  • Publicis Groupe appoints leadership team to lead Indian market

    The Publicis Group has announced the appointment of a Group Leadership Team  to strengthen and accelerate the groupe’s capabilities at a national level across India & Sri Lanka.

    The team comprises executive leaders in India and Sri Lanka, including: Anupriya Acharya, CEO of Publicis Media India; Saurabh Varma, CEO of Publicis Communications South Asia; Surbhi Gupta, in the newly created role of Chief Talent Officer, Publicis Groupe South Asia; along with Pankaj Vasani, who is joining to take the new role of Chief Financial Officer, Publicis Groupe South Asia. There will be no single head of the Publicis Group in India, as per this announcement.

     

    Vasani joins from Vodafone where  he served for around five-and-a-half years and was holding various pivotal positions of responsibilities in Finance and Tax.

     

    Driving greater integration across Publicis Group’s range of services, the Group Leadership Team’s focus is targeted on helping brands to accelerate their transformation, enhance collaboration, and achieve cumulative growth for clients. The Solution hub leaders who make up the Group Leadership Team in the Indian market will maintain their existing responsibilities and continue to cultivate collaborative opportunities and new business initiatives.

     

    Appointed CEO of Publicis Group APAC in February 2018, Loris Nold will work closely with the Group Leadership Team, supporting Publicis Group as it strengthens its relationship with existing clients, wins the trust of new ones, in addition to cultivating and attracting the brightest talent across its agencies and disciplines in the South Asia region.

  • Publicis Communications launches Prodigious in India

    Publicis Communications has launched Prodigious, Publicis Groupe’s specialist production company that produces and delivers video, digital and print-led branded content, in India. Prodigious India will offer its services across all Publicis Communications agencies including The Leo Burnett Group, Publicis Worldwide (including Marcel), Law & Kenneth Saatchi & Saatchi and MSLGroup.

     

    Speaking about the launch of Prodigious, Saurabh Varma, CEO, Publicis Communications India said, “There has never been a better time to announce the launch of our own specialist production division. We hope to make Prodigious a major player inproduction in India in the next three years. To that end, we have made deep investments and put together a team of the best talent, technology and equipment to deliver world-class quality content for our clients. I am confident with Prodigious we have the most progressive content production company in India.”

  • Saurabh Varma appointed as Publicis Communications’ India CEO

     

    Publicis Communications has announced the appointment of Saurabh Varma as CEO of Publicis Communications India. Varma’s appointment comes on top of his existing responsibilities as CEO of Leo Burnett’s South Asia operations, and he will be based in Mumbai.

     

    Varma, as well other country leaders Nakul Chopra and Praveen Kenneth, will continue reporting to Loris Nold, global COO of Publicis Communications, incharge of the APAC & MEA region. In the Indian subcontinent, Publicis Communications comprises Leo Burnett, Publicis India, Law & Kenneth | Saatchi & Saatchi, Orchard India, MSLGROUP, Publicis Ambience, Publicis Capital, Indigo iStrat and Publicis Beehive.

     

    “With Saurabh leading our India efforts,” said Nold, “I am very confident that we will drive significant acceleration across Publicis Communications, ultimately for the direct benefit of our clients”  Said Varma on the announcement: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to help our creative brands fully leverage the strength of our collective expertise around digital, shopper marketing, PR and production platforms.     It may be recalled that Varma was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Leo Burnett India in 2013, and a year later, was elevated to a South Asia role. He has about 20 years of industry experience, seven of which were spent as Chief Strategy Officer for South Asia, in Singapore.

     

  • Bobby Pawar & Partha Sinha appointed Managing Directors, Publicis South Asia

    Publicis Worldwide South Asia has announced the promotion of Bobby Pawar and Partha Sinha to Managing Directors. This moves comes as the India agency consolidates following a period of sustained growth that has seen it double its size in the past two years.

     

    In their new roles, Pawar and Sinha will continue to report to Nakul Chopra CEO of Publicis Worldwide South Asia as they will take on larger responsibilities to partner him in managing all business units in the region. A key focus will be to elevate the agency’s effectiveness in communication that helps lead the change for clients.

     

    As Managing Director and Chief Strategy Officer, Sinha will lead all strategic development. He will take additional responsibility for the P&L of the Consulting, Design and Digital services in South Asia. Meanwhile, Pawar will be Managing Director and Chief Creative Officer. He will lead creative development and ensure the increasing infusion of digital channels for all Publicis Worldwide entities in the region.

     

    According to Chopra, the promotions were clear recognition of the positive impact and leadership both executives had demonstrated in leading their agency teams and client relationships, adding: “Both Bobby and Partha have played pivotal roles in delivering the expectations of our clients and in vastly improving our product. They have worked very closely with me and taken the lead in helping Publicis grow at a very rapid rate. These promotions not only recognise their past achievements but also focus on the future where we have high expectations for the continual transformation of our business.”

     

    In a statement, the new MDs said, “Publicis is on a fast growth track and is increasingly becoming a significant power in partnering clients in the new age environment. Our objective is to become the most significant partner available in this market for brands to navigate and lead the change in society, culture and the marketplace. We are on our way there.”
