  • Rediff appoints Uttio Majumdar to head Mumbai ops

    Rediffusion Y&R is on a hiring spree. Uttio Majumdar is the latest addition to the leadership team. He joins the agency as Head of Operations- Mumbai and will work closely with Company President Dhunji S Wadia.

     

    Prior to joining Rediffusion Y & R, Majumdar was Vice President and Executive Business Director at J Walter Thompson, Kolkata. He worked with JWT for 21 years. He was heading the agency team on Exide, ITC Limited (Tobacco Brands & Corporate), Tata Steel, Berger Paints and The Telegraph. He is reputed for transforming the agency relationship on these accounts.

     

    He was one of the early movers in to the digital space way back in 2000 when he moved to JWT, Chennai and was involved in setting up a specialized integrated communication cell focusing on dotcoms and IT projects. Headed the agency team on Satyam Infoway (eBusiness& B2B Portals), SSI Technologies, NetFinex, ApolloLife.com and TexWorld.com. He has successfully driven digital initiatives for clients like Exide and Tata Tiscon.

     

    Majumdar played an important role during the initial days of mobile telephony in India and was responsible for development of communication programmes to drive consumer awareness and education about the new-born category and handling the communication for early mergers and acquisitions like the transformation of Modi Telstra to Spice. Worked across two circles (Modi Telstra in Kolkata and SkyCell in Chennai)

  • Eveready unveils new TVC for LED bulb

    Rediffusion Y & R has unveiled a new campaign that showcases Eveready’s new product line- LED bulbs.

     

    Speaking on the new product launch and campaign, Amritanshu Khaitan, Managing Director, Eveready Industries India Ltd, says, “Eveready has forayed into the LED segment early this year. This product line presents the new face of the company, which has been traditionally associated with batteries and flashlights.   • Pramod Sharma returns to Rediff as ECD

    Rediffusion Y & R has announced the appointment of Pramod Sharma as Executive Creative Director. He joins the agency from Soho Square (Ogilvy). This is his second stint in the group.

     

    Pramod comes with over 15 years of work experience across agencies like Ogilvy, Dentsu, Percept-Hakuhodo, Everest and DDB Mudra. During his career he has worked on brands such as Parle Products, Sony Sab TV, Sony Pal, Pantaloons, Maxx Mobiles, Fedex, ICICI, Reliance Communications, Readers Digest, Cisco,Tata Housing, Raymond Apparels.

  • Jaideep Mahajan returns to Rediff as NCD

    Jaideep Mahajan aka JD is back to Rediffusion Y&R as National Creative Head. He will work closely with CCO Rahul Jauhari and will be based out of the agency’s Delhi office. As a group resource, JD will also oversee the creative product of Everest Delhi.

     

    With over 17 years of industry experience, JD comes with a 100-plus International and national Awards and big brand work to his credit. He has worked with agencies such as JWT,Contract,Linen Lintas, McCann Erickson, Kuala Lumpur, Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide, Kuala Lumpur and Rediffusion Y&R.

     

    His recently launched DaburVatika Shampoo ‘Brave & Beautiful’ campaign was one of the more talked about and discussed campaigns of 2014-15. He launched Airtel in Sri Lanka which generated excellent results.

  • Everest gets Aradhana Bhushan to head Mumbai ops

    Everest Brand Solutions has appointed Aradhana Bhushan as Vice President, Everest Mumbai. In her new role, she will be reporting to Dhunji S. Wadia, President Rediffusion Y & R and Everest Brand Solutions and add to the company’s leadership team.

     

    On her appointment Dhunji S.Wadia said, “I am very excited that Aradhana will now lead Everest, Mumbai. Her strong leadership skills will enhance the quality of work that we do for our clients and add value to their brands.”

     

    Aradhana has over two decades of industry experience and has played several roles in Marketing and Brand Management in client organisations. She has also led Client Management engagements in advertising. Over the years she has worked with JWT, HSBC, Hiranandani Group, Conscious Food and EKCO – most of them in leadership positions.

     

    In her vast experience, Aradhana has worked on several brands, across categories – Hindustan Unilever Limited-Sunsilk, Diamond Trading Company-DeBeers, Godrej Appliances, Halls, Listerine, to name a few.

     

    Aradhana is an MBA in Marketing from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.

     

  • Rediffusion Y & R announces leadership changes

    Rediffusion Y & R has announced the elevation of Kavita Kailas as the new Chief Strategy Officer while Prithviraj Banerjee has been promoted as the Strategy Planning Head Everest Brand Solutions. This in addition to his current role.

    Speaking on the development Dhunji S. Wadia, President, Rediffusion Y & R said: “For quite some time Gautam Talwar has been nurturing the idea of pursuing interests beyond advertising. And I think the time has come to allow him to follow his passions. So after a hard working stint Gautam is taking a well-deserved break before deciding what his next chapter should be. I thank him for all his help and support and wish him the very best in whatever he chooses to do.”

     

    Kavita Kailas also is promoted to Chief Strategy Officer and will continue to be the lighthouse resource for clients and brands. “She is meant for this role. For the last few years she has been heading the Strategic Planning Function across our Delhi, Kolkata and Southern operations. She has been exemplifying every day what it means to be a client’s most valued partner. Kavita has a great love of our business, our clients and our people that infuses all that she does,” added Wadia.

     

    Also, Prithviraj Banerjee has been appointed Strategy Planning Head, Everest. This would be in addition to his current responsibilities.
