  • Swati Mohan moves out of media to pet care

    From Fox and Nat Geo to Netflix. Swati Mohan, who headed business at Star India and was until a few months back, Chief Marketing Officer at Neflix, has joined Heads Up For Tails (HUFT), a pet care company, as Chief Business Officer.

She is a seasoned professional with a two-decade-long track record as a proven leader and has driven profitable growth in large, multi-channel consumer businesses.   • NGC to air series on planet earth

    National Geographic is set to take viewers on a journey to witness life on planet earth through a new series titled One Strange Rock. Created by acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, the series promises to be a journey that explores the fragility and wonder of planet earth. Hosted by actor Will Smith, this global event series will premiere on National Geographic across the world on Monday, March 26, at 9pm.

     

    Commenting on the series, Swati Mohan, Business Head, National Geographic & Fox Networks Group India said:“One Strange Rock comes at a time when we need people to appreciate our planet, its wonders as well as its vulnerabilities. The idea is to evoke a sense of wonder about our planet that audiences would perhaps have never experienced with anything they have seen before.   • Goafest 2018 announces the National Geographic Green Award

    For the second year running, National Geographic has collaborated with Goafest as its Green Partner to help make the confluence of nation’s best creative minds conscious about their campaigns, actions and impact on the environment. For the festival’s 13th edition, the channel this year has introduced a new award – The National Geographic Green Award, which recognizes creative work and campaigns on planet conservation.

     

    In line with National Geographic’s commitment towards inspiring people to care about the planet, the award will honour communication campaigns that highlight the efforts to save, reduce or re-use energy, water, plastic, wildlife and the environment in general.

     

    Speaking on this new initiative, Swati Mohan, Business Head, Fox Networks Group India, said: “This is the second year of our partnership with Goafest and we are delighted to introduce The National Geographic Green Award. National Geographic has been educating and inspiring people to care for the planet since 1888 through impactful storytelling. The festival has provided us with a perfect platform to recognize the creative work of agencies who are working in the same direction. This is another step towards our endeavour to inspire people to protect our planet. We are looking forward to see country’s best creative minds, spreading this important message through their work.”

  • Fox Life outlines renewed India agenda with new branding, content

    Fox Life has launched an all-new look of the channel, supported by a refreshed brand proposition and content line-up. The brand’s new tag line of ‘Never stop’ is a way to remind viewers that there is always more to do, learn, experience and share.

     

    Celebrating this spirit, the channel launched ‘Masters of Taste with Gary Mehigan’ – a series that brings him to India to meet the top chefs in the country to get inspired by and learn from, and get an up-close look at some of their recipes, styles and techniques.

  • Fox Networks Group announces new leadership structure

    In its endeavour to further strengthen the network’s proposition in India, Fox Networks Group (FNG) announced a new leadership structure in the product team.

     

    This restructure is to help drive a unified vision and renewed focus of the FNG portfolio of channels in India. This new focus will be driven through three main pillars – The Channel and brand strategy, On Air communication and Original productions.

     

    The latest addition to this team is Aparna Deshmukh, who joins as Vice President, Content and Communications, and shall be responsible for Channel Strategy and Operations for all FNG brands in India. Sanjay Ramachandran, who joined in November last year from Turner APAC, will continue to serve as Head – Creative Services; broadcast design and On Air Communication for all channel brands.  Meanwhile, Shruti Takulia will continue in her role as Creative Director – Original Productions.

     

    Speaking on the new leadership structure Swati Mohan, Business Head, Fox Networks Group, India says, “I am delighted to have such a power-packed product leadership team in Aparna, Sanjay and Shruti. We have instituted this new structure to help drive disproportionate growth for FNG’s bouquet of global brands by keeping them locally relevant and fresh for the viewer and also making them a strategic choice for the advertiser.”

     

  • Swati Mohan takes over as Business Head for Fox International Channels India

    Fox International Channels India announced the appointment of Swati Mohan as the Business Head of the company. Swati has been elevated to the new responsibility from her previous role of Vice President – Content and Programming at FOX International Channels, India. In her new role, she will take over the India operations from Keertan Adyanthaya with effect from 30th March, 2015. She will be reporting into the Hong Kong Office and shall be heading the network portfolio of all existing FOX International Channels in India including its strong existing iconic brands like National Geographic Channel and FOX Life as well as the other network channel properties like Baby TV, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Adventure, Nat Geo Music and National Geographic Channel HD.

     

    Prior to this, since January 2012, Swati has been spearheading the programming and content portfolio for the bouquet of channels including National Geographic Channel and Fox Life. She has over 16 years of experience in the industry, with a wide spectrum of work across companies including Group M, O&M, FBC Media and Endemol previously.

     

    Commenting on the change, Keertan Adyanthaya, Managing Director, NGC Network India & Fox International Channels said, “Swati has been leading the content team at Fox for the past 3 years and has done a stellar job. When it was time to choose a new leader for our business, we didn’t have to look beyond Swati. She has a keen understanding of the content and having been a key part of the hard working & dedicated team here, she will lose no time in propelling our company to even greater heights.”

    Swati Mohan has been appointed as the new Vice President-Programming and Operations for FOX International Channels and NGC NetworkIndia. In her new role, Ms Mohan will be responsible for programming and operations for the bouquet of channels under the company inIndia, including National Geographic channel, FOX Traveller, Baby TV, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Adventure, Nat Geo Music and National Geographic Channel HD.

     

    Keertan Adyanthaya, Managing Director, FOX International Channels and National Geographic NetworkIndia, said: “Swati comes with a vibrant tapestry of experience in creating content for successful brands. I am confident that she will bring this experience to play in creating engaging and relevant shows for our suite of channels and strengthen them even further.”

     

    Ms Mohan said in a statement: “I am extremely thrilled to be associated with the Fox International bouquet of channels. National Geographic Channel and Fox Traveller are the gold standard in their respective genres and I will strive to create a great line up of international and locally produced content that will enhance the appeal of these channels inIndia”

     

    Ms Mohan comes on board with 12 years of experience in the industry. Beginning her career as a copywriter at Ogilvy and Mather, she went on to making content for television as an Executive Producer at FBC Media and Endemol. Her last five years at Group M across Mindshare and Maxus, had her successfully develop the space of brand building with the aid of specially created content for many advertisers across the country. In her last assignment, she was National Director – Entertainment, Sports and Partnerships at Maxus.
