  • MTV India and T-Series sign deal for MTV Hustle

    MTV India and T-Series join forces for rap reality television show, MTV Hustle. This partnership will entail exclusive music rights for worldwide distribution, thereby serving the show’s vision of building industry-ready rap professionals and powering up their professional journeys at an extensive global scale.

     

    As a part of the 3-season deal, all original music created from Seasons 1, 2, and 3 will be distributed globally by T-Series, providing unprecedented reach to the diverse body of work by MTV Hustle. Championing desi hip-hop and rap culture, the country’s leading youth entertainment platform, MTV India created a music revolution which will be further catalyzed globally by the largest music label, T-Series through multi-platform distribution including its YouTube channel that ranks number one with over 238 million subscribers across continents, music channels, audio streaming platforms and many more.

     

    On partnering with T-Series, Anshul Ailawadi, Business Head – Youth, Music, and English Entertainment, said: “MTV Hustle 2.0 has pioneered India’s hip-hop revolution.   • T-Series & Red FM announce ‘The Care Concert’

    FM radio network 93.5 Red FM and T-Series have come together to bring a new digital initiative ‘The Care Concert’ on April 11, 2020, 6pm onwards. The concert would be streamed on YouTube and Facebook handles of both T-Series and the Red FM network. Viewers can log in, enjoy the performances with the line-up of 15 plus artists and contribute any amount they wish to the PM CARES Fund through a link provided for the donations.

    Speaking about the association, Bhushan Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, T-Series, said: “Amidst such unprecedented and uncertain times when the world is grappling to fight the Coronavirus pandemic, we wanted to spread some cheer and also help everyone to fight this unitedly. Moreover, we saw synergies with Red FM to entertain and engage the audience in a creative format. ‘The Care Concert’ is an initiative to unite all of us together and motivate everyone to stay at home. We hope to bring some positivity in the current scenario through music and also create an opportunity which allows us to do our bit for the society by donating to the PM Cares Fund.”

  • T-Series crosses 50mn subscriber mark on YouTube

    T-Series has crossed the 50 million subscriber base on its YouTube channel. This milestone was achieved soon after the 40mn base it achieved in March this year.

  • Hungama launches digital talent hunt MOBIsur

As wireless subscriptions continue to grow, billions of apps continue to be downloaded worldwide andIndiasaid to have the second largest mobile subscribers in the world.

     

    Taking into account the growing popularity of the digital medium, ITC’s Vivel FaceWash, along with Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and musician Shankar Mahadevan has launched ‘India’s first digital talent hunt’ – MOBisur.

     

    Mr Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. said: “The reach of Internet andMobiletechnology has grown tremendously in the past few years. The aim of MOBisur is to create a talent-scouting engine in spaces that haven’t been explored in the past, via an entry ticket that is their everyday communication device.”

     

    This unique mobile- and internet-based talent hunt promises to give every Indian an opportunity to prove their singing talent. The property was launched by Shankar Mahadevan, Nilanjan Mukherjee, Head of Marketing, Personal Care Products Business, ITC Ltd; Bhushan Kumar, MD, T-Series and Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO Hungama Digital Media Entertainment in Mumbai on July 13. T-Series is the official music partner for the property, which elevates the talent hunt to an even higher platform.

    The entries for the digital talent hunt, MOBIsur is said to continue for the next 45 days and the duration of the property will be for three months. The marketing budget is pegged at Rs3-4 crore.

    5,000 talented female participants selected from entries submitted on the Vivel Facebook page www.facebook.com/itcvivel will make it to the second round.

     

    The contestants who clear the first stage of the auditions will be given specific tasks by Shankar Mahadevan, who said: “When I conceptualised this property with Hungama, the thought was to give every Indian an opportunity to participate in a unique contest to try and reach the pinnacle of musical genius. Music is a powerful medium that can come from the most unexpected places.”

     

    Based on their performance in the tasks and the votes secured for each task, they will be chosen for the next round. There are three tasks in all and after clearing all three tasks the contestants make it to the final round, which is the On-Stage Performance. Ten finalists will be chosen to perform in front of Shankar Mahadevan and two other prominent personalities, where the final two winners will be announced.
