  • AROI conducts listenership study during lockdown

    People trust FM stations as credible sources of info. According to the latest research by AZ Research, people across a sample size of 3300 people among 18+ urban agglomeration population, 82 per cent people have been tuning in to radio during Covid-19, with FM channels emerging as the second-most credible source of information for the masses. As per the research, radio has a credibility score of 6.27, second only to the internet which is at 6.44 and TV at 5.74.

     

    Infact, the radio industry witnesses a listenership of 51 million people, which is nearly as much as television’s reach of 56 million and social media’s reach of 57 million. A few more noteworthy highlights of the research include radio’s at home listenership which has increased by 22 per cent and has grown from 64 to 86 per cent. The time that people spend listening to radio has increased by 23 per cent to 2.36 hours everyday during the lockdown, second only to television.   • T-Series & Red FM announce ‘The Care Concert’

    FM radio network 93.5 Red FM and T-Series have come together to bring a new digital initiative ‘The Care Concert’ on April 11, 2020, 6pm onwards. The concert would be streamed on YouTube and Facebook handles of both T-Series and the Red FM network. Viewers can log in, enjoy the performances with the line-up of 15 plus artists and contribute any amount they wish to the PM CARES Fund through a link provided for the donations.

  • Red FM encourages social distancing via latest ad campaign

    After launching a national awareness campaign ‘Care Karona’, 93.5 Red FM is now urging people to practice social distancing amid Coronavirus pandemic and stay at home. Red FM has come-up with a creative rendition of its logo to emphasise on the importance of social distancing.

     

    Notes a communique: “Whether it is exclusive interviews with medical experts, RJs doing 20 seconds speed links in their shows with an alarm that highlights the importance of hygiene, taking-up WHO’s ‘Safe Hands Challenge’ or giving Work From Home to all their employees, Red FM is doing every bit to ensure mass awareness while maintaining safety of their staff.”

     

     

  • Red FM launches in Dehradun

    This one is specially for our friend, star columnist and Consulting Editor Ranjona Banerji, our friends Gurbir Singh who hails from the Uttarakhand capital and senior ad professional and educator Vikas Mehta (who like Banerji, now lives there) and our former colleague Shubhangi Mehta who hails from the city: 93.5 Red FM has launched its new station in Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was present at the station launch celebrating along with the Red FM team.

     

    Speaking about the launch, Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM said: “We are extremely excited to launch the first FM station in Dehradun. In line with our Phase III launch, the expansion is a strategic endeavour to tap into newer markets.  With Dehradun we launched our 66th Station and strengthen our foothold further in the northern part of India.”

     

     

  • India Radio Forum held. Red FM wins Best Radio Network award

    India Radio Forum was held last week in Gurugram and a highlight of the event was the Excellence in Radio Awards (ERA). The show was opened by B Surendar, COO of Red FM Network followed by a panel discussion with Abraham Thomas of Radio City, DivyaKarani, CEO – Dentsu India and Rohit Upadhyay, MD & CEO, iBroad 7 Communication.

     

    This was followed by asession moderated by Naresh Gupta from Bang in the Middle along with Mausumi Kar, MD, GroupM India and Priti Murthy, CEO, OMD India.

     

    IRF 2018 also saw a conversation between radio expert Elliot Stechman of the AVC Group and Tapas Sen, Chief Programming Officer of Radio Mirchi. The concluding session was moderated by Rajat Uppal, National Marketing Head of Red FM, titled ‘Creating Brands and Sub-Brands in a Cluttered Space’RJ Malishka, Swaroop Banerjee of Tribe Asia, Joy Chouhan of JWT Delhi and Saahil Kumar of Sennheise.

  • Radio Mirchi & Red FM to co-host show for PepsiCo’s Quaker Oats+Milk

    PepsiCo India’s Quaker Oats+Milk along with Mindshare will bring together Radio Mirchi and Red FM,  two of India’sleading radio stations, as a part of the ‘Power of Two’ campaign. Earlier this year, Quaker Oats+Milk introduced a unique combination of the goodness of oats and the power of milk in the Indian markets.

     

    ‘Power of Two’ will see the two radio stations come together to put up a “magnum opus show” to highlight the importance of right nutrition. Spanning over four hours, RJ Raunac, of Bauaa fame, and RJ Naved, famously known for Mirchi Murga, will entertain listeners with their diverse personalities, comic timing and love for music and nutrition.

     

    Speaking on the association Deepika Warrier, Vice President, Nutrition Category – PepsiCo India, said: “We are glad we have been able to bring two greats from radio together to showcase the Power of Two.   • Red FM enters Jammu & Kashmir

    Red FM under its Phase III expansion has launched its new station in Jammu. Speaking about the new launch, Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM said, “Our clear strategy is to expand into newer markets and capital cities. With this launch, we have entered into all key markets in India. This is also part of our strategy to establish our leadership status. Having said that, FM radio’s entry into such sensitive markets is a major step for the growth of FM India. These markets require entertainment sources and radio fills in the need gap. As RED FM, we are delighted to launch our 6th new station this year after Jodhpur, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Patna & Surat.     The station will have CHR (Contemporary Hit Radio) format for the city, playing Hindi and Punjabi superhit music.   • Red FM launches stations in Surat and Patna

    Radio network 93.5 Red FM has launched stations in Patna and Surat. This comes close on the heesl of launches in Jodhpur, Chandigarh and Amritsar.

     

    Speaking about expanding 93.5 Red FM’s frequencies, COO Nisha Narayanan said: “The Red FM team is very excited with this new market launch which will have fresh and new RJ voices. Under the Phase 3 expansion both Patna and Surat were the cities which were slotted. These cities are very popular for the unique cultures and our aim is to capitalise on this by localising the content.’’

     

    As a part of the launch, Red FM kickstarted an on-air contest on June 15 wherein listeners have a chance to win a brand new Royal Enfield bike.

     

  • Red FM launches new show across 21 cities

    Red FM launched a new showto “tackle their listeners’ Saturday night woes”. BDM (Bollywood Dance Music) with DJ Chetas has been launched across 21 markets (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Nasik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Ahmadabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Bhopal, Indore Jabalpur, Jamshedpur, Bhubaneshwar) and will be aired between 9pm and 12midnight every Saturday.

     

    Talking about the show, Nisha Narayanan, COO, Red FM said:“India in three words is cricket, cuisine and cinema.   • Red FM hosts Malayalam Music Awards in Cochin

    Red FM 93.5 organised the first edition of its ‘Red FM Malayalam Music Awards’ at in Kochi on Sep 3. This show was inaugurated by superstar Mammootty. Stars from the Malayalam entertainment industry like Dulquer Salmaan, Dileep, Kunchacko Boban, etc took active part in the show. Actor and MPSuresh Gopi presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to music legend M.K.Arjunan fondly called as ‘Arjunan Master’
