  • FanCode secures digital rights for Lanka Premier League

    FanCode has secured exclusive digital streaming rights for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) for the next three years, starting with this edition which takes place from July 1 until July 21. It can be viewed on various streaming platforms and aggregators.

    Speaking about the development, Prasana Krishnan, Co-founder of FanCode, said: “We are excited to expand our cricket portfolio with the addition of the Lanka Premier League. The LPL has captivated India’s passionate cricket audience with thrilling action and memorable moments. It also provides fans an opportunity to see Sri Lanka’s top domestic talent and future stars in action.”

  • Sony Pictures acquires rights for Lanka league

    Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has returned as a broadcast partner for the second edition of Lanka Premier League (LPL). The network has signed an agreement with the official franchise and broadcast holder of LPL – the IPG Group. The agreement between Sony Pictures Networks India and the IPG Group includes the television and digital transmission of the LPL, which is set to be played between December 5, 2021 to December 23, 2021.

     

    Said Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India: “The appetite for cricket in India is huge and our aim is to bring the best of international cricketing action to our fans in India. With the onboarding of Lanka Premier League, we want to provide our viewers with some high-energy T20 cricket throughout December. Sri Lankan Cricket has always produced many world class players and the inclusion of top international cricketers like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell and Faf du Plessis among others is contributing to the growth and popularity of Lanka Premier League in the subcontinent.   • My11Circle comes on board as title sponsor of LPL

    In a major boost to the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), My11Circle, one of the leading fantasy sports platforms in India, has come on board as title sponsor of the T20 tournament in a multi-crore deal. With this new association, the T20 tournament will now be called My11Circle Lanka Premier League. Former Indian cricket team captain Mr. Sourav Ganguly is the brand ambassador of My11Circle.

    The My11Circle LPL is scheduled to kick off from November 26 till December 16, 2020 in Hambantota. Five franchisee teams, named after Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna, will compete in 23 matches over a 15-day period for the title.
