Co-founders Gautam Reghunath and PG Aditiya of the agency add to their leadership team Independent agency Talented has promoted Binaifer Dulani to the role of Founding Partner.

Said Reghunath ad Aditiya: “Binaifer’s promotion reflects what the founders note as her “remarkable drive to make everyone at Talented succeed”. “It really makes us happy when amazing things happen to amazing people. Binny is a champion creative but more importantly she’s a champion ally for everyone here, obsessed with bringing the best out of those around her. While we’ve always relied on her for counsel and advice as part of our leadership team, with this, she now becomes the third person and our first creative colleague to officially join Talented’s partner track. This is us merely providing her more of the stage she deserves to be able to continue having the incredible impact she’s already had on our company, colleagues and clients.”

  • Talented creates ad series for HomeLane

HomeLane, the interior solutions brand, has embarked on a creative journey with Talented to unveil a two-part ad series (together with UBIK Films and directed by Surjo Deb) that it hopes will “redefined traditional home decor advertising by taking a commonplace metaphor very literally”.

Said Aarushi Periwal, Creative and Founding Member at Talented: “The films are nothing but an unvarnished glimpse into a homeowner’s worst nightmare. They are completely familiar, and yet entirely foreign. They depict reality not as it is but as it appears in the minds of these homeowners. Hence, to make them feel painfully relatable, showing both the pretty and pretty ugly sides of home interiors became tantamount. The only guardrail was to make this campaign memorable. ‘Sar khana’ and ‘Topi Pehnana’ is the start of a creative device that we hope the brand can own,”

  • Talented Agency launches The New Thing

    By Our Staff

Gautam Reghunath & PG Aditiya’s indie agency, Talented, have launched of a new specialised social & culture marketing agency, ‘The New Thing’. Viren Noronha who previously led the social charter at Swiggy & Tinder joins as co-founder of the new entrepreneur-operated creative shop. Staffed entirely by creators, The New Thing’s primary focus for their brands will be to help them create cultural conversations and moments on social – something they believe very few brands are getting right. And true to their name, the agency does not want to shy away from keeping up with the ever changing landscape of the internet.

On the launch of the new venture, co-founder, Viren Noronha said: “Getting social right is hard. And, the way agencies and brands look at it needs a desperate refresh. My experience at Swiggy & Tinder showed me evidence of a crucial shift – it’s not about what your brand is saying, it’s about what people are saying about your brand. To keep yourself relevant you need to lean into those conversations. You need to contribute to internet culture with your content. And, you need creators who do that for themselves every day, as part of your team. Look at some of India’s most popular campaigns over the last few years – It’s not that people hate advertising, they just hate boring ads. Great advertising or social doesn’t force your audience to talk about you, it invites them to. And it certainly doesn’t need ‘30 posts a month’ to do that. The New Thing wants to help brands be in charge of those conversations, whether it’s ‘daily social’ or ‘spike campaigns’. We want to make brands work for the internet, not the other way around. I’m now excited to begin with colleagues and partners who, like me, believe that social done right is a growth function, not a cost centre.”

Talented’s founders, Gautam Reghunath & PG Aditiya added: “Viren has executed some of the most talked about social-first campaigns in India but we think he’s been masquerading as a brand-side marketer & an agency-side creative these last few years. Now in his avatar as a creative entrepreneur, we simply want to liberate him and his founding team and help them launch the social and culture agency of their dreams. There’s a clear reason why we’re launching this as a separate agency. Right from the kind of talent needed to workflow and processes, it’s become evidently clear that specialised social-first creative mandates for brands have to be run very differently from wider creative mandates. It’s equally exciting to see what an agency staffed & run entirely by creators looks like. It gives our clients a direct line to people who are shaping internet culture. All of this means we now believe we have a disruptive take on the business behind social-first creativity.”

  • Britannia launches campaign for new NutriChoice Herbs & Seeds Cookies

    By Our Staff

Britannia unveils a campaign to launch its new NutriChoice Herbs & Seeds Cookies. The brand film has been conceptualised by Talented, an independent creative agency, and produced by Lucifer Circus, a Mumbai-based production house.

