  • The Montreux Advertising Festival entries open till March 31

    The 34th edition of Golden Award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux Switzerland in April, 2023. Montreux Festival has been a precursor to Cannes for 30 years now and is one of Europe’s premier Advertising, Media, Digital & Design Festivals.

     

    At last year’s Montreux Festival, Indian entries were successful and they won 4 Golds and 9 Finalist Certificates. BC Webwise, Blink Digital, Cog Culture and Tree Design won a Gold each. HT Labs, Blink Digital and BC Webwise won 2 Finalists each while Cog Culture won 3 Finalists. The Grand Prix of the Golden Award of Montreux was presented to Energy BBDO Chicago.

     

  • Montreux entries close on April 10

    The 33rd edition of Golden award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux in end April 2021. Montreux Festival has been a precursor to Cannes for 30 years now and is one of Europe’s leading Advertising and Media Festivals.

     

    At last year’s Golden Award of Montreux Festival, Indian entries were successful despite tough international competition. Indian companies were awarded five gold medals. Viacom won two golds while MTV, Chrome pictures and Miami Ad School won one gold each. Viacom, MTV and Chrome Pictures also won finalist certificates.

     

    The Montreux Festival Talent Award has a contest for students and young professionals working on innovative projects in the field of advertising, e-contents and design. Miami Ad School Mumbai was awarded with a Gold and a Finalist.

     

    The Grand Prix of the Golden Award of Montreux was presented to Energy BBDO Chicago. Our own Ajay Chandwani is on the jury this year as well along with a galaxy of other global leading lights.

     

  • Montreux fest entries closing date extended to April 17

    The 30th edition of Golden Award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year at Montreux in Switzerland on April 25. Well, we’ve already written about that. The last date for entries has now been extended to April 17.

     

    The 2018 Golden Award of Montreux received more than 3,400 entries from 38 countries last year. The jury members include Ajay Chandwani, Director – Percept Ltd, amongst many others.

     

     

  • India bags 2 Golds & 7 Finalists @ Montreux Switzerland Festival

    The Montreux Advertising Festival is billed as a precursor to the Cannes Lions and every year many Cannes aspirants test their work at the fest held on the  on the picturesque Lake Geneva in the pretty resort town of Montreux, famous for it’s jazz festival and once home of icons like Freddy Mercury, Charlie Chaplin and Vladimir Nobokov. Veteran advertising professional Ajay Chandwani has been on the jury of the awards for some years.

     

    After India’s impressive haul at D&AD, One Show and Montreux, all eyes will now be on Cannes for an encore.The 27th edition of the Golden Award of Montreux Advertising saw Indian entries winning two Golds and seven Finalist positions.

     

    The two Golds were for Hindustan Unilever and the Dainik Bhaskar Group. PHD India won a Gold for Best Use of Mobile Media for it’s Rin Career Ready Academy while the Dainik Bhaskar Group’s film “Zid karo, Duniya Badlo” on girl child literacy won a Gold in the Corporate Film Category.

     

    There were 7 Finalists from India, which is being considered creditable since Montreux does not have a tradition of Silver or Bronze so a Finalist works like a metal here. Indian Finalists included SAP for their Direct Marketing project on Discover, 2 Finalists of Jagran Prakashan for “A newspaper initiates a quest “ and “ Creating a newspaper for the future”, PHD’s Vande Matram” for Hindustan Unilever, ITSA People’s Print work on HCL “Relationship beyond the Contract”, and two Finalists of Zee Entertainment Enterprises in TV Film for their promos on Border and Credit Card.

     

    BBDO New York was once again the most successful agency at the Montreux Festival for their work on Mars Chocolates, GE,Fedex, Footlocker. Other prominent winners were Leo Burnett Germany, Arnold Worldwide USA, Otto GmbH, Havas Worldwide, AMVBBDO UK. The films category was dominated by the BBDO TV films Crisper and Marilyn on Mars Chocolate.Leo Burnett’s “One Second” film on Dunlop and two Diageo films by AMVBBDO UK.

     

    BETC Paris dominated the Print and Direct category with two Golds in Print for Petit Bateau and Evian and a Direct Response Gold for Canal +. Creative agencies enter the Global Festival from across over the world with a higher share of American and European participation. Indian interest and performance in Montreux has grown over the years.

    The 26th edition of Golden award of Montreux Advertising Festival is scheduled this year in the picturesque Swiss resort town of Montreux on Lake Geneva in Switzerland.

     

    Montreux Festival is a precursor to Cannes and every year many Cannes aspirants test their work at Montreux. Last year the big winners were BBDO New York, BETC Paris and AMO BBDO, London.

     

    This years Montreux jury includes Jens Petter of BBDO New York, Tim Cheng of DDB China, Frank Bodin of Havas Switzerland, Luis Dias of Draft FCB Lisbon, Davide Boscacci of Leo Burnett Italy and Max Posch of Fashion TV. Ajay Chandwani, Director Percept Ltd and Brand Engagement Consultant is also a member of the jury.

     

    Last year BBDO New York’s humourous Snickers films “Coach” and “Horseless headman” stole the show along with DDB Argentina’s Volkswagon “Little hand” and Guiness “Clock” by AMVBBDO London.

     

    Last year Leo Burnett India had won 3 Golds at Montreux in Print and Direct Mail categories while Ramesh Deo Productions won a Gold in the Film category.

     

    Since the last few years, Indian agencies have been entering Montreux Festival in steadily increasing numbers as the pan-European Festival is concentrating on improving the Asia Pacific participation in the Festival.

     

  • Ajay Chandwani on Montreux fest jury

    The Golden award of Montreux Festival in Switzerland is scheduled to have its jury deliberations on April 25 this year in the Swiss resort town of Montreux. Also known for its annual jazz festival, the timing of the Montreux Advertising Festival is such that it is a good precursor to Cannes and Clio. The Festival of Media Global is also being held in Montreux from April 28 to 30.

     

    This year’s Montreux golden awards jury includes Frank Bodin of Havas Switzerland, Peter Sun of Y&R, Mike Sutherland of BBDO London, Luis Dias of Draft FCB Lisbon, Max Posch of Fashion TV and Olivier Teepe founder of Cloudfactory Netherlands.

    Ajay Chandwani, Director, Percept Limited is also on the jury this year as Asian participation is rising at the Festival. “Montreux is a great place to see the world’s best work before the work hits Cannes and other Festivals .”

     

    BBDO New York and AMV BBDO from UK dominated the golds won last year. Being Pan European in focus with American and European agencies doing well in the past,  the Montreux festival has been gaining awareness in India and Asia.

     

    Last year, Leo Burnett India won 2 golds in Print Craft for Bajaj Exhaust Fans and BBH India won a gold in the TV film category for World Gold Council.  Webchutney also won a gold in the Best Use of Mobile Media category.
