  • Vedanta launches digital campaign for Covid heroes

    Vedanta Group has announced the launch of a digital campaign – ‘Bravehearts’ – to salute unsung heroes who went beyond their call of duty to help others during the second wave of the pandemic. Vedanta will release short videos as part of the campaign, showcasing real-life stories of such ‘Bravehearts’.

     

    Speaking about the campaign, Roma Balwani, Senior Director, Communications & Brand, Vedanta, said: “Bravehearts is our humble tribute to the unsung Covid heroes who stepped out of their comfort zones to make a difference to the society, thereby spreading a message of positivity and hope. The pandemic has seen the world get together to help out others and we feel their efforts need to be appreciated by one and all.”

     

  • First Partners bags comms mandate for Vedanta’s aluminium & power biz

    First Partners has announced that it has won the public relations mandate of Vedanta Limited’s aluminium and power business. The award of this mandate followed thorough evaluation rounds involving a multi-agency pitching process.

     

    Notes a communique: “The remit spans corporate communications and brand PR support for Vedanta’s aluminium and power business units spread across the states of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Punjab including the corporate office in the National Capital Region (NCR).”

     

     

  • Vedanta unveils new logo

    Vedanta, a global diversified natural resources group of companies, unveiled its new logo. The new logo will strategically position Vedanta’s consistent commitment towards the growth of its low cost operations, leverage technology to deliver innovation and superior value to its shareholders.

     

    The logo refresh comes after Sesa Sterlite Limited was renamed to Vedanta Limited, a significant milestone that promises a united and aligned identity and reflects Vedanta’s journey to strengthen the linkage between our global business, communities and stakeholders. The logo is an outcome of a co-creation exercise with internal stakeholders across geographies and group companies.

     

    “In continuation of having a unified brand proposition, this logo refresh symbolizes Vedanta’s un-waivered commitment towards creating greater value for our domestic and global stakeholders, as a diversified natural resources group of companies,” said Tom Albanese, CEO, Vedanta.

     

    The logo will be adapted by all the divisions/group companies along with their respective logos and this move will help align with the company’s goal of being a unifying brand across its Indian and global operations.

     

  • NDTV and Vedanta announce launch of ‘Our Girls Our Pride’

    NDTV and Vedanta have launch the ‘NDTV Vedanta Our Girls Our Pride’ national movement to create awareness about issues related to the girl child. The key issues that the campaign will focus on are Nutrition, Education, Health, Foeticide and Infanticide.

     

    Priyanka Chopra was named the brand ambassador for the campaign. To launch the initiative, Priyanka joined Dr Prannoy Roy, Co-chairperson, NDTV and Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta in New Delhi. Also present at the launch were Dr A L Sharada, Programme Director, Population First, Neelam Singh, NGO Vatsalya, UP, Deepak Kalra, Chairperson for Child Rights Protection Committee in Rajasthan amongst many others.

     

    Addressing the gathering via a live-link, Minister for Women and Child Development Krishna Tirath said, “We should respect women in our society because both men and women are equal partners to bring out our society forward. According to our Constitution, we have equal rights, so we enjoy equal rights as men and women.”

     

  • Cairn India invites creative, media, PR partners

    Cairn India, a part of Vedanta Group, which acquired 51-60 percent of its stake in 2010, has invited agencies to be their creative, media and PR partners. The pitch is based out of Delhi. No official confirmation could be attained at the time of filing this report but agency sources close to the development have confirmed the news to MxM India.

     

    There is no incumbent on the account.

    For the record, Cairn started its operations in 1979, when Sir Bill Gammell, the chairman, founded Cairn Energy. In 1988, the company was listed on the London Stock Exchange. Sir Bill Gammell became its first Chief Executive and has held this position for more than two decades. Cairn Energy PLC, a FTSE 100 company, was one of the first UK companies to invest in the Indian oil and gas sector.

     

    In 2010 Vedanta Resources Plc (VED.L) completed its long-delayed $8.7 billion purchase of a majority stake in Cairn Energy Plc’s (CNE.L)

     

    London-listed Vedanta now holds 58.5% of Cairn India (CAIL.NS), of which 20% is held through its Sesa Goa (SESA.NS) unit.
