  • Big Bang Awards 2021 held

    Tthe Big Bang Awards 2021 for Excellence in Creative, Media, Digital and Marketing held by the Advertising Club Bangalore were held in Bengaluru on April 8.

     

    The Ayaz Peerbhoy Award for the Creative Agency of the year went to Stark Communications. V-ROK Communications Network was the Healthcare Agency of the year. Mindshare India was named the Media Agency of the Year and Social Beat was the Digital Agency of the Year.

     

    Amongst clients, Viatris was the client of the year in the creative category, Hindustan Lever was the media client of the year, Netflix the digital client of the year, Columbia Pacific Communities, Marketer of the year.

     

    Sharan Pillai won the newly constituted Arvind Kumar Award for Young Media Professional of the year. The Young Art Director of the year was won by Arun Gopidas.

     

     

    Said Laeeq Ali, President, The Advertising Club Bangalore: “We received over 400 entries this year from agencies and clients across the country and decided to wait till April so we could kick-start our activities for the year with an offline event in Bengaluru on the 8th of April.”

  • The Ad Club Bangalore announces Big Bang Awards

    The Advertising Club Bangalore announced its flagship event Big Bang Awards, celebrating excellence in the areas of creative, media, digital and marketing. The awards will be spread over four days, starting in mid-December.

     

    Said Laeeq Ali, President, The Advertising Club Bangalore: “Over the last two decades, Bengaluru has emerged as the key advertising hub of South India and has become home to several international and national agencies. Apart from this, several homegrown agencies have also made a mark, making Bangalore the No 2 city for advertising talent after Mumbai.”

     

    Added Malavika Harita, Chairperson of Big Bang Awards: “I have been involved with the Big Bang Awards for the last 20 years. This year we hope to see a lot of emerging creative, media and digital agencies with innovative and exciting ideas.   • Ad Club Bangalore announces Big Bang Utsav 2020, Arvind Kumar Memorial Award

    The Ad Club Bangalore is putting together a series of programmes  to engage with the advertising, media and marketing fraternity this festive season.

     

    The three-week series starts on Dec 4 and will be held on Friday evenings through December. It will feature events like Open Mic Comedy, a fun quiz, Singing with a Twist and many other fun activities that make it mandatory for the participant to leave their home-office for a while and just let their hair down.

     

    The BB Utsav is presented in partnership with Facebook and is open to all from the media, marketing and advertising community as long as they are members of The Ad Club Bangalore. The Club had recently announced that membership benefits for all who enrolled from June 2020 will be valid for a two-year a period through June 2022.

     

    Speaking on the BB Utsav, Laeeq Ali, President of The Ad Club Bangalore and Co-Founder – Origami Creative said: “We want to celebrate Big Bang differently this year. Considering the overall pandemic situation as well as the stress which the industry is going through, we have decided to call off the regular Big Bang Awards and the whole focus starting with Big Bang Utsav will be to celebrate as well as elevate the people. While the Big Bang Utsav is purely focused on fun and building the camaraderie within the advertising, media and marketing fraternity at large, we also plan to roll out a series of upskilling initiatives which will help the fraternity starting early next year.”

     

    Added Kishankumar Shyamalan, Head of the Big Bang Utsav 2020 and Chief Growth Officer – Wavemaker: “It is a very stressed environment out there currently and we wanted this program to come like a breath of fresh air. We have a series of programmes spread over three weeks which will not just be fun, but also a refreshing break. I urge the entire advertising, media and marketing community to come, encourage your team members to join us and make this event a very memorable one.”

     

    Along with the programmes, the Ad Club Bangalore is also inviting nominations for the Arvind Kumar Memorial Award for the most Enterprising Professional of the year in the age group of 25-40 years. Judged by an eminent jury, the winner will be announced on the last Friday of the series.   • Mindshare, Unilever & Akanksha max Big Bang Awards

    The Advertising Club Bangalore’s Big Bang Awards held its 24th edition on Friday in Bengaluru. The event received over 400 entries from 40 agencies and nine clients, spread over 12 cities in India.

