  • ET Now takes off in Canada

    It’s getting cold in Canada (prounced Canayda by many), and Times Network announced the launch of ET Now in the North American country after successfully locking a distribution deal with Ethnic Channels Group (ECG).. The partnership was concretized during MIPCOM 2019 in France.

  • Zee partners ECG to launch Zee TV Canada

    Zee TV, the #1 South Asian Entertainment Network in partnership with Ethnic Channels Group Limited (ECG), Canada’s largest distributor of third language television services, launches Zee TV Canada!

     

    Zee TV will be available to Canadian viewers as a 24/7 service for the first time. Zee TV Canada will be available on Rogers, Bell and Telus starting February 1.

  • Zee Cinema partners with Ethnic Channels Group in Canada

    Zee America shas entered into a long-term distribution agreement with Ethnic Channels Group for Zee Cinema in Canada. The deal provides Ethnic Channels Group the rights to distribute the service on Cable and Satellite platforms.

     

    Suresh Bala, CEO, Zee Americas said: “This is exciting for us, in that for the first time we are able to focus our marketing and unlock the strength of the Zee Cinema brand in Canada. Ethnic Channels Group is an expert at marketing to ethnic audiences and we expect to grow our distribution and our subscription base significantly. Currently Zee Cinema is only available as a linear service, but we expect to work out the details of mobile distribution in the not so distant future.”

     

    Zee Cinema is Zee’s Bollywood entertainment channel. Its library features over 5,000 hours of movies.

    Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd has expanded its reach into the international markets with the launch of BIG Magic International in Canada. Building on the brand lineage of its recently launched channel in India- BIG Magic; the new channel has been tailored to suit the entertainment preferences of the sizeable South Asian diaspora in Canada.

    With Ethnic Channels Group as its exclusive representative inCanada, the channel will be available across all major platforms like Rogers Cable, Bell DTH and Bell Fibe. With a robust reach in place, the channel will reach a relevant audience base of 0.2 million across these platforms. The revenue model is based on subscription and ad-sales.
