  • It’s Cake-time for Havas India

    Havas Group India has announced the launch of UK-based creative agency, Cake, in the country. Cake India is billed as the country’s first creative agency specialising in sport, culture, and entertainment. It will be part of Havas Creative Group India.

     

    Cake will be seamlessly integrated with Havas Village India, and work closely with Shobiz Havas and the recently renewed Havas Sports & Entertainment vertical of Havas Media Group India. Cake will further augment the expertise brought forth by Shobiz Havas in the space of activation and deals, and partnerships by Havas Sports and Entertainment.

     

    To lead Cake in India, Havas Group India has appointed Rajika Mittra as Managing Partner. Mitra is better known for bringing in Promax and the India Radio Forum for many years.

  • Viacom18 & Star max Promax BDA India awards

    The 22nd Promax India BDA Awards was held in Mumbai last week with a line-up of speakers across industries and platforms..

     

    Speaking about the success of the event, Rajika Mittra, Country Head, India, Hong Kong and Philippines, said: “We realise that storytelling is evolving and creativity has to be platform agnostic. That’s the reason, we brought in eminent personalities from across the globe who can share their dynamic experience across multiple platforms with this eclectic group. The idea was to take the game higher and challenge the Indian creative industry even

     

    Promax BDA introduced three new categories this year: Most Outstanding Marketing Initiative (inhouse and out-of-house) and Most Outstanding Design In Promotion where the best of the best competed to win a Gold trophy. This year, these prestigious awards were taken home by Star India, Zee and Star Movies.

     

    Said Prasoon Joshi, Conference Chair, Promax BDA, 2018 looking at the award-winning categories: “It’s amazing how year after year, TV networks and creative agencies are tapping into the Indian cultural kaleidoscope and coming up with ideas that are fresh, cutting-edge and shareworthy on all platforms.     There were many firsts for the Promax BDA India awards this year, notes a communique. New categories that included Best VOD Service Promo, Best use of digital and Best direction. Further, a successful boot camp with three creative musketeers- Rob Middleton, Arnab Chaudhri and Pete Bishop – who super-charged the atmosphere with [V] machine, a hand- on creative drill that covered everything to create award-winning promos for a 360 audience.

     

    This year, The Promax BDA Awards gave away 60 Golds and 57 Silver metals.

     

     

  • India Radio Forum held. Red FM wins Best Radio Network award

    India Radio Forum was held last week in Gurugram and a highlight of the event was the Excellence in Radio Awards (ERA). The show was opened by B Surendar, COO of Red FM Network followed by a panel discussion with Abraham Thomas of Radio City, DivyaKarani, CEO – Dentsu India and Rohit Upadhyay, MD & CEO, iBroad 7 Communication.

     

    This was followed by asession moderated by Naresh Gupta from Bang in the Middle along with Mausumi Kar, MD, GroupM India and Priti Murthy, CEO, OMD India.

     

    IRF 2018 also saw a conversation between radio expert Elliot Stechman of the AVC Group and Tapas Sen, Chief Programming Officer of Radio Mirchi. The concluding session was moderated by Rajat Uppal, National Marketing Head of Red FM, titled ‘Creating Brands and Sub-Brands in a Cluttered Space’RJ Malishka, Swaroop Banerjee of Tribe Asia, Joy Chouhan of JWT Delhi and Saahil Kumar of Sennheise.

     

    Said Rajika Mittra, Special Projects Director and the chief curator of the India Radio Forum: “The show ended on a high note where the industry came together to discuss issues and offer solutions.   • PromaxBDA & IRF appoint Moe’s Art as communications partner

     

    PromaxBDA India and India Radio Forum Awards 2018 has announced its partnership with Moe’s Art. Moe’s Art will be fulfilling its mandate as a Communication Partner for the fourth consecutive year with PromaxBDA and for the second year in a row with India Radio Forum.

     

    Commenting on the association, Rajika Mittra, Country Head (India, Hong Kong and Philippines) – PromaxBDA said: “We have a long-standing association with Moe’s Art for these events and it has always been a great experience working with them. We are happy to have them as our ‘Communication Partner’ for the 2018 edition as well.     Promax has brought on board digital agency The Small Big Idea (TSBI) to partner on the upcoming awards ceremony. TSBI recently kickstarted with a social media campaign to announce the keynote speaker for the event.

    Conceptualised as ‘#IndustryInsults’, the campaign aims to introduce Mr Bingo, ​infamous for sending hate emails, in an innovative and quirky manner creating the much-desired intrigue on this addressal at the event. The campaign will acquaint consumers to ‘Mr. Bingo’ in a style that’s today benchmarked by his own witty illustrated insults.
