  • IAA hosts ‘World Goes Digital’ webinar with Sanjay Mehta & Hareesh Tibrewala

    The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter hosted Sanjay Mehta and Hareesh Tibrewala, veteran digital media specialist and Founders and Joint CEOs of Social Wavelength for its webinar conducted as part of the ‘World Goes Digital’ series.

     

    While evangelising the digital media, the duo spoke about the growing acceptance of the digital media by marketers and industry as a whole. “There has been a significant change over the years,” said Mehta. Added Tibrewala: “Digital Media should not be looked at by the ad spends, but also the way they can drive business activity.”

    “The industry – especially young professionals – gained much from the first-hand experiences that Sanjay Mehta and Hareesh Tibrewala shared at the IAA webinar,” said Srinivasan K Swamy, President IAA India Chapter & Vice President, Development Asia Pacific, IAA.

  • Maarten L Albarda to speak on ‘World Goes Digital’ at IAA webinar series

    The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter, has organised its next webinar on ‘World Goes Digital’ which will be addressed by Maarten L Albarda, renowned Marketing Consultant, former Global Director of Media & Communication Innovation, Coca-Cola on October 16, 2014 at 4pm.

     

    Maarten L Albarda has around 30 years of experience in advertising and marketing and started his career at JWT Amsterdam as a media planner. He moved to Leo Burnett and later to Coca-Cola, Japan where he developed the first integrated marketing campaign for Coke around the FIFA World Cup 2002. He moved to Coca-Cola Germany to share his World Cup learnings with the German marketing team for World Cup 2006.  In late 2005, Maarten relocated to Coke’s global HQ in Atlanta and then took on the responsibility for Media and Communication Innovation across all brands and key markets.

     

    In 2009, Albarda joined AB-InBevas as VP, Global Connections, with responsibility for all aspects of Media, Digital, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, CRM and Licensed Merchandise. In October 2012, he left the company to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

  • IAA Young Turks Forum to host Mahesh Bhatt and Stuart Sender

    The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter, has invited Mahesh Bhatt, renowned film-maker and Stuart Sender, President, Balcony Films, Los Angeles, USA on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 4pm to share their thoughts on ‘How Cinema influences Culture and Marketing’ and also interact with the audience as part of the IAA Young Turks Forum.

     

    HBO South Asia is Presenting Partner of the IAA Young Turks Forum. The event is being supported by the Bombay Stock Exchange.

     

    Mahesh Bhatt is a prominent film director, producer and screenwriter. His critically acclaimed movies include Arth, Saaransh, Janam, Naam, Sadak and Zakhm. He is also a columnist and is regularly featured in leading publications – both English & Hindi.

     

    Stuart Sender Film is a producer, director & writer and has been nominated twice at The Academy Awards. He has crafted stories of influential people, including Nelson Mandela, HRH the Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) and actor Matt Damon.

  • IAA Young Turks Forum to host Nihal Kaviratne

    The International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter has announced its next important initiative – IAA Young Turks Forum – which is focused on young executives who are keen to interact and learn from industry leaders. This will be a bi-monthly series and for the inaugural one, Nihal Kaviratne, CBE, Chairman, Akzo Nobel India has agreed to meet the young professionals to address as well as mentor them. Nihal Kaviratne will initially present an analysis of consumption trends in Asia and then interact with the audience on leadership in turbulent times.

     

    The series will be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 5 pm at the Hall of Harmony, Nehru Centre, Worli. HBO South Asia is the Presenting Partner for IAA Young Turks Forum.

     

    Kaviratne was cited in the Queen’s 2004 New Year Honours List in the UK and was awarded as the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to UK business interests and for sustainable development in Indonesia. In January 2004, he moved from being Chairman of Unilever Indonesia to a regional role in the Unilever Asia Business Group based in Singapore as Senior Vice President – Development & Environmental Affairs. In January 2005, he assumed additional responsibility as Chairman of Unilever’s US$2.5 billion Home & Oral Care business in Asia.

     

    Today, Kaviratne is Director of DBS Group & Bank, StarHub, Singapore Airport Terminal Services Limited (SATS), Wildlife Reserves Singapore, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Limited. He is a member of the Governing Board of Bombay Mothers & Children Welfare Society.

  • IAA launches webinar series, Google’s Rajan Anandan to address inaugural session on April 25

    The International Association of Advertisers (India Chapter) has announced its next interesting initiative – the Face 2 Face series with the theme ‘World Goes Digital’.*

    Speaking on the new initiative, Srinivasan K Swamy, President, IAA India Chapter, said, “With digital media gaining prominence, an increasing number of advertisers are reaching out to consumers via the internet and mobile platforms. However, there is still a fair deal of inertia when it comes to embracing the interactive world. With the Face 2 Face webinar series, we hope to connect professional marketers and agencies with trends, ideas, strategies and success stories from the digital frontier.”

    “We are using the Google Hangout platform for the interaction. And coincidentally, we have Mr Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Google India, in our inaugural session on Wednesday, April 25 at 3pm,” said Mr Advani.

     

    In the last few months, the International Association of Advertisers (India Chapter) has conducted a series of activities – the IAA Leadership Awards, a unique Gender Sensitization Seminar, the IAA Olive Crown Awards, and the monthly “IAA Debates” on topical issues concerning the industry.
