  • Songdew premiers as a 24-hour music channel

     

     

    Music network Songdew.com, which boasts of a roster of more than 25K artists and bands to promote their music both in audio and video format, has taken a new journey as a 24-hour music channel, Songdew TV. Songdew TV is a first-of-its-kind platform for artists to collaborate, create, publish, promote and distribute their music.

     

    Videocon d2h has partnered exclusively with Songdew for a 24-hour active service providing a TV platform to Indie music to over 19 million households across India. The channel will show the best of independent music, live acts from across the country.

     

    Commenting on the partnership, Sunil Khanna, Founder – Songdew mentioned that “More than 28000+ talented musicians and bands creating some outstanding music, lack a platform to present their creation to music lovers in India. Songdew TV is a giant step in that direction and we are delighted to partner with Videocon d2h as our first DTH platform”

  • Sandip Tarkas moves on from full-time role at Future Group, to consult with Future and set up own consultancy

    Veteran advertising and media professional SandipTarkashas called it quits at the Future Group, though he will continue to stay on as a Consultant. December 31 was his last day at Future where he was CEO Sports Media and Special Projects.

     

    So what prompted the decision, we asked him. “Well, I have been discussing for around three years with the boss [Kishore Biyani] and I am not really growing any younger.”

     

    Tarkas will continue to consult with Future on its kabaddi foray and instore media, and is working on his new venture. Which is? “Well, it’s got to do with the media and retail space,” is all that he says for now. A team of around six professionals has already been assembled, though it may be a few months or weeks before operations start.

     

    After his education at IIT Bombay and IIM Bangalore, Tarkas worked across marketers and the media over the last 27 years. These being: Blow Plast, GroupM, MPG, Media Direction, Reliance ADAG and Future Group where he spent nine days short nine years.

     

  • Razorfish to partner Bengal Warriors online

    The Star TV backed Pro Kabaddi League has brought a sport of inner-India to the forefront. Future Group’s origins from Bengal may have been a natural extended association to the Bengal Warrior team. On choosing Razorfish as the digital agency, Sandip Tarkas, President Future Group said, “Razorfish is one of the best Global Digital agencies and the team also has a deep understanding of the Indian consumer.
