    By A Correspondent

SBI General Insurance has assigned its creative duties to Rediffusion.

    Shefali Khalsa

Said Shefali Khalsa, Head- Brand, Corporate Communication & Website Sales, SBI General Insurance: “The brand affinity for SBI General is high amongst Indians. Completing a decade of operations in the industry, we believe it is the right time to re-focus on the brand identity and align with our digital focused infrastructure & outlook. Basis a defined brief, backed by detailed research, Rediffusion came up with a beautiful concept that resonated with our brand and was the  best, of a good lot of pitch presentations. We are glad to have  such an expert team onboard, backed by strong leadership, to manage this brand exercise from planning to execution.”

    Navonil Chatterjee

Added Navonil Chatterjee, Joint President & Chief Strategy Officer, Rediffusion Brand Solutions on the appointment: “Winning SBI General Insurance is a triple treat for us! Firstly, General Insurance is a severely under-penetrated category in India, which makes it a planner’s delight. The barriers to adoption are many and it is something that is sold and not bought. Eventually when one buys, it is still a grudge purchase. It’s perceived as a waste of hard-earned money that is going to go needlessly down the drain, because nothing bad will ever happen to me and my valuable things! We not only have the challenging task of building the brand, but also the formidable onus of growing the category.

    Rahul Jauhari

And this is what Rahul Jauhari, Joint President & Chief Creative Officer, Rediffusion Brand Solutions said on the appointment: “”SBI General Insurance combines the maturity and wisdom of SBI with the agility and energy of a young industry player. Their passion is infectious and we look forward to working with them in this exciting space.”

  • PGIM India launches its first campaign in India

    By A Correspondent

PGIM, the global investment management brand of US-based Prudential Financial, Inc. (PFI), has launched its new brand in the Indian market called, PGIM India Mutual Fund.

Said Sakshi Dalela, Head-Marketing PGIM India Mutual Fund: “The campaign insight came from close group one-on-one discussions with millennials across metros and mini-metros to understand their values, priorities, attitude towards money and their outlook towards life. Most of them realize the importance of intelligently planning their finances to have an edge in life. While most millennials aspire to travel the world, earn high salaries and establish a good work-life balance, almost all of them were also passionate about making a positive impact on society. We found our insight in this millennial behavior – If they can plan their finances well, either on their own or with expert guidance, they will not need to think twice before acting on their wishes – be it to travel the world, enjoy experiences or for that matter give back to society”

Added Rahul Jauhari, Joint President and Chief Creative Officer, Rediffusion Brand Solutions:  “There is a visible urge amongst young people to connect with and make a positive impact on their surroundings. When your finances are better planned, the urge can translate into action a lot more easily. And the young actively seek credible sources of wisdom and guidance when it comes to financial planning. We connected the two – the campaign brings out the ease with which the youth can follow their heart, without worrying too much about the financial aspect. A little planning and smarter investments help along the way.”

  • SBI says #HoSaktaHai for its latest home loans campaign

    By A Correspondent

State Bank of India has launched a new multimedia campaign titled ‘#HoSaktaHai.’ The campaign – created by Rediffusion – aims to reach out to aspiring home owners with a slew of innovative solutions.

Speaking on the campaign, Dinesh Menon, Chief Marketing Officer, SBI said: “While home loan is a highly involved product category, most advertising in the category lacks adequate engagement and appeal from a communication perspective. Hence, it was important for us to not only ensure the brand story gets heard but discussed and recalled as well, amidst all the clutter and fragmented media consumption.  We are delighted at this bunch of films which have a poetic charm to them and are certainly clutter breaking.  We adopted a digital first approach and are happy to see that it has resonated well with different target audiences each piece of communication has been designed to address. We are optimistic this campaign will certainly augur well for our home loans business and stir some category conversation.’’

Added Rahul Jauhari, Joint President & Chief Creative Officer, Rediffusion: “While the intention was to be different and clutter-breaking, we focused on bringing alive the constraints faced by aspiring home buyers. Very often they don’t take the plunge because they don’t have a loan option that suits their specific challenges. It was refreshing to have the client not just demand, but also back a brave idea to the hilt.”

Said Navonil Chatterjee, Joint President & Chief Strategy Officer, Rediffusion: “This campaign is all about the strange ‘mathematics of emotion’. We are promoting something like home loans which are worth lakhs and crores, with small, inexpensive objects like dancing dolls and toy elephants that cost just a few hundred bucks! But these inanimate objects are what people dream of decorating and enlivening their new houses with. And this is where emotion trumps mathematics by loosening the purse-strings, by tugging at the heart-strings!”

    By A Correspondent

Said Navonil Chatterjee, Joint President & Chief Strategy Officer, Rediffusion Brand Solutions: “Our belief is that Creativity needs to be amplified to the power of technology to arrive at break-through solutions for brands. And when Creativity meets Technology, the result is Connections, Conversations and Conversions. That’s the future of brand building and that’s what this new Rediffusion is poised to deliver on.”

Added Rahul Jauhari, Jt.President & Chief Creative Officer, Rediffusion Brand Solutions: “The need to build powerful brands has never gone. What has changed is the toolset to do so and the environment in which we operate. Brand building is what we have done for decades now. It’s in our blood. In this world of data, analytics and never ending stream of possible specialist partners, the new Rediffusion aims to be that one partner who will hold our clients’ hand as they build their brand in this mad new world of marketing,”

  • TVS Tyres promotes product safety in latest film by Rediffusion

    By A Correspondent

TVS Tyres has unveiled its campaign titled #HeavyTested that has been conceptualised and created by Rediffusion. The campaign highlights the brand’s product edge and comprises three commercials carried through TV and extended to print, digital and outdoor.

