  • PVR INOX promotes horror genre with campaign

    By Our Staff

PVR-Inox Ltd has rolled out a marketing campaign to promote the movies in the horror genre. The film has been produced by The Titus Upputuru Company, and we received the release published in one of our favourite fonts: Baskerville.

Speaking about the campaign, the director of the film, Titus Upputuru said: “It is one thing to watch a horror film on a small screen at home. It is quite another to watch it on a big screen, alone! It was great fun shooting the film. The task was not just to capture the protagonist’s feelings and emotions but to manifest what was going on in his mind. That was the big challenge. There were several elements that we used to create the atmosphere of fear. The colours, the mirrors, the lonely top shots, the red apparition, the creepy hands, the sounds, and the edit, all went into making the experience both real and surreal.”

Added Shony Panjikaran – General Manager & Head, Sony Pictures Releasing International, India: “We embarked on a thrilling journey with PVR INOX, creating a captivating tale to unveil the final chapter of Insidious. This horror-filled promotion explores the consequences when one dares to venture into the chilling world of fear, alone at a cinema. From an Instagram contest that sparked an overwhelming response, Vicky emerged as the brave victor who stepped into the darkness, only to have his senses tested to the limit. Insidious: The Red Door delivers an unforgettable cinematic experience which needs to be witnessed on the big screen, like the grandest screens at PVR INOX.

Greenlam Industries, laminate manufacturing company, has launched a brand new film on sustainability, The Gutli, (seed) to promote sustainability. The short film has been produced by The Titus Upputuru Company.

The new film “Gutli” (Seed) depicts a young girl named “Suguna” who is full of questions. After gaining knowledge that our planet is losing trees, she begins to worry about her father, who is a carpenter and relies on trees for a living. Suganaa then decides to plant trees to help not only her father but also the planet. At the end of the film, it showcases that, like the little girl, the company cares too, and hence “sources wood from sustainable forests.”

Commenting on the launch of the brand campaign, Parul Mittal, Director, Greenlam Industries, said: “At Greenlam, we are constantly improving our product portfolio to offer the best surfacing solutions while being committed to people and the planet. We monitor our resources in real-time, which has helped us substantially reduce our waste production. Through this brand film, we want to convey the message that Greenlam sources wood from sustainable forests, and till date, we have successfully been able to prevent the felling of a minimum of 8,000 trees through our paper waste recycling initiatives.”

Added Titus Upputuru, writer & director of brand film: “The film shows that we don’t need giant plans and purposes to help the environment today. Like the little girl, we just need a handful of faith and love. We can move the mountains and make this a happier, greener planet. It was a wonderful opportunity to write and direct ‘Gutli’ for Greenlam Industries.”

Said Titus Upputuru, Creative Head, Taproot Dentsu Gurgaon: “When you are creating work for the digital medium, you can do so much more than just a video. When we asked Varun to change his Instagram handle to Vroom Dhawan, he readily agreed. Oppo is a fun brand and we are happy to constantly do some whacked out stuff.”

  • Taproot Dentsu campaign for Oppo F-Series

    By Our Staff

Taproot Dentsu, in association with Oppo, has launched a new campaign to commemorate the brand’s latest success in the F-series family. Smartphone brand Oppo F-series has hit the 10-million-user mark in a matter of five years since launch in 2016.

Titled #10millionstories, the new campaign celebrates the milestone by featuring real stories of F-series users who showcase how they use their phones in their everyday lives.

Said Titus Upputuru, Creative Head, Taproot Dentsu: “We all have that one member in the family who is so good at photography that she or he ends up being chased by everyone for a good photo. My niece happens to be one of them! Much to her dismay, everyone goes about chasing her for a great photo. But the thing is, she also loves taking photographs. We believe youngsters will empathise with Maria’s predicament who depends on her Oppo phone for great photos. The second story is the story of a ‘Bhullakad’. Because of their hectic lifestyles and hunger to pack in so much into their days, youngsters tend to be forgetful. That’s when Oppo’s fast charge comes in handy. We had fun shooting the campaigns. Who said testimonials have to be boring; because cameras can speak!”

  • Taproot Dentsu creates film for #MeToo anniv

    By A Correspondent

To commemorate the anniversary of the #MeToo movement, Taproot Dentsu has partnered with lifestyle portal iDiva. The digital film is titled ‘Nip in the Bud’.

Speaking on the film, Titus Upputuru, Creative Head, Taproot Dentsu said: “It wasn’t an easy subject. One had to keep in mind the sensitivities involved. What happens between a man and a woman within the confines of a professional environment is between them. There are no witnesses. There are no cameras. Nip in the bud is a tribute to every single woman who had the courage to speak about what happened in a moment where there was no one to corroborate the story. Unfortunately, many women took years to report and this allowed the men concerned to continue with the predatory behaviour. Hope this digital film inspires women across the world to nip it in the bud.” For the record, Titus is the writer and director of this intriguing film.

  • Dentsu One creates campaign for new Honda City

    By A Correspondent

Dentsu One has created for Honda Cars India (HCIL) a 360-degree marketing campaign, ‘Rush of Supremacy’, for the new 5th Generation Honda City.

Speaking on the campaign, Rajesh Goel, Sr VP and Director – Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India said: “The mission was to deliver supremacy from the word go, and so began our journey of creating a car with a strong and robust road presence, delivering excitement and security with an intelligent package that offers superior value to its ambitious customers. The goal of the campaign was to bring all these pillars alive in a tone and manner that is true to the original sedan – the Honda City. The campaign resonates aptly with the City buyer who commands absolute supremacy and is assertive about the intelligent choices he makes.”

Added Titus Upputuru, National Creative Director, Dentsu One: “It’s one thing to pack in a punch when a product is launched; it’s quite another to do it year after year, decade after decade. When we were briefed on this iconic car’s new offering, we were absolutely excited. In the past, we had created campaigns like ‘Worlds Ahead’ and ‘Forget The Toys’ for Honda City but seeing what the 5th Generation model has to offer, we thought it’s time to introduce some excitement into the DNA of the brand. Now for years, people have been saying that it gets lonely and boring at the top. We thought it is time to bust that myth. Because with supremacy, comes a great new feeling, a whole new rush. Despite the lockdown, God helped us execute every nut and bolt of this campaign with various assets, across different platforms. The Honda Connect campaign, featuring several videos around the Boss Dog, was great fun too.”

Said Abhinav Kaushik, Executive Vice President, Dentsu One: “The Honda City is a true legend that’s been able to resonate and stay relevant for over two decades. And this new generation of Honda City is no different. Keeping the client brief in mind, we have looked at the brand truth by asserting City’s unrivalled leadership position and amplifying the dynamism and excitement that the new generation Honda City offers to its owners. The campaign reflects these two facets of the brand and will sure fire the segment with much needed dynamism and excitement.”
