  • Eros partners STX Entertainment to launch new OTT vertical

    Eros International and STX Filmworks announced last weekend that they have entered into a definitive stock-for-stock merger agreement to create the first publicly traded, independent content and distribution company with global reach and unique positions in the United States, India and China.

     

    The combined company, to be called Eros STX Global Corporation, will have a pipeline of feature length films and episodic content.

     

    Said Kishore Lulla Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eros International: “We are thrilled to join with STX Entertainment as this represents a landmark step in our company’s transformation. We are already at an inflection point as we move to a more consistent, stable and high growth revenue profile with our digital over-the-top (“OTT”) platform. This merger will not only fuel our growth but will also diversify our underlying sources of revenue and subscribers with a truly global play, building a powerhouse between East and West. We are well positioned to create long-term value for our shareholders, partners and employees,” adding: “Collectively, we will have a unique capability to present our film and episodic libraries and pipeline of original content to a broad and growing global audience through multi-year output deals, strategic alliances and our market leading Eros Now streaming platform.”

  • Pradeep Dwivedi joins Eros India as CEO

    In Greek mythology, Eros is the god of love, the son of Aphrodite. And now comes the news that Pradeep Dwivedi, the M&E professional the industry loves, has joined Eros International Media Limited (EIML) as its Chief Executive Officer.

     

    EIML is a majority-owned subsidiary of Eros International Plc, a leading player in the global Indian film entertainment domain. Dwivedi, a popular, high profile and very visible face in the Indian A&M industry, will be, as per a communique, responsible for managing business growth and operations of the company and will also be responsible for all commercial negotiations and representations in various markets, forums, customers, vendors and regulatory authorities.

     

    Said Kishore Lulla, Executive Director, EIML and Executive Chairman and CEO of Eros International Plc, in a statement: “We are delighted to have Pradeep Dwivedi joining us as CEO at Eros India.     Dwivedi was until last year CEO of the Sakal Media Group, and before that was Chief Corporate Sales and Marketing Officer of the Dainik Bhaskar Group. He is a superactive officebearer of industry associations like the India chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA) as well as of The Advertising Club.

     

    Meanwhile, Eros International has also appointed  Vijay Vaishnav as Chief Finance Officer at Eros Now and Bishwarup Chakrabarti as Legal-Head at Eros Digital.

     

     

  • Eros Intnl appoints Manav Sethi as Group CMO

    Eros International announced the appointment of Manav Sethi as Group Chief Marketing Officer. He will be spearheading brand marketing initiatives of the studio and digital business, including Eros Now. He will work closely with Rishika Lulla Singh and Kishore Lulla in this role.
