  • FoodFood channel to go live on free DTH service

    FoodFood, the 24X7 food and lifestyle channel that started over a decade ago by celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, is all set to go live on the Free-to-Air (FTA) DTH service, DD Free Dish.

     

    Speaking on the development, Kapoor said: “FoodFood has always been at the forefront of breaking barriers in the industry as the first 24×7 food lifestyle programming and now again being the first to reach rural audiences. I firmly believe that food is a universal language that breaks all barriers of cultures, races, and borders. With FoodFood, I want to reach as many people as possible looking for relevant content on food to make taste buds tantalized and possibly their lives brighter.”

     

  • Discovery acquires majority stake in FoodFood

    Discovery Communications announced an agreement to partner with India’s top culinary celebrity Sanjeev Kapoor, by acquiring a majority share in Turmeric Vision Private Limited, which owns and operates pay-TV network, FoodFood and its digital products.

     

    Discovery’s investment in FoodFood underscores its strategy to deepen and expand its presence in India to grow audience share across all screens, and to complement and strengthen its existing portfolio of female and lifestyle brands including TLC and ID. Tapping into the growing appetite for food programming amongst women across India, Discovery plans to support FoodFood’s 100% focus on local programming and products, and to drive further value from the ongoing digitalisation of India. Discovery has also agreed to sell FoodFood’s advertising, effective immediately.

     

    Sanjeev Kapoor will continue to star in and produce programming for FoodFood as its brand ambassador, and will remain a minority shareholder in the business.

    Turmeric Vision Private Limited will be managed as part of Discovery’s Asia-Pacific region led by Bastings. Completion of the transaction is expected to occur in the coming weeks, subject to regulatory approvals.

     

     

  • Mogae Plus to handle ad sales for FoodFood

    Mogae Plus, the sales division of Mogae Media will handle the entire advertising sales of FoodFood, the channel promoted and owned by Chef Sanjeev Kapoor under the umbrella Turmeric Vision Pvt. Ltd.

     

    FoodFood is a category leader in the space of 24/7 food. It was India’s first channel to dedicate its programming entirely to the subject of food. The channel’s popular shows are Sanjeev Kapoor’s Kitchen, Cook Smart, Turban Tadka, Mummy Ka Magic, Out of the World and Health Magazine. Apart from Masterchef Sanjeev Kapoor, Chef Rakesh Sethi, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, Chef Shailendra Kekade, Chef Shantanu Gupte, Chef Saransh Goila, Chef Chinu and Amrita Raichand are celebrity chefs who host many popular shows on the channel.

  • Ruchir Joshi appointed Head of Content at FoodFood

    FoodFood has appointed Ruchir Joshi to head the content of the channel. Ruchir Joshi, a creative media professional, with over 17 years experience, will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing cutting-edge content that speaks to a global audience.

     

    Prior to joining FoodFood, Ruchir, was a co founder & promoter –Via Earth that made TV shows that have aired on broadcasters like BBC, CNN and Discovery. He has also done shows for Zee TV/ Zee Cafe, Star One, Sahara Filmy among others.

    Chef Shipra Khanna, the winner of Masterchef 2, India, has made rapid strides after her win. Other than opening a restaurant and authoring a cookery book, she is also food-and-lifestyle channel FoodFood’s chef and host. She has her debut this Christmas with from cookies to cakes and savories on the show Deliciously Christmas.

     

    There are other Christmassy highlights that the channel has on offer: Chef Shantanu, Madhu Sneha, Chef Saransh, Pooja Makhija and of course Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor

  • Helios bags sales mandate for FoodFood

    Leading food channel has awarded its revenue monetization mandate to Helios Media, the Divya Radhakrishnan-led speciality services company for broadcasters with verticals in sales, marketing, content advisory, content syndication and research and traffic management. The mandate was earlier held by Media Agnos.

     

    FoodFood is a joint venture between well-known Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Malaysia-based media conglomerate Astro Media. Chef Kapoor is well-known for his popular shows like ‘Khana Khazana’ on Zee TV and his recent association with ‘Masterchef’ on Star Plus. Confirming the news, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Co-founder & Director of FoodFood, said, “Our decision to partner with Helios Media is based on our assessment of its team’s strength and ability. In a unique offering and destination such as FoodFood, it is imperative that the team has deep understanding of aspirational needs of brands and viewers alike.   • FoodFood expanding in India, abroad

    Food and food lifestyle channel FoodFood is now available on Tata Sky, channel no. 572. The channel has also increased its reach internationally by making an entry into Canada and Qatar.

     

    FoodFood channel’s content is a classic mix of cookery and food-based lifestyle shows such as Secret Recipe, Sanjeev Kapoor’s Kitchen, Roti Raasta Aur India, Turban Tadka, Style Chef and Mummy Ka Magic.

     

    The channel’s promoter Sanjeev Kapoor said, “FoodFood has ushered in a new wave in entertainment, that has engaged both men and women. The encouraging response has reaffirmed our commitment to offer enhanced value to audiences, partners and advertisers.”

     

    FoodFood has launched in Canada on Rogers Cable network. It is available in Qatar through the Asia Plus package on the QTEL Qatar Mosaic Platform. In India, in additon to MSOs across the country, the channel is available on all major DTH platforms. The channel also has a presence in the UAE.
