  • Merkle Sokrati inks content partnership with TikTok India

    Dentsu Aegis Network’s Merkle Sokrati has inked a strategic partnership deal with TikTok in India. The partnership will enable clients to connect with users on TikTok.

  • Motivator appoints Mausumi Kar as Managing Director

    Motivator has announced the appointment of Mausumi Kar as its India Managing Director effective from October 1. She will report into Sam Singh, CEO of GroupM, South Asia.

     

    Kar has been associated with GroupM for over 10 years and has handled multiple roles from heading Maxus–North and East, to leading the Google Partnership for GroupM nationally. Before the move, she led the independent SBU that handled the Airtel mandate.

     

    On the announcement Sameer Singh, CEO of GroupM, South Asia said: “It’s a welcoming change in the organisation. I have seen her work and feel her leadership skills and experience will play a vital role in the firm. I’m looking forward to working with her and wish her all the best for her new role.”

     

    Talking about her new role, Kar said: “It has been a rewarding journey at GroupM. I am excited and looking forward to the new assignment.   • Sameer Singh is CEO, GroupM South Asia

     

    GroupM has announced the appointment of Sameer ‘Sam’ Singh as CEO of its South Asia operations. Singh will lead the continued development of GroupM’s data-centric enablement for its agencies as they deliver competitive advantage to clients with digital leadership and content. Based in Gurugram starting in July, Singh will report to CVL Srinivas, Country Manager, WPP India and Mark Patterson, CEO, GroupM Asia Pacific.

     

    Singh joins GroupM from Google India where he was Director- Sales, responsible for the agency business. He was earlier based at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California where he worked on measurement, brand consulting, insights and product solutions. In a career spanning over 25 years across various geographies including India, China, UK, USA, and the Middle East, Singh, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta, worked across brand management, marketing services, media, forecasting ROI and research, sales and procurement at Gillette, P&G, GSK and Google. Prior to Google, he was VP, Global Media at GSK where he led their global pitch, set up the global media team and embedded digital excellence.

     

    Srinivas has been CEO for GroupM South Asia since January 2013. In October 2017, he was given the additional responsibility of Country Manager for WPP India. He will now transition fully to his WPP role.

     

    On Singh’s appointment, CVL Srinivas, Country Manager, WPP India said: “When planning the leadership succession, we found in Sam the perfect candidate who could take GroupM South Asia to the next level.   • 9 Indian entries shortlisted for FOM Awards

    After much deliberation, the 70 strong judging panel, led by Sameer Singh, VP, head of global media of GSK have cast their votes for the much anticipated Festival of Media Awards.

     

    A shortlist of 191 campaigns across 19 categories has been selected, recognizing the very best in media thinking from around the world including countries such as Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Germany, India, Japan, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Sweden, UAE, UK, US and many more

     

    The entries from India that have managed to make it to the shortlists include Hindustan Unilever (HUL)’s Kissanpur 2.0 “Where What You Grow Is What You Eat” campaign in the Best Communication Strategy while Madison Media Infinity’s ‘How Radio triggered 1.6 years of engagement around an unspeakable problem’ campaign for Mediker Anti-Lice Treatment Naturals was shortlisted in the Best Engagement Strategy category.

     

    In the category of Best Event / Experiential, Mindshare found three of its campaigns vying for the top prize including ‘106,000 Found’ for Closeup Toothpaste; Sunlight – It’s Raining Roses for Sunlight Detergent Powder and Surf EW-Worshipping the Lord with 10 Hands for Surf Excel.

     

    Mediacom’s Soldier for Women for Gillette India was nominated in the Best Use of Content category, while PHD had two of its entries ‘Mobile Entertainment Box’ for Kaan Khajura Teshan and ‘Good Life Club’ for Brooke Bond that were nominated in the Best Use of Mobile category.

     

    In the Effectiveness Award, Madison Media Infinity’s ‘Convincing consumers to become our sales force’ for its client Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil was the final shortlist that was nominated from India.
