Young creatives in India looking to break into the industry or find a new job can now get tickets for The One Club for Creativity’s global Portfolio Night 2024, hosted once again in person and virtually by BBDO India, DDB Mudra Group, and TBWA\India. This is close on the heels of Portfolio Evening hosted by Miami Ad School last week.
Established in 2003, Portfolio Night 2024 will be held virtually on October 10, followed by an in-person version in Mumbai on October 11.
Notes a commuPortfolio Night has also become a crucial tool for agencies in recruiting top young talent, providing a platform for recognition from local industry peers, and giving agencies a place on the global stage as the ad world tunes in to this one-of-a-kind event.
Three Omnicom agencies – BBDO India, DDB Mundra Group and TBWA\India – will be co-hosts for The One Club for Creativity’s global in-person Portfolio Night 2022 in Mumbai on June 2. In addition, the agencies will co-host an online Pan-India Portfolio Night on June 1 for those outside of Mumbai.
Established in 2003, Portfolio Night has long been recognised as the world’s largest advertising portfolio review programme. This fast-paced evening of advice, networking and recruitment takes place in cities around the world on the same date to help the next generation of creative talent entering the industry.
Said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club for Creativity: “Portfolio Night is a unique global event that serves as a high-visibility opportunity for agencies and creative directors to give back to the industry by guiding the earliest steps of future copywriters, art directors and technologists. We are very grateful to BBDO India, DDB Mundra Group and TBWA\India for working together to make this important global event possible in person in Mumbai and virtually for all of India.”
Given the uncertainty around the spread of COVID-19 in the United States, The One Club for Creativity announced all in-person Creative Week events will move online for 2020. The events were scheduled to take place in a number of New York venues from May 11-15.
The nonprofit organisation will replace the in-person One Show, ADC 99th Annual Awards and Young Ones Student Awards ceremonies with streaming events to announce Pencil and Cube winners to the global creative community. Online versions of awards ceremonies and other related content are being discussed, with details to follow in the coming weeks.
The changes to Creative Week will apply only to the 2020 edition, with all events and awards show ceremonies returning in 2021.
Kevin Swanepoel
Said Kevin Swanepoel, CEO, The One Club: “With so much uncertainty at the moment, the prudent step is for us to extend our stance of not putting people at risk. We switched from in-person to online judging last week, and this change with Creative Week is driven by the same abundance of caution for the well-being of the creative community,” adding: “The mission of The One Club is to support the global creative community. Investing in premium streaming content offers an exciting opportunity for us to reimagine what Creative Week can be, connect with the agency and brand worlds at large and celebrate the year’s best work on a global scale.”
“Award shows are an important gauge of industry trends and who is doing the best work,” Swanepoel said. “However, they should never be put before people’s health and safety.”
The One Club for Creativity and The 3% Movement, the advertising industry voice for gender equality and diversity overall, announced the 10 winners of their joint Next Creative Leaders global awards programme for 2018 at this year’s 3% Conference in Chicago.
