  • Sun TV announces partnership with Amagi

    Sun TV Network is commencing its business association with Amagi Media Labs, the leaders in targeted TV advertising and cloud-based TV broadcast infrastructure.

     

    Amagi Media Labs is expanding its offerings by adding new HD channels of the Sun network to its bouquet of channels offering targeted advertising solutions; namely Sun TV HD, KTV HD, Sun Music HD, Gemini TV HD, Gemini Movies HD, Gemini Music HD, Udaya TV HD & Surya TV HD, to help advertisers reach out to the niche Southern India audience. Using Amagi’s technology, Sun TV network will monetise its HD feed by separating HD feed from SD feed for which Amagi will have exclusive rights to sell.

     

  • Surya Comedy set for take-off this week

    Sun TV Network has announced the intent to launch Surya Comedy channel which is billed as the first full-time Malayalam comedy channel to its bouquet of Malayalam channels namely Surya TV, Surya Movies, Surya Music and Kochu TV.

     

    According to Sun TV Network’s official spokesperson, “Humour is an inherent quality among the Kerala audiences and the market boasts of some of the best comic talent in the world of entertainment. The channel is ready to offer the Malayali audience variety of shows in various shades of humour.” Surya Comedy will offer content which will be focused on comedy 24 hours a day and is set to go on air from April 29, 2017.

     

  • SUN TV partners with HOOQ platform for delivery of movies

    Sun TV Network has partnered with HOOQ, a premium video-on-demand service in a multi-year deal.

     

    HOOQ has recently entered into the Indian market with over 30,000 hours of movies and TV series and will now carry Sun TV’s library that includes a mix of super hit films from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. The content catalogue includes titles 3, Jilla, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanaom, Neram, Kazhugoo (New), Sundara Pandlan, Mankatha and many more.

     

    S L Narayanan Group CFO commented on the occasion, “We are excited about the possibilities arising out of our association with HOOQ, a digital distribution platform of impeccable lineage. Sun TV holds a large library of blockbusters and timeless classics with enduring appeal.”

     

    “We are proud to partner with Sun TV Network. Their extensive library with titles from Tamil to Malayalam will help us ensure we have something for everyone in India” said Pete Bithos, Chief Executive Officer of HOOQ. “More importantly, we want our customers to continue to enjoy the largest and best catalogue of Hollywood and Indian content of any service available today” he added.

     

  • Yang Saints and Warriors to sing creative tunes for Red FM

    Yang Saints and Warriors will be henceforth handling the creative mandates for Red FM. The win comes after a multi agency pitch that Red FM had called for a couple of months back.

     

    Though no confirmation from Red FM could be obtained at the time of filing the report, sources close to the development have confirmed the news to MxMIndia.

     

    The agencies participating in the pitch include names like Lowe Lintas, DDB Mudra, Scarecrow Communications, Law &Kenneth and others.

     

    The incumbent agency on the account is Ogilvy & Mather, who have been handling their creative mandates for the past five years. Even the marketing spends could not be ascertained at the time of filing the report.

     

    Red FM is a property of Sun TV Network, India’s largest television network which has 20 TV channels, 45 FM radio stations, two daily newspapers and four magazines in several Indian languages.
