  • Montreux Switzerland Festival 2024 opens entries

    The Golden Award of Montreux has welcomed submissions from agencies, advertisers, media, digital, production, design and event companies worldwide, offering a platform for both national and international campaigns. Ass Montreux Festival has been a precursor to Cannes for 30 years now and is one of Europe’s premier advertising, media, digital, film and design festivals.

    Last year India secured five Gold Medals, with BC Web Wise triumphing in the Digital category, Tree Design in Design, Viacom18 Media and Leo Burnett excelling in Use of Media, and Cog Culture clinching two Golds, one in Design and another in Events.

    Ajay Chandwani, senior advertising professional and active member of the Abby Awards Governing Council is part of Montreux Festival 2024’ international jury.

  • The Montreux Advertising Festival entries open till March 31

    The 34th edition of Golden Award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux Switzerland in April, 2023. Montreux Festival has been a precursor to Cannes for 30 years now and is one of Europe’s premier Advertising, Media, Digital & Design Festivals.

     

    At last year’s Montreux Festival, Indian entries were successful and they won 4 Golds and 9 Finalist Certificates. BC Webwise, Blink Digital, Cog Culture and Tree Design won a Gold each. HT Labs, Blink Digital and BC Webwise won 2 Finalists each while Cog Culture won 3 Finalists. The Grand Prix of the Golden Award of Montreux was presented to Energy BBDO Chicago.

     

  • Montreux Festival 2022: India bags 4 Golds and 10 Finalists

    At the 33rd Golden Award of Montreux Festival, Indian companies won four Golds in the categories of Digital/Interactive, Direct Marketing and Design.

     

    BC WebWise bagged a Gold in the Digital category with the website for Vespa75 Bioscope. Blink Digital India was awarded Gold for ICICI Prudential Mutual “Quest2Invest”. In Direct Marketing, Cog Culture received a Gold for “Committed To Cure”‘ for Medharbour and Tree Design won Gold in the Design category for motion graphics on packaging for Tata Tea.

     

    Cog Culture won three Finalists for The Class of One, Osho Flexibles and Medharbour. HT Labs won two Finalists for OTT Play. Tree Design won two Finalists for PVR and one Finalist for Tata Tea. Blink Digital won two Finalists for ICICI Prudential Mutual and Amazon.

     

    Said Frank Bodin, President of Art Director Club, Switzerland: “Montreux is a place of world-class creativity,” “As a musician, you have to experience the Montreux Jazz Festival. As an advertiser, you have to have won a Golden Award of Montreux.”

     

    The Golden Award of Montreux only Golds, there is no Silver or Bronze – so the Finalist Certificate is also said to carry a lot of value.

  • Viacom and MTV win Gold at Montreux Festival

    This news ought to have appeared on Tuesday, but we were too caught up with the cyclone that thankfully didn’t hit Mumbai, though our friends elsewhere weren’t as lucky. Our apologies.

     

    The annual advertising festival in Switzerland, the Golden Award of Montreux, announced 2021 Winners with India winning five Golds and six Finalists. Viacom18 won two Golds while MTV, Chrome Pictures and Miami Design School Mumbai were awarded one Gold each. Viacom won Gold in the category Creative Use of Media with “Naati Pinky Ki Lambi Love Story” and in Digital/Interactive category with #CGPCLive (Colors Golden Petal Club)”. MTV’s  “Organ Daan” in the category Direct Marketing won a Gold. Chrome Pictures Media LLP was awarded with Gold for “Pooja Didi” in the Television-Cinema Category.Chrome won a Finalist for The 2021 Ad of the Year.

     

    The Grand Prix of the Golden Award of Montreux was presented to Energy BBDO Chicago for their work ‘The Kentucky Turtle Derby’. Old Forester, also from BBDO Chicago, was awarded two Golds in Digital and Media.

     

    The Golden Award of Montreux awards only Golds and Finalists – there are no Silvers or Bronzes. It is developed in conjunction with adforum.com. Veteran adperson Ajay Chandwani is on the jury from India and has, kind-of, been the ambassador and evangelist for the awards in India for many years.

