto the expectations of its consumers and thus maintaining its position as one of the three major players in the hosiery industry with 15 % market share. Our new tagline ‘Dollar Upar Gaya’ explains the brand’s soaring market acceptability. We also wanted our long-time payoff to have a new meaning, a different take for the brand.”

     

    Speaking on the idea behind the campaigns, Sagar Kapoor, Chief Creative Officer, Lowe Lintas, said: “Fit hai Boss as a payoff has always worked wonders for Dollar Bigboss. This time we used the phrase to develop a witty plot which establishes the growing value of the brand. Akshay is a brilliant actor who pulls off the film with flying colours.”

  • Dollar launches new TVC campaigns for the festive season

    Dollar Industries has unveiled a new campaign to promote its existing range of Dollar Bigboss and Dollar Missy.

     

    Post a brand architecture exercise led by LinConsult, the strategic consulting division of Mullen Lowe Lintas Group, this campaign was developed by Lowe Lintas Kolkata.

     

    Said Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries Limited:  “We have expanded the Bigboss portfolio to include not just innerwear but also athleisure, gym wear and casuals for men. With our decade long association with Akshay Kumar, our brand has witnessed a 3x times growth. Coming to Dollar Missy, for women, armed with an enviable range of womenswear, we felt it was time for us to break old-standing beliefs as well. Our festive collection consists of 102 colors to choose from. The leggings cater to various occasions and are a perfect fit for the women across various leagues of life.”

     

    Speaking on the idea behind the two campaigns, Janmenjoy Mohanty, Regional Creative Officer, Lowe Lintas added: “Fit Hai Boss as a tagline has always worked wonders for Dollar Bigboss and this time around we have used the phrase to develop a plot which is futuristic but at the same time it delivers a key message – Bigboss can’t be cloned. This imagery goes hand-in-hand with the newly created Dollar brand identity which speaks of the modern times, the science and innovation involved. Akshay is a brilliant actor who pulls off the film with flying colours. With regards to Missy, the concept was derived from the product itself. These easy-to-slip-on legwear are meant for a wide variety of occasions and uses and lends itself perfectly to the idea that today’s multi-tasking woman is game for #SpeedDressing.”

     

    Both the commercials have been directed by adfilm-maker, Shiven Surendranath.

The ‘Knitted D’ symbolises our product line. The rebranding step has been taken to re-organize the brand architecture altogether making the brand visibility more precise and clearer.     Dollar Industries has launched its latest ad film titled ‘Dollar Yahan Hai’ with brand ambassador Akshay Kumar. The concept revolves around the actor’s influential style quotient.

That is why the new Dollar Bigboss TVC opens up with Akshay Kumar being scanned by the airport security officer to establish curiosity among the audience. The Brand targets the young consumers. Akshay has a stature and appeal that resonates well with the brand’s image and this therefore helps the audience connect and understand us better.”

     

     

  • Dollar Missy ropes in Chitrangada Singh as brand ambassador

    Dollar Industries, which has forayed into female wear such as leggings, capris and inner wears under the brand name Dollar Missy, signed model and Bollywood actor, Chitrangada Singh as their brand ambassador in this segment.

     

    Said Vinod Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Dollar Industries: “Dollar Missy, launched in the last quarter of 2014, is an evolving brand and we had been looking for a face which could carry the brand image in the right spirit. Having met the Bollywood diva, Chitrangada Singh, we knew she would be the best fit for the brand. She represents today’s elegant and vivacious woman who takes on the world, beaming with confidence. We have recently shot a new Ad campaign with her where she showcases our product style with loads of panache.”

     

    The new campaign was shot in Bangkok by Sachin Kotre for A La Carte Films with Mullen Lintas being the creative agency.
