    Grey group has announced a new structure and go-to market strategy in India. The creativie agency Grey Group has been merged with Autumn Grey. Anusha Shetty, CEO Autumn Grey, has been appointed Chairman & Group CEO, Grey Group India. Yashaswini Samat – current CEO of GREY India will be relocating to Singapore to take up a Senior integrated role for WPP/GREY. She will continue to report to Singh.

    Prior to this, Shetty has held progressive assignments in agencies like Lowe and Euro RSCG, working on multiple brands including; Intel, Titan, Unilever, Honeywell, to name just a few.

     

    Shetty will work closely with Nirvik Singh to ensure a seamless transition of leadership as they combine the creative strength of Grey with data-driven digital solutions from Autumn Grey, to create a future-facing agency model and framework.

    Meanwhile, Sandipan Bhattacharyya, CCO, has been promoted to Managing Director and Chief Creative Officer, Grey group India. Bhattacharyya has over 20 years of experience in advertising, prior to GREY he has worked at BBDO India, Enterprise Nexus and Saatchi & Saatchi.

    ). Add a few dozen weeks, and Michael Houston, Worldwide CEO of Grey group, has announced the appointment of Singh as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Grey Group, a new global position.

     

    A thirty-year veteran of Grey Group and having started his career in Grey India, Singh has served as Chairman and CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa since 2016, a post he will retain, headquartered in Singapore.

     

    As COO, Singh will lead the development of Grey’s borderless integrated marketing model; identify acquisition targets and new capabilities to enhance the agency’s best-in-class offering and build its future-facing digital, social, shopper marketing and design practices, notes a communique.

     

    Said Houston: “For three decades, Nirvik has been a prime mover in Grey’s growth and development in Asia, and most recently, in the Middle East and Africa.  I know he will bring the same single-minded dedication and achievement to his expanded responsibilities.  He will work closely with me to broaden our reach and resources for the future.”

  • Exclusive: Nirvik Singh to be Worldwide COO, Grey Group

    India is indeed shining on the global advertising industry map. Senior advertising and marketing services professional Nirvik Singh is said to be taking charge as Worldwide Chief Operating Officer of the WPP-owned Grey Group. Singh has served as Chairman & CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific since 2009. In December 2016, Singh was promoted and given the additional responsibility as Chairman & CEO Middle East and Africa, in addition to his current role of Chairman & CEO Asia Pacific.

    He is also Non-Executive Chairman of Raymond Apparel and on the Board of retail gian Shoppers Stop.

    According to sources, an announcement on this has been made internally and the media will be informed in a few days.

     

     

  • Yashaswini Samat takes charge as Chairman & MD of Grey. Sunil Lulla exits, rumoured to be joining Balaji as Group CEO

    The winds of change are blowing at Grey India. Or have blown already, one may say. Yashaswini Samat, who has been leading P&G, Grey’s biggest clientfor the AMEA region, will be adding to her current responsibilities and has been promoted to Chairman and Managing Director, GreyGroup India. Based in Mumbai, she will work closely with Nirvik Singh, Chairman& CEO, Grey Group Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, to grow the business and address current client needs. Samat takes over from Sunil Lulla who joined the agency to helm it since 2014. Lulla, it is rumoured, is likely to join Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms.

     

    Yashaswini (Yash), an alumnus of IIM Kolkata, has been Grey for 25 years, having joined the agency as an Account Director on Pantene. She has led and mentored large teams across different geographies (Europe, Asia and North America), diverse disciplines and cultures. Before moving back to Asia, Samat was Global Brand Agency Leader for Pantene based out of New York.

    Grey Group has unveiled a set of triple hires in a move to bolster its leadership core in Asia, with a special focus on Grey Group Singapore. The trio will play an instrumental role in deepening Grey Group Singapore’s creative offerings and creative processes, as well as drive the ongoing digital transformation of the company, across the region. The senior appointments demonstrate Grey’s commitment to design a path for repositioning and expanding its services, in order to focus on growth as well as meet clients’ needs.

     

    MånsTesch comes on board in the newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer for Grey Group Asia Pacific in order to lead the strategy teams and set the strategic direction across the region and to oversee Grey’s continued immersion into the areas of innovation, mobile and social.

     

    MarthinusStrydom has been appointed to the role of Global Creative Leader, Team GSK, Grey Group Singapore.  He will work closely with Ali Shabaz (Chief Creative Officer, Grey Group, South East Asia) to set the overall creative direction for Grey’s GSK operations. In line with the agency’s reputation for creative excellence, he will be responsible for fostering an even-deeper culture of creativity and accelerate Team GSK’s digital transformation. Over the span of his much-lauded career, Marthinus’ work has been recognized at the D&AD, Webby, Cannes, One Show, Effies, and has been featured on the Gunn Report and other prominent industry publications.

     

    The two appointments follow that of key senior hire, Neil Cotton, who has joined in the dual role ofGlobal Strategy Director for GSK and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for Grey Group Singapore.His career has seen him collaborate with many exciting brands such as Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Heineken, Audi, IBM, and Nokia, amongst others.

    The finishing touches are being added to the annual Asia-Pacific Awards and Festival for creative excellence in advertising and communications – Spikes Asia – is set to happen in Singapore from September 16-18.

     

    With a record number of entries and delegates expected, Spikes Asia 2012 is set to be an exciting and outstanding event, the organizers say. Said Terry Savage, Chairman of Lions Festivals: “There is a huge amount happening at Spikes Asia this year with many different elements combining to create a massive creative hub where regional work will be celebrated and admired, industry issues will be discussed and debated and creativity will be ignited.