    Entries close on April 14 for the 32nd edition of the Goldenaward of Montreux Advertising Festival that is scheduled this month at Montreux in Switzerland.

    The Montreux Festival has been a precursor to Cannes for 32 years now and is one of Europe’s leading Advertising and Media Festivals. The categories include Creative, Media, Design, TV/Cinema, Branded Content  Print, Direct, Digital, PR and Events. Veteran adperson Ajay Chandwani is on the jury this year, as in the past.

    Last year, Indian companies and agencies won 7 gold medals and 11 finalists at Montreux Festival 2020.

    Last year, Indian companies and agencies won seven gold medals and 11 finalists at Montreux Festival 2020. Viacom 18 led the Indian charge with four Golds followed by one Gold  each for Sony Entertainment, Tonic Media Worldwide and Miami Design School.

    The Viacom 18 golds were for MTV in Best Use of Integrated Media, Colors TV Channel for Mobile App of Colors Premier League and Social Media campaign of Vidya, Ridhi Meghani for Social Media campaign for Big Boss 13.

    Sony Marathi won a Gold for subliminal advertising of KBC in Best Use of Television, Tonic Worldwide won a Gold for MTV in Direct Response in Digital Marketing while Miami Design School Talent entry for Spotify won a Gold in the Digital/Social category.

     

    Mathrubhumi Publishing won two Finalist Awards, Viacom 18 won 4 Finalist Awards, Sony Marathi won two Finalist Awards and Tonic Worldwide won two Finalist Awards. In the New Talent section, Miami Design School Mumbai won three Finalist Awards.

     

    Energy BBDO Chicago won the Most Creative Agency of 2020.

  • Montreux Fest extends closing date to April 14

     

     

    The closing date for entries to Montreux Festival has been extended to April 14, 2018. The 29th edition of Goldenaward of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux on Lake Geneva in Switzerland on April 20.

     

    Among those on the jury are Davide Boscacci, Publicis Italy, Michael Weinzettl, Lürzer’s Archive, Bryan Barnes, BBDO New York, Luis Silva Dias FCB International, Olivier Teepe, Cloudfactory, The Netherlands, IstvanBracsok, White Rabbit, Hungary and India’s own Ajay Chandwani

    Senior industryperson, strategic brand engagement consultant and Director, Percept Ajay Chandwani is on the jury yet again of the Montreux adfest. The 29th edition of Goldenaward of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux  in Switzerland on April 20.

     

    Other than Chandwani, the  Montreux  International Jury  for 2018 comprises: Davide Boscacci, Publicis Italy, Michael Weinzettl, Lürzer’s Archive, , Bryan Barnes, BBDO New York, Luis Silva Dias  FCB International, Olivier Teepe, Cloudfactory, The Netherlands, Istvan Bracsok, White Rabbit, Hungary, Mark Chalmers,Virtue, Conor Brady Critical Mass, Ludovic Tenart, Havas Paris,, Barbara Aparo, fashion.tv , Paul Collins, Sapient Razorfish + Digitas , Michael Mrakovcic , DNA Counsel, Australia.

     

    The 2017 Golden Award of Montreux received more than 3,400 entries from 38 countries last year. The most successful agencies were BBDO New York, Heimat Berlin, BETC Paris.

     

    Last year, BBDO New York was once again the most successful agency at the  Montreux Festival for their work on Mars Chocolates and AT&T. Other prominent winners were Leo Burnett Germany for Fiat and McDonalds, BETC Paris for Evian and Canal +, DDB Argentina for Volkswagon,.

     

    India was very successful at last year’s competition with 6 Golds for PHD, Hindustan Unilever, Viacom 18, Jagran Prakashan, Tree Design and Mathrubhumi. To round up the Indian success, there was a Gold in the Talent Section for Miami Ad School Mumbai against tough international competition.

     

    In the preceding years Indian entries have won golds for Unilever ‘Kan Khajura Tashan’, Ramesh Deo Productions Nike Film, Leo Burnett India for Coke Studio and Gandhi.

