  • Dish TV India launches Watcho OTT plans

    Following a successful run on its original content, Watcho is expanding its offering by providing bundled packages of the most popular OTT platforms, thus providing its subscribers with a whole new world of digital content along with the convenience of a single subscription.

     

    Watcho will offer OTT content from Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Hungama Play, HoiChoi, Klikk, EpicOn, Chaupal, and Oho Gujarati via a single login and subscription model. Additionally, subscribers will also be able to enjoy the massive library of original content including 35+ enthralling web series, Swag (UGC content), snackable shows, and live TV from WATCHO exclusives. DishTV will further enhance its plans as more OTT platforms are in the pipeline to join Watcho to make it a comprehensive entertainment destination.

  • Dish TV India app gets ‘Scan to help’ feature

    Leading DTH company Dish TV India has launched a new ‘Scan to Help’ feature for its DishTV subscribers. Executed and conceptualised by the first runner-up team of Dish-a-thon 2020.

     

    With this feature, the company aims to empower all existing and new subscribers for self-help in case of any technical errors on the set-top box.

  • Eros Now partners Dish TV

    Eros Now has announced a partnership with Dish TV whereby Dish TV and D2H users can access Eros Now’s content library including 12,000 plus movie titles, original shows, short-format content Quickie, music through their android set-top boxes – Dish SMRT Hub and D2H Stream, respectively.

  • Dish TV announces second edition of ‘Dish-a-thon 2020’

    After the success of its earlier hackathon, Dish TV India is set to hold the second season of hackathon ‘Dish-a-thon 2020’. The 48-hours hackathon is aimed at inviting disruptive ideas with participation of young innovators/ disruptors/ startups/ students/ developers across India.

  • Dish TV India launches new offering, Shorts TV Active

    Dish TV announced the launch of a new value-added service ‘Shorts TV Active’ in partnership with ShortsTV, the TV channel dedicated to short movies. Customers can now enjoy an uncluttered ad-free HD films packed with 10000+ premium movie titles. The service is available at a nominal subscription price of Rs 59+ taxes per month.

  • Ranveer Singh promotes new brand message for Dish TV

    Dish TV India has announced the launch of its new campaign for DishTV with Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh as its ambassador. The campaign has been designed to showcase the brand in a new, bold avatar – signaling a new phase in the brand’s life cycle.

  • Initiative wins media mandate for Dish TV

    Initiative, the global full-service media agency network of IPG Mediabrands, has been awarded the media mandate of Dish TV India Limited. Dish TV India has two brands under its umbrella, Dish TV and Videocon d2h and Initiative will handle the entire media portfolio of both brands including digital.

    Dish TV India Limited has launched a 360-degree campaign on its industry-first initiative that allows freedom of choice for its customers. Entitled “Saadheyaathmeinjeetosaare heart”, the campaign has been conceptualised by Enormous Brands.

  • Dish TV, Videocon d2h merger gets MIB nod

    Dish TV India has announced the receipt of the final approval needed in India for closing of the merger of Videocon d2h with and into Dish TV. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) vide its letter dated December 15, 2017 has approved the requests made by the company for completion of the transaction.

     

    Following the amalgamation, the combined entity will be renamed as Dish TV Videocon Limited. The combination will have scale similar to leading global cable and satellite players in terms of subscribers. Dish TV Videocon would serve more than 29 million subscribers in India as per its combined share on September 30, 2017, notes a communique.

     

    Expressing happiness on the development, Jawahar Goel, CMD, Dish TV India said: “It has been a long journey since the announcement of the agreement between the two companies a year back. We would like to thank the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the National Company Law Tribunal, the Competition Commission of India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the Stock Exchanges and all other stakeholders for showing their trust in us. I would also like to express our gratitude to our shareholders for standing by us through the transaction and believing in us to take the combined entity to the next level going forward.”

  • Dish TV launches India’s first SD Recorder with unlimited capacity

    Dish TV has launched “Dish+”,India’s first standard definition box with unlimited recording facility. Dish+ is positioned at a consumer-friendly and competitive price of Rs1,690 (against all other SD boxes at Rs 1590) with a free 4 GB pen drive as promotional offer. Post VCR, there is no recording device available with consumers and there is a huge vacuum to fulfil the consumer need. Dish+ fulfils the ‘need gap’ of recording facility for the consumers.