Said Amit Doshi, Chief Marketing Officer at Britannia Industries Limited: “The NutriChoice portfolio has grown over the years by actively responding to changing consumer expectations around healthy snacking. The effort is to identify good-for-you ingredients through the convenience and taste of a cookie. It’s the reason we launched NutriChoice Diabetic Friendly Essentials Oats and Ragi cookies, and more recently cookies with 20% Protein. Our latest cookie launches are NutriChoice Seeds & NutriChoice Herbs – with the power of 5 Seeds & 5 Herbs. Playing up the ingredient story was essential – and I’m glad we found a truly entertaining way.”

Added PG Aditiya – Co Founder & CCO, Talented: “These seeds & herbs haven’t belonged together in a cookie – they’ve been in shampoos, cough drinks and sambar, all independently. It’s for the benefit of you, the consumer that they’ve come together – leaving the baggage of their ‘old jobs’. For your immunity. For your convenience. Shout out to our director – Shayak Roy – whose vision brought this film (and each of its ingredients) to life. I have never relied purely on a director’s instinct as much as I did for this launch.”

Shayak Roy, Director, Lucifer Circus said: “I love the way PG and the team at Talented drafted the script. Casting was key. Each element of the film from inside the biscuit, to each seed and herb was curated with a lot of effort put in by PG and I. We needed to make sure each cast member resonates the bizarre reality we were attempting. Grateful for the freedom team talented allowed me to execute this vision. Rarely does one come across films with so many layers; looking forward to collaborating with master craftsman, PG and the team at talented again.”

  • Swiggy unveils brand icon Gulab Jamun uncle in new campaign

    By Our Staff

Swiggy, the food delivery app, released a short video ad to celebrate its Gulab Jamun Uncle. This follows Swiggy’s recent campaign ‘Why Is This A Swiggy Ad?’ through OOH, front-page print ads across metros and on social media. Created by Talented advertising agency, WITASA is a User-generated content (UGC) marketing campaign.

The new 18-minute video announced winners to last week’s campaign. There are 10 winners in all who will take home Rs. 1 lakh Swiggy money. Who made the cut? Find out here:

Said Ashish Lingameni, Head – Brand, Product Marketing and Sustainability at Swiggy: “Among our many objectives with WITASA, the biggest was conversations, share of Voice and engagement. Which this campaign has fulfilled beyond expectations. There’s also science to this madness. Swiggy food delivery, Instamart and Genie are all top of mind through just one campaign and that’s what defines the success of this campaign.”

Added PG Aditiya, CCO and Co-founder, Talented: “No other brand could have done this campaign. It took a brand that had immense existing brand love, woven into our cities’ cultural fabric & with tons of personal memories for each user to qualify for something as absurd as this campaign. To us, WITASA is design-thinking & culture-marketing at its best. It also proved that Gen-Z has longer attention spans than we think. You, me, all of us – we all became Swiggy’s ad agency for a whole week. And while we’ve (kinda) answered the burning question… we won’t blame you for not being convinced. Maybe we’ll never know why it was a Swiggy ad. But as long as we keep thinking about it, we’re answering our own question.”

  • Tanishq celebrates leader in every mum

    By Our Staff

Tanishq, the jewellery retail brand, has launched its latest digital film ‘The Interview’ ahead of Mother’s Day. Conceptualised by Tanishq and Dentsu Webchutney, the two-minute slice of life film attempts to break stereotypes around maternity break and showcases an apt description of Life’s Boot Camp through the eyes of a new mother.

Speaking on the launch of the film, Ranjani Krishnaswamy, General Manager – Marketing, Tanishq, Titan Company Limited said: “The woman of today is seeking to express herself with honesty and authenticity to confidently celebrate her realities. She’s thriving in her vulnerability while rising in her power to change her world. The brand believes these powerful stories build positive momentum in cultivating a world of equality and adding to her self-growth. This film is an ode to women who challenge set narratives and inspire many others to follow the change”

Speaking on the film, Binaifer Dulani, Founding Member and Creative at Talented said: “Studies reveal that it will take at least 136 years to close the global gender pay gap, and one of the biggest factors for this is the lack of representation of women in senior leadership. We need more workplaces to see beyond the dominant culture and create equity for women so that they can make their comeback. There is no parallel to the thought differentiation and unique life experiences mothers bring to the table, yet they are constantly on the back foot when they want to make a comeback after a maternity break. Through this campaign, we want to inspire organisations to take affirmative action towards retaining and hiring mothers, and we want to inspire mothers to claim their maternity breaks as what it is – a boot camp in life and leadership”