     

    Mindshare India won the maximum of 18 Gold, 13 Silver and 4 Bronze Awards, totaling 35 awards. Hindustan Unilever Limited was declared client of The Year. Akanksha Advertising won the Healthcare Agency of The Year.

     

    Said Laeeq Ali, President, The Advertising Club Bangalore: “As the Advertising Industry continues to grow, more and more new opportunities and newer challenges seem to be emerging. Our theme this year ‘Breaking The Rules’ focused on recognizing the digital creative content that broke conventional rules in order to capture the new age consumer. Over the last two decades, Bangalore has emerged as the key advertising hub of South India and has become home to several international and national agencies. Apart from this, several home-grown agencies have also made a mark, making Bangalore the No. 2 city for advertising talent after Mumbai.”

  • Times Network & Stark Communications bag top honours at Big Bang Awards 2019

    The Bangalore Ad Club’s Big Bang Awards 2019 held its 24th edition in Bengaluru last Friday.. Stark Communications won the maximum Gold and Silver awards totaling to eight, while Times Network won two Gold, four Silver and three Bronze and was declared the Client of The Year. Presto Advertising from Chennai won the maximum of Bronze totaling to seven awards this year. The event received entries from 73 agencies and seven clients, spread over 13 cities in India.

     

    The jury panel had over 20 leading professionals including Harish Bijoor, Sundar Madakshira, Chetan Asher, Ashok Lallla, etc. to judge the entries. Celebrated adfilm-maker Prasoon Pandey and Sachin Sharma, Director Sales, TikTok were also present at the event as chief guests to discuss/debate the future of advertising industry

  • Big Bang Awards to be hosted on September 20 in Bengaluru

    The Advertising Club, Bangalore’s ‘Big Bang Awards 2019 for Excellence in Creative & Content’, have received entries from 73 agencies and 7 clients, spread over 13 cities in India. The Advertising Club has roped in over 20 prominent advertising professionals to judge the entries. The Awards will be held on  September 20 at The ITC Gardenia Hotel in Bangalore.

     

    Said Laeeq Ali, President of The Advertising Club Bangalore: “As the Advertising industry continues to grow, more and more new opportunities and newer challenges seems to be emerging. The advertising approaches of yesteryears are being challenged and there is a need to break a lot of the conventional rules in order to capture the new age consumer. We have therefore chosen our theme this year as ‘Breaking The Rules’.”

  • Ad Club Bangalore announces new mancom

    The Advertising Club Bangalore has announced a new Managing Committee and list of office bearers ahead of the Big Bang Awards 2018. The Executive Committee is headed by three time Past President R T Kumar, Managing Director of Oysters Advertising.

     

    The new office bearers are Laeeq Ali, Director of Origami Creative who is named Vice President to take over as President of the Ad Club in 2019. Malavika Harita, CEO of Saatchi Focus continues as the Treasurer and Chair Person of the Big Bang Awards Committee. Akshar Peerbhoy, Director & CEO of MAA Communications and Southern Regional representative of AAAI, will be the Secretary with Navin Nair, a PR professional, as Joint Secretary.

     

    Akshar Peerbhoy heads the Good Practices vertical of the club while the Programmes vertical is headed by Kishankumar Shyamalan, Managing Partner, Wavemaker. The Knowledge vertical is headed by Maya Chandra, a film-maker and founder of Maya, Bengaluru as Tina Manuskhani Garg, Founder and CEO of Pink Lemonade, heads the Image and Membership Management vertical and Arunava Seal, Chief & Creative Director of Bleu, the Sports vertical.

     

    The other eminent members of the committee include Dilip Ashoka, Head of McCann, Bengaluru; Bindusara Ramachandra, a digital education professional from Unwebd.com; Ganga Ganapathi Pooviah, Vice President, Epsilon Bangalore; Sonia Serrao, Global Media Lead, Tata Global Beverages and Sneha Walke, Vice President South – Exchange4Media Group. Sanchayeeta Verma, Sr Vice President, Wavemaker Bangalore and Immediate Past President of Ad Club Bangalore continues as an active ex-officio member of the Executive Committee.