Commenting on the new launch, P Vijayaraghavan, Director, TVS Srichakra Ltd, said: Our communication this time has taken a fresh approach wherein we are highlighting our products’ high quality standards. Through the advertising campaign, we want to take our customer connect to the next level and appeal to a wider audience. The campaign theme #HeavyTested will cut across all media to gain ample momentum.”

Added Rahul Jauhari, Joint President and Chief Creative Officer- Rediffusion: “The idea of #heavytesting is to single-mindedly drive home the product superiority of our two wheeler tyres. There is a quiet confidence about the films that comes from knowing one’s strengths. The films don’t shout, rather they make a point, emphatically. We believe #heavytesting has an element of stickiness about it and can be leveraged strongly as we go ahead. While the shoot itself was a challenge for the entire team, I’m quite happy with the way everything has fallen into place.”

Although, the agency bagged the coveted State Bank of India account recently, there have been mixed reports on how the agency is doing in terms of business, thanks to an indifferent advertising services scenario in the country as well as a longstanding dispute with WPP group. But now with the exit of Sir Martin Sorrell from WPP, as reported by MxMIndia earlier, there have been talks of Rediff Y&R buying out the 40 per cent stake of WPP and Dentsu. In the past Rediffusion has lost some prized accounts like Airtel and Colgate.

With over three decades of experience in the business, Wadia has been associated with major national and international brands like Parle, Tata, Unilever, Nike, Levi Strauss, Diamond Trading Co, Kellogg, Aditya Birla Group, Sony Entertainment Television – Max and SAB, Kotak amongst others. Both Jauhari and Chatterjee joined Rediff in mid-2015.

The film highlights the tagline which emphasizes on the brand ethos. Said Dhunji S Wadia, Group President, Rediffusion Y& R who joined the Y&R network in India to helm Everest before taking on the larger group role: “To work with the secondmost experienced agency in the country is an unparalleled honour. No other agency would have the width of relationships and the depth of knowledge. Yet remaining humble in its dealings despite the accolades it has received in every award forum both locally and internationally. Rahul Jauhari
    Dhunji S. Wadia

Added Rahul Jauhari, Group Chief Creative officer, Rediffusion Y&R: “Everest has been the finest, warmest and most memorable stint of my career. It has rich legacy of big ideas and big brands. And over the years it has been home to some of the finest people in the industry. Everest does not brag about its credentials or its work. It has rather focused on partnering its clients in every sense of the word. I think that’s probably the one reason we have client associations that are older than most of the agencies in this country. For me, it’s been nothing short of a privilege.”

  • Kotak Mutual Fund launches ‘Jo Samjhega, Wo hi Paaega’ campaign

    By A Correspondent

Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company (KMAMC) has launched its new campaign ‘Jo Samjhega, Wo hi Payega’ to urge Indians to start investing in Mutual Funds as a prudent fiscal practice.

Under its investor education initiative, KMAMC aims to reach out to working professionals who have sufficient disposable income, but are apprehensive about market cycles and its pitfalls. Through this educative campaign, Kotak Mutual Fund addresses risk-averse investors’ common misconceptions about mutual fund investments. The campaign aims to instill confidence in investors’ minds in mutual funds in general, and SIPs in particular as the simplest way to invest, while looking to inculcate a consistent and disciplined approach to investments.

Kaiyomurz Daver, Vice President – Marketing, Kotak Mutual Fund said, “Research suggests that despite rapid growth, mutual fund penetration in India is still low compared to global peers, due to low financial literacy about the category and ill-informed perceptions surrounding mutual fund investments. The objective of the campaign is to create awareness about benefits of mutual funds and increase participation of the retail investor in equity markets. “Jo Samjhega, Wo hi Payega” highlights how SIP enables disciplined investments, even in small amounts, assisting in wealth creation over time.”

Rahul Jauhari, Chief Creative Director, Everest Brand Solutions said, “Most people don’t understand the nuances of personal finance so well. Most people listen to voices of authority in their lives. So we put the two things together – and landed on a simple way of explaining the benefits of doing an SIP. The cast has been kept close to real and the pitch of the films has been kept believable.”.

  • Catch Hing plays to the ‘tadka’ tune in new TVC

    By A Correspondent

Catch has unveiled a new TVC for Catch Hing. India has a long tradition of using Hing (asafetida) and is used widely in cooking, be it as a flavor enhancer, pickles or tempering.

The new Catch Hing TVC is play on the very word ‘tadka’ giving it a humorous twist, a touch of wit with an amusing story of  how a small incident gets tadka at every point and  grows out of proportion when it travels from one mouth to another, much like the oft played ‘Chinese Whispers.’ A harmless incident takes a hilarious turn by the time it reaches its conclusion with people often ‘spicing’ up things, while repeating them. The new Catch Hing Ka Tadka TVC captures this element of human behavior with the tagline – ‘Ab India Lagaye Catch Hing Ka Tadka.’

Commenting on this occasion, OP Khanduja, Associate Business Head, DS Spiceco Pvt. Ltd said, “The Catch Brand is an established household name and with Catch Hing we are now offering the best quality Hing to give a flavorsome tadka to food. We hope to make a real impact through humour and irreverence and catch the imagination of the Indian public through a TVC that falls in the genre of a light-hearted comedy and aims to extract humour and laughter  from everyday incidents in our lives.”

Rahul Jauhari, Group Chief Creative Officer, Everest Brand Solutions added, “Advertising needs to be as entertaining as it needs to be convincing. So we used a potent combination of both to drive home the superiority and scale of Catch Hing. The brand has been consistent on its communication path and has gone from strength to strength every year. We hope to see these campaigns do the good job the previous ones have done.”
