  • Times Now Summit to be held on Nov 10 & 11

    Times Network will host the second edition of Times Now Summit 2021 on November 10 & 11 in New Delhi. The theme of the summit is: Celebrating India@75. Shaping India@100.

    Times Network has appointed Nikunj Garg as Editor of Mirror Now. Garg will lead the editorial mandate for Mirror Now and closely work with the channel’s business and leadership teams to drive the channel’s growth agenda. In his new role, he will report to MK Anand, MD & CEO, Times Network.

  • Times Network launches ET Now Swadesh

    Strengthening the Network’s footprint in the language space, Times Network is set to mark its debut in the Hindi Business News genre with the launch of ET Now Swadesh. It promises to be a catalyst of growth, energizing every discerning Indian to Rise with India. The channel will also unveil its brand manifesto that reflects its unique proposition in the Hindi Business News category. A special brand film capturing the brand genesis will be released on the Launch day across the Network channels and its social media platforms.

    At the News Broadcasters & Digital Association (NBDA) Board Meeting held on Monday, Rajat Sharma has been elected as its President. The Board also elected Avinash Pandey, Chief Executive Officer – ABP Network Pvt. Ltd., Vice President and MK Anand, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer – Times Network – Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, Honorary Treasurer of the NBDA for the year 2021-2022.

    In a message issued with a communique, Sharma has said: “Despite several months having passed, BARC ratings have not been restored as yet. The NBDA Board and BARC have had several rounds of discussions to ensure that reliable credible, tamper free data is made available to the news broadcasters. NBDA has stated that the corrupt, compromised, irrationally fluctuating data will not be acceptable as the false narrative puts pressure to take editorial calls that run counter to the principles and ethics of journalism. NBDA believes in editorial standards of ensuring objectivity, neutrality, fairness and accuracy in reporting.”

  • Post-BARC, it’s Linus and more for Sunil Lulla

    As CEO Sunil Lulla said his final goodbyes at the BARC India headquarters in Central Mumbai, he was all set to make a switch from an ‘Employee Life’ to a ‘Portfolio Career’.

     

    The entrepreneurial journey includes:

    • The Linus Adventures which will assist Promoters and CXOs scale their business and become leader brands.

    • Being co-founder of a UAE-based EdTech start-up focussed on India and the MENA region

    • An active angel investor in early-stage start-ups across multiple domains.

     

    In addition, he will continue his support to the Children’s Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA and hopes to learn a new way of running (known as Maximum Aerobic Function / Low Heart Rate whereby he can breathe smarter to successfully complete many a marathon and staying more refreshed).

     

    An MBA from SP Jain Institute, Lulla has spent long and successful years in advertising, broadcast and digital before he took charge at BARC in October 2019. He spent 11 years in JWT in India, China and Taiwan, three years at HMV (now Saregama), three years at MTV India which he turned around, a year at Diageo, two years at Indya.com, three years at Sony Entertainment and then eight years as CEO and MD of the Times Television Network. Later he spent nearly four years as CMD of Grey Group India before making the switch to Balaji where he was there for a year-and-a-half.

     

    It may be recalled that Lulla had announced his decision to move on from BARC last week. Fellow advertising agency captain Nakul Chopra took charge at the television audience measurement company today (August 25).

     

  • Times Now Navbharat HD will launch on Aug 1

    Times Network has announced its foray with its Hindi News Channel, Times Now Navbharat in HD on August 1, 2021.  As announced earlier,  Navika Kumar will be Editor-in-Chief and air seven primetime shows hosted by anchors including Sushant Sinha, Padmaja Joshi, Ankit Tyagi and Meenakshi Kandwal. These include Rashtravad at 5pm, Log Tantra at 6pm, Dhakad Exclusive at 7pm, Sawal Public Ka at 8pm, News Ki PaathShala at 9pm and Opinion India at 10 pm.

The network’s outdoor promotion spans over 400 sites across 19 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur, Dehradun, Indore, Punjab, Raipur and Varanasi. The network also plans to splash its print ads across leading Hindi and English dailies of the country.

     

    Meanwhile, the channel has announced the roping in of leading advertisers like Kent RO System, Century Ply, Radico Khaitan, Vedanta, Medibuddy, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Darwin Platform Group of Companies, Mylab Discovery Solutions, Meghdoot Herbal, Kirloskar Brothers amongst others.

It has also appointed Savvy Dilip as Executive Vice President and Head- Digital Growth. Savvy will lead product development, content-led audience growth, technology based digital consumer experiences, social media amplification and online marketing for all the digital platforms of the Network. Savvy Dilip, who had turned entrepreneur for a bit, is a seasoned broadcast professional having worked with Network 18 and iTV in the past. She will report to Srivastava.

     

    Other senior management promotions include Manish Wadkar, Senior Vice President & Head – Legal, Pranav Bakshi, Senior Vice President – Digital, Hina Jafri, Vice President & Head – Corporate Communications, Poonam Bavdanker, Vice President – Human Resources, Saurabh Bhowal, Vice President & Head – Content and Programming, Zoom & The Zoom Studios and Mihir Bhatt, Vice President & Executive Editor, Times Influence.

  • Navika Kumar named editor-in-chief of Times Now Navbharat

    Times Network anchor and editor Navika Kumar has been named Editor-in-Chief of its soon-to-be-launched Hindi news channel, Times Now Navbharat. In her new role, Kumar will lead the editorial mandate of the channel besides continuing in her role as Group Editor, Times Network and hosting ‘The Newshour’ @ 9 pm and the interview show ‘Frankly Speaking’ on Times Now.   • ET Now to warm up Canada

    It’s getting cold in Canada, but warming the winters there will be our own ET Now. Times Network has announced the launch of ET Now on Bell Fibe TV in Ontario and Québec through a distribution partnership with Ethnic Channels Group (ECG). Nextologies, a global leader in providing broadcast technology solutions, will transport the ET Now signal within Canada.