     

    All winners are promoted through international press releases and publicity campaigns. They are also featured in the showcase section of the websites and adforum.com, the gateway to the advertising world. Entries for the 2018 edition closed on March 30.

     

     

  • HUL/PHD, Colors & Jagran lead Indian charge of 5 Golds at Montreux Festival

    The road to Cannes, it is said, starts from Montreux. Montreux Festival is a precursor to Cannes as it happens in April and every year many Cannes aspirants test their work at Montreux. Several Montreux winners in the past have gone on to win at Cannes.

     

    Indian companies and creative agencies struck five golds and sixteen finalists at the Golden Award Montreux Festival this year in Switzerland.

     

    PHD won a Gold and five finalists for HUL brands while Viacom 18 won a Gold and three Finalists. Jagran Prakashan did well with a Gold and 3 Finalists. Tree Design and  Mathrubhumi won a Gold and Finalist each.Other Indian winners were Living Foods channel (two finalists) and Dainik Bhaskar Publication-one finalist award.

     

    BBDO New York, BETC Paris and Heimat Berling Germany were the most awarded agencies with six Gold medals each at the Montreux Festival 2017.BBDO’s Golds were for Snickers, AT&T, Lowe’s, Sandy Hook. BETC were awarded for their creations for Evian, Canal+, Air France, Addict Aide, Leroy Merlin. Heimat received Golds for their work for Hornbach, FDP and Otto.

    Finalist winners of PHD/HUL were for Sunlight, Baby Dove, Rin Career Academy, Online campaign Readyforlife and “Khelogetohjeetoge” in Digital/Interactive,Direct Marketing and Mixed Media categories.

     

    Colors won three Finalists in Humor (IIFA 2016) Special Effects (Naagin Season 2), Campaign (Big Boss Season 10). Jagran Publication won three Finalist Awards in Direct Marketing and Media Promotion for Young Editor, Crowdsourcing and Jagran Film Festival.

     

    Living Foods won two Finalist Awards in Posters and TV Promotion Categories.DainikBhaskar won a Finalist in Events category, Tree Design’s brochure for PVR Cinemas won a Finalist and Mathrubhumi’s film Aarogyamasika won a Finalist in Corporate Image category.

     

    Commenting on the success of Indian companies, Ajay Chandwani Director Percept and Brand Engagement Consultant who was on the International Jury at Montreux said: ” India has been steadily climbing up on the international festival performance in the last few years. Montreux Festival Switzerland has been witnessing a significant rise in participation from India and this year’s haul of 5 Golds and 16 Finalists is India’s best performance yet. It’s also heartening to note the Golds and Finalists from India were in varied Categories like Digital, Mobile, Direct, Design, Print and Film. It is now a matter of time when India will create its own culture of advertising like Brazil, Japan or Thailand.”

    The 26th edition of Golden award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year in the picturesque Swiss resort town of Montreux on Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

     

    Montreux Festival is a precursor to Cannes and every year many Cannes aspirants test their work at Montreux. Last year the big winners were BBDO New York, BETC Paris and AMO BBDO, London.

     

    This years Montreux jury includes Jens Petter of BBDO New York, Tim Cheng of DDB China, Frank Bodin of Havas Switzerland, Luis Dias of Draft FCB Lisbon, Davide Boscacci of Leo Burnett Italy and Max Posch of Fashion TV. Ajay Chandwani, Director Percept Ltd and Brand Engagement Consultant is also a member of the jury.

     

    Last year BBDO New York’s humourous Snickers films “Coach” and “Horseless headman” stole the show along with DDB Argentina’s Volkswagon “Little hand” and Guiness “Clock” by AMVBBDO London.

     

    Last year Leo Burnett India had won 3 Golds at Montreux in Print and Direct Mail categories while Ramesh Deo Productions won a Gold in the Film category.

     

    Since the last few years, Indian agencies have been entering Montreux Festival in steadily increasing numbers as the pan-European Festival is concentrating on improving the Asia Pacific participation in the Festival.
